    There will always be a delay in a digital switcher due to the frame synchronisers on all inputs

    Thanks. You missed talking about the ability to bring in remote cameras to the inbuilt streaming bridges. Did you test this? Did it work? I’m interested to know. Again thanks for your review.

    I just make a 10min beep test with 25fps and no, there is no any lag of audio. I have Zoom f3 connected with 2 mics and line out 3,5mm to XLR in to atem. No probs

    Congrats for this review! i have 2 questions. It's possible to record in the high preset and stream at same time in low? 2ª- Can you add border in supersource box's ?

    • @FifalianaFilms
      @FifalianaFilms  Рік тому

      For the first question, I don't think so, the quality option affects both recording and streaming, as for border, they don't have border options like say VMIx but if you add a transparent graphic with border that match your boxes in downstream or upstream key, the you will get the effect you are describing! 🙏

    put at least 32 input, NDI , Dante something like 8 ME with multilayer capabilities and maybe it can be called Broadcast switcher... With this new kind of production with remote contents, calls, multimedia, animated graphics... I don't know I'm feeling like BDM can do lots more, just didn't want it and keep care about non complex productions, or to be more specific they think video switcher operator comes with a crew of 6 people taking care about graphics, videos, remote calls etc... but reality is another thing... I really think they can break the market just put all these great technologies brands and codec and have great results but still uses for really easy production in my opinion, there's no NDI, no Dante, no SRT, no real mediaplayers no complex graphics engine... it's just a big atem mini that's the true about that unfortunately. It's still a great mixer for some for sure, but i think productions and BDM are taking too diffrent roads nowadays... Therefore BDM is always aiming to use other BDM products rather than get focused on making one of their products just to be great and outstand on the competitors on the market, and the silly part is that if I think about a company who can made this is BDM actually, they just don't care...

    • @FifalianaFilms
      @FifalianaFilms  Рік тому +1

      You are definitely right... I would love to have NDI in Blackmagic, That would be fantastic, the funny thing tho is that Blackmagic is already doing more than many mainstream switchers like grassvalley and wirecast for 20% of the price...

    • @AmauryJacquot
      @AmauryJacquot Рік тому +2

      NDI is not going to happen, it’s a licensed technology from newtek that manufactures the tricaster line of windows (erh, really ?) based devices

    • @techthisout3549
      @techthisout3549 Рік тому +1

      @@AmauryJacquot NDI is just the future, that's the reality of the thing, even broadcaster will come to the fact that modern production can cost a fraction using thse new technologies and implementation on hardware is just something that should come standard with the major leading brands... BDM just don't want to embrace "others" standards rather then its own... I mean why MADI on that mixer? More precisely, why only MADI rather than giving the opportunity of using Dante I/O card for example? they just want their customer to stick in the the neighborhood of its own products rather than cooperate with other brands manifacturers. Sooner or later they will have to understand that the market will let them behind if they won't follow their competitors... Or the only thing they can try to do is making something even better than the avaliable market leader codec in the market, but this is far away to be a thing in my opionion. What I know for real is that BDM adding NDI SRT and Dante could sell 5 times more than now, even rising the price for their products... this is a fact proof...

    • @serchenmorris1979
      @serchenmorris1979 Рік тому

      @@techthisout3549 the licensing cost at the backend for NDI and Dante, are cost prohibitive to most hardware manufacturers in the way of switchers, if you look on birdog gear, which would be considered all NDI, their products are not "expensive" but when you add the chipset and integrate the codec into coding and then necessary license for 1 output/input....it adds up really quickly.... this is why BMD has their streaming bridges built in to the HD8 ISO, and the G2 or the new Studio cameras can stream to them remotely and you get the "same" type of connectivity as NDI and it doesn't cost them to do it...and I think that they will incorporate other open source standards so to speak that we as consumers won't find our pockets burning from the licensing agreements and costs associated with them. MADI is a world standard, and again if you wish to use Dante you can purchase a audio standards cross converter piece of hardware and in that sense you can have even more versatility to MADI.
      All that to say, as @amaury was saying NDI will not happen, they have built their own IP based system and it was showcased, and it is within their ecosystem as is the case with other companies...BMD, has been about saving our pockets and advancing the tech for a certain demographic....and if you are not satisfied then there are other companies who have products that will give you all that you wish, and more for 2 - 3 times the cost....
      respectfully my 2 cents

      @@techthisout3549 Mainstream broadcast has already moved to SMPTE ST2110 for IP delivery. NDI is owned by Newtek and needs to be licensed. BMD have always tried to keep the price of its devices down to a minimum, so paying licence fees is a problem. Its the same as them developing thier own RAW format. They could have used PRORES or RED codecs but had to pay for it, instead they develop thier own and in my opinion offer a better option. Offering modular designs that rely on external cards made by thrid parties introduce complexities and reliability issues that push up the price considerably. I agree that if BMD did have Dante and NDI options available, they would be popular, but unfortunatly they would also be much more expensive. I used to own a TRICASTER 860 and it was worth over $20K. To have a device that offers more functionality at a quarter of the price is just mind blowing.

    U can fix the delay by connecting a laptop and using the BM software and go into the audio tab and roll back the delay to sync. Maybe u can do it on the board.. but BM is so full of crap they just nickel and dime their customers.. 4grand for a bigger toy not worth it… no 4k no 4k recording.. they have the technology but I think they are making to many products that eventually kiilsmof another product but more importantly limits us the consumer to expand.
