Tommy plays this guitar better than any other. Its obvious that this guitar melts in his hands. I don't like the new guitars he plays. But as we all know. nobody can do what Tommy does. I saw him in Cambridge, MA one night at the Charles Hotel many years ago for the second show for $10. I was one of five in the audience. I remember thinking, this guy is likely the best on the planet and five people here to see him. Those Who Wait is my favorite Tommy tune. He wrote it. As far as I'm concerned, on eof the most beautiful songs, ever. Love ya bro!
I agree, it's a different way to play this lick...something from Chet Atkins way of playing harmony over chords, very few people have done that. Generally, I really like this performance. It's got better over years!
Exquisite playing with "drum", bass, chordal, lead work. The one thing I don't like about it is the syncopated swing rythym. If you think about trying to sing it, or even coordinate the words in your mind it's an abomination of timings. But that's instrument jazz for ya!
Playing all 4 parts at once. Insane level!

Tommy é fantástico!
As good as ever not much else to say is there.
The rift at 2:40 is crazy! I can’t figure out how he plays it like that. It’s played differently than any other cover of this I could find.

"I'm sightreading all this" 🤣🤣🤣

Wondering what kind of looper he’s using?
I'd be very surprised if he was using a looper. The guy is just that good.
@@jeffzolitor7773 yes…..never saw him hit a foot switch.
@@scottneiThecarvingguy Tommy once said his only pedal is a tuner :)
It's called skill 😉
He is The Boss Looper.

HUH? this is easy to sing along with. Just do it; you'll fall right into the rhythm.
