@Spitfire995 What I read was that a radar clocked one at mach 3 and it was later found that the engines where blown from over fueling them. I could be wrong but I have read this from several sources. I don't think it could have ever kept up with the Blackbird which was designed to cruise at mach 3.2. We still don't know what the BB could have achieved at full power.
that was the most poweful jet ever built besides the SR-71 corret me if I'm wrong it still is the fastest "fighter jet" built mach 3!! the russians sure built some awesome power plants!! good video!!
The Canadian built Avro Arrow Mk2 was designed to reach mach 2.8 and designed specifically for high speed interception of Russian high altitude bombers, with nuclear air to air missiles. The plane also had the first internal weapons bay on a fighter aircraft The first plane built without guns Also, had one of the most powerful jet engines ever built (this was in the late 50's) Everything in the plane was designed, and built in Canada, and then 1959 all blue prints + prototypes were destroyed
@Spitfire995 That was never proven because it is still up for debate about how fast the Blackbird could actually fly. We do know that the Blackbird could cruise (not full power) continuously at mach 3.2, where the Foxbat was, I believe, on one occasion able to reach mach 3. But it happened because the fuel pumps malfunctioned and overfueled the engines and destroyed them.
El SR-71 es un avión de reconocimiento no de combate y el poweful es un interceptor tambien de fue un avión de reconocimiento y combate que portaba misiles y el SR-71 no portaba misiles !
@aandc2005 well yes it was the most powerful jet fighter ever built. Though the record for fastest aircraft in military service is held by the SR-71 but the fastest interceptor was the MiG-25. My dad served in the Indian Air Force and as per what he told me the Indian Air Force inducted 6 MiG-25s from Russia. But these were all used purely for recce. I met one of its pilots also long ago and he told me that they have actually achieved high altitude level speeds of Mach 3 during sorties
f 35 :)))) its a joke - stolen technology from KB Jakovlev - jak 144 - after tests this plain can only fight with beplans :))) - but its handsome plane
The MIG 25 is still the flight performance record holder till this day .
Clean, dose slightly over mach 3! that's incredible!
This plane was well ahead of its time :) Just look at it... BEAUTY!
I´ve noticed this is a MiG-25U with double cockpit: the front one for the student and the back one for the instructor. What a powerful take-off!

God damn!!! If you were just listening and not watching, you could guess it´s a rocket lifting off from the launch pad!! Overwhelming power!

Why is it that you'll only find MiG-25 Us (trainer versions) taking off today on youtube?
Ends with a Coca-Cola logo on a canopy tent - how ironic 😂

@beergut111 Mach 3.2 was the limit for the MiG-25. But it still posed a threat to normal supersonic bombers.

@aandc2005 you are right.
Very nice, but I like more the original one aka monoseat Foxbat.
@aandc2005 ...yep still the fastest one M 3.2 and altitude record of 37+ Km ...about 115000+ ft
@aandc2005 the f22 does over mach 3......the f15 did too
You're asking for proof from a guy named "Beergut."
Something tells me that you're not going to get it, but he's going to have an excuse.
Shit. Couldn't find any info about this stuff.
its classified.....sorry
@HeildemKrieg not really.....after going mach 2 the engines were toast......that's expensive. and it still couldnt shoot down an sr71
