Thanks for this video but I would have loved to see a close-up of what you was doing. The one I have cranks then stopped. I have to get this thing working I don’t wanna pay another man to do my yard.
It's impossible to get the closeup shots without a camera man and my channel just doesn't get the views to afford one... I sold this trimmer late last summer so I no longer have it for reference but if you have specific questions, I'll do my best to answer them.
Can you explain how the butterfly valve on that carburetor works? It seems that the governor is not pullng the butterfly valve to a fully closed position ever. it’s like the spring is not strong enough to pull it back, but I put it in exactly the way I took it apart. Any suggestions?
The governor will pull the throttle open when not running, the governor will close it when running but these engines don't idle, they run at speed only and the governor keeps it at speed under any load. Seems to work fine, I really love this mower...
Can you show how the drive cable is installed? Mine sprung and I got a new one but feels super loose. I can’t seem to find a diagram or video of how it is wrapped around the pulleys
I actually disconnected my throttle cable and threw it away, and I just push the black piece that sticks out from under the housing forward or backwards, whether I want to run idle or stop
Incase I misunderstood your question, if you’re talking about the mechanism that drives the cutting head, it’s hard to do but tip your machine back pull the handle to the operating position and put a rock on it to hold it there and then look under your machine and I bet you it’s tight. When it’s not engage, it is very loose. It does not need to be running when you check this.
Lack of fuel maybe, the carb may be dirty and not allowing enough fuel flow, when the carb bowl runs out of gas it dies .. or possibly the choke is stuck shut, there would be black smoke out the exhaust, and it would run rough.

Old ethanol fuel turns gummy/gelly and overtime swells the seat for the needle and fuel line. There’s screen in the tank as well.

Good one!

Mine starts and runs for a minute or so then cuts out. No clue why
