    Try putting your molds in the freezer with the clay in for a couple of mins or more and your buttons will be flat, Hope this helps x

    I've been wanting to make some clay gears for crafting mixed media stuff with (if I ever get back to doing that, heh), and this tutorial popped up on my suggestions list under molding with clay. Thanks for the tutorial, sis!! I wonder how well the air dry clay is going to work with it. Only one way to find out, huh? 😊😊

    Great video. I have a few Mold Muse molds. I tryed air dry clay and it really did distort when I popped them out. Have you ever used air dry clay?

    I would like to make porcelain flowers with the small molds like you have, I was told that Sculpey liquid clay is the same thing as liquid porcelain, is this true or do you know? I also would like to paint these flowers before I mold them, could I use water color paints or do I use acrylics that are oil based? I enjoyed your tutorial, it was very helpful and answered some questions I had.
    Thank You,
    Deborah

    Gr8 tips, was searching for idea's and found your channel.. So right about hard to find the right angle to video. I do hope you response to your comment's.. Question, is it light or heavy when done? TFS

      @shelleydwyer-murphy2281 7 років тому

      ThriftyCrafterMale They are fairly light with the small ones, bigger ones are, imho, a little heavy for card making, but that is just my opinion. I know people do ones the size of her pink or red one onto cards, but I haven't had luck with that. If you go on Pinterest, they tons of clay tutorials. Can search for ideas.

    @aliCscrap Well I went to JoAnn's and Michael's... seems like J's has slightly cheaper prices on the FIMO brand, but M's has more choices/varieties. Also, bummer, the etsy shop you got your molds from is closed for a family emergency :( I got some from a couple other etsy shops though... can't wait to try it out!

      Scott Preston Sure!

    • @shelleydwyer-murphy2281
      @shelleydwyer-murphy2281 7 років тому

      Scott Preston oh, wait, I meant you can mix clay colors to make custom colors, not food coloring or something! You have to practice to get shades you want. You buy soft covered clay books that show how to vary shades and such, or, can probably Google it.

    can I put a hole in it or drill it ? to make a bead or pendant?

    • @shelleydwyer-murphy2281
      @shelleydwyer-murphy2281 7 років тому

      Scott Preston I have not drilled baked clay. What I do is make a hole before baking. I bought these cocktail toothpicks that have a roung flat head. Makes a cleaner hole. I don't see why you couldn't drill it with your dremel. Wear safety glasses, and a surgical mask.

      You can make a mold mixing silicone from hardware stores and cornstarch.
      There are DYI on the subject on UA-cam.
      You can buy your silicone molds. They are much better than the homemade ones.
