We lost a beautiful mixed breed girl last August (2023). I still have her leash in my truck. And every time I open the garage door I miss her howl. Nothing replaces that
We lost our lab/pit/chow to cancer 4 years ago. It was a horrible time and we put Bear's blanket in a box and put it away. Well, mom passed, dad retired and moved, I inherited all of the mystery boxes and bags from the house. When I found Bear's blanket, I had to sit with it for awhile then I grabbed a clean hair brush and brushed the blanket of every hair I can find. Sorted them out, got rid of the lint and packed them off to my sister. She has an artist friend who used Bear's fur to make a small, miniature picture of Bear, looking all majestic against a skyline. Wrapped it up and FedEx'ed to Dad up in Oregon for Father's Day and then we got the phone calls thanking us. We blubbered all over each other about what a great dog, brother, family wolf, eater of foods that were not his and it was a nice surprise for Bear's bestest buddy, Dad. I miss both of them.
Well put. So simple, but so undeniably true & immensely powerful. Makes me a little emotional tbh. I'd just modify it a little to incl., "Every CARING dog owner knows" (just b/c SOME poor puppers deserve FAR better doggo parents than the ones they unfortunately end up with - sadly). 🐶❤
I have a st Bernard he is 9 and half blind but still in pretty good shape I just hope he goes in his sleep my last st Bernard got cancer in his front shoulder it's hard FKH
I have rescue Chihuahua with heart disease, I know her time is short so every second with her is precious. I never wanted a chihuahua because of their temperament, but this little girl is unlike any other chihuahuas I have ever known, just pure love, my heart will be forever grateful to her.

After I lost my last dog 2 yrs ago. It's left a big hole in my life. Don't know if I can go through that again.
