1. When enemy is firing at you, angle your ship to bounce off, or maneuvere out of line of fire to minimize the damge.
2. When Firing, use single shot(space key by default) to measure where your rounds would land. remember that your guns in different gundeck have diff traverse so shooting each gundeck separately is a good idea(You can lock certain gun deck by pressing F1~F4)
3. If you are not using certain broadside, assigning crew to that broadside guns is waste of manpower. press F5 to unman certain broadsides.
4. You don't need full crew on sails to get maximum speed. It only affects the speed of folding/unfolding sail & the speed of turning sale. unprioritizing sails to free crew to utilize them in other parts(ex. repair and reloading) is generally good idea, as long as there are some crew left in the sails to operate them.
5. Your ship tilts as it is powered by wind, which sometimes hinders aiming. press T to disable horizontal sails and adjust other sails to let wind just pass by to reduce tilting.
6. If your pump is broken, get them fixed as soon as possible. It slows down your ship, and requires extra emergency repair crew which hinders your overall performance.

i’ve heard it doesn’t give you the same xp no more right? so its better to just grind with the cutter

Cerb but the xp you gain isn't enough to level you up enough to fully crew it. You gotta go hunt in basic cutter a lil and level up.
