Thank you so much for this video! I started my dreads about two months ago, and this is by far the best explanation of how to tighten dreads. I've watched a lot of videos, and this is the easiest to understand and follow!
Thanks so much for your videos! They are so helpful. I've started my partial locs 2 days ago using twist and rip method and palm roll. I briefly tried the crochet but had a hard time with it.. I am still learning the process & appreciate all the advice.
Thank You so much for showing how to maintain dreadlocks roots . I am in my 8th month and notice as I wash, wet, and pull apart my hair, loose and new growth hair are sticking out at the roots. I had no idea how to connect the fly aways back into my locs. I select to do the micro latch or crochet hook.but notice they both are too dull to go through my locs. I decided to use your method but with a crochet needle, so I grab the loose hair wind it around the needle and pull the hair through. You are a life saver! Although palm roll is good for some it’s too much friction on my hair and can lead to breakage or thinning. You did a wonderful explanation!
Hello , Thankyou for clearly advising maintenance on dreadlocks. I have just done partial dreadlocks on the back of my head so I really appreciate your very clear instructions. Hugs❤️❤️
It's a skill! It's hard as fuck to do on my own dreads very frustrating😫. But just trying to do it getting the roots tight. But I have a lot of respect for people that do dreads !
Oh thank you so kindly! I try my hardest to be as helpful and informative as possible ;-) I do not recommend back combing roots. Since the Dreads are already created and in tact, this may cause breakage to the hair and base of the Dread's structure. I have a few other videos about Root maintenance that you may want to check out for additional tips. Clockwise Rub, Palm Rolling, Separating, Washing, etc. All of these combined play great role in Root Maintenance ;-) Thank you for watching!
Thank you. I got the burnt color underneath from trying to lighten my black section. I had black under with blonde on top for YEARS lol even before dreads. Then I finally lightened them with a few bleach sessions over a few months. The blonde is no longer, as you can tell. But it does try to bleed through from my deep cleanse routines. Thanks for watching!
I’ve had my dreads for..1.5 yrs.. they will be 2 yrs old on Oct.. I decided to use bleach some of the dreads in the middle layer, and do a golden blonde on the top layer & straight hair that I have in the front. I still haven’t tried doing my own maintenance, so I have someone else do that for me. My longest dread is almost down to my bottom. Haha
thank you for your video very interesting & informative. please make a video about crocheting? forgot how to spell lol how you do it for your dreads pls thanks hun =)xo
