Okay, my main problem with the flying mode is the fact the arms dont tab in, would it have really been hard to include a tab instead of having them hanging in the air?
When I was a kid a friend gave me Tracks because I loved Corvettes. 15 years later I bought an old 1981 Corvette, and a lot of that desire came from this G1 character. It looks fine in both modes but you are so correct, I'm always worried I'm going to snap a tab during transformation.
I feel like the transformation is a cross between SS86 Hotrod, and the masterpiece, I personally don't have an issue with the gapped legs when it does come out I will purchase him.
I ordered this off of Amazon about 2 weeks ago, and it only showed up 2 days ago. And my goodness this is one of the hardest Autobots to transform between vehicle and robot mode.

Appreciate your video man. Just got Tracks a couple days ago; and maaaaaan was I having issues with his transformation. Definitely appreciate the tutorial.
Easy fix. I shaved down the transparent tabs that are supposed to go under the hood. But not completely, I left a small amount of the tabs (one third or one quarter of the original lenght) and now it still holds everything firm in place AND is easy to press down AND releases easily with very little force required when bending down the hood for transformation into robot mode. The loose hips are on all releases. Floor or Nail Polish can take care of this. Additional Tip: Also shave down the two tabs which click into the front of the folded in fists \ the forearms. Shave them to exact half their original size. Makes the transformation from Car to Robot infinitely more pleasant, because getting the arms out doesnt require to uncomfortably bend the front of the Car around to get the forearms released.

I disagree. This figure is about 75% of what MP-25 was with a few things being simplified. Definitaly a mini-Masterpiece due to the bar set by MP-25 though and sadly evidence that we're still a fair way off from a definitive figure representation of Tracks.
Ok i understand that clear plastic is weaker but i had the original 2012 deluxe ratchet from tf prime and the clear plastic never snapped on him and i used him a lot. The only reason i dont have him is that his Ball joint on the hip snapped which isnt clear plastic
Not to make you break out the surgery tools but I’m pretty sure if you snipped the two pegs that come together under the hood so it’s more of a thoop connection as opposed to a click the two clear Under-hood tabs will hold the roof in just fine. I’ve noticed on a lot of figures hasbro doubles or triples the securing connections in pieces that didn’t need it, ironically usually on a figure that has a bad connection somewhere else
I think If they redesigned this as a slightly bigger, deluxe sized voyager, they could’ve made major improvements to the bot and flying car mode, particularly those ankles and use of clear plastic
I really like this figure. I'm not so concerned with the clear plastic. As for the feet, yeah they are bad, but most viewing angles make it hard to see those gaps.
The clear plastic is ok if you only display him and not transform him too much. If you transform him every so often, I can see the paint coming off or the roof cracking / breaking. Figures like this are for people like me as I either don't transform them at all or just once or twice. Just from this video, he looks very flimsy.
I learned the problems with clear plastic the hard way with SS car Dropkick, as the last time I transformed that the hinge on the very end of the car mode just crumbled with no warning. Why does Hastak keep using clear plastic that does literally nothing but compromise the structural integrity of a figure? Budgetary reasons?

Not just for the variety of C-clip adaptability, but also because it has turned out to be a hardy figure that I have had displayed (and played with often) all these years! Still as good as new, imagine that! Clear plastic bodes ill for Transformers particularly in the long run because being Transformers, and not merely action figures, the constant twisting, turning, pressing, and folding will eventually wear out the joints and connections/tabs. It is inevitable. Buying this means one must prepared (with high certainty) to not only break it, but also get their heart broken in the long run... Great, honest review, as always! Thank you!.
Damn, I was really looking forward to this guy too follow-up, 2 years later: I really like this guy now u have him in hand! His legs are finnicky, but all his modes look pretty good, in person!
He looks stunning but has some compromise. I think that leg transformation is really clever, but it’s also what creates the gap in the ankle. Definitely getting this guy but I do feel like Tracks should have been a voyager maybe. I noticed this the other day while watching Rodimus primal's video on Tracks, Tracks is actually one of the taller autobots when compared to prowl, sideswipe, etc. Like I know g1 and scale don't mix well but it's just something I noticed.
Immediately there was a problem in vehicle mode, I identified it and modded my figure. There’s 2 little half tabs on his legs that form together into one big tab that tabs in under the front of the windshield, something wasn’t molded right to fit at all, so the windshield wouldn’t tab to the hood. So I cut the tabs off of the legs and it fit just fine. They’re useless anyways since the windshield has little tabs that fit under the hood. An argument could be made that the windshield held the middle of the legs together better, but even without them, everything else that tabs together, does that job just fine. I tried my damndest to tab them into the square hole under the windshield, but it just wasn’t happening. The moment they were gone, there were no parts fighting for real estate and it all clicked together just fine.
I love this Tracks. Not sure why it didn't get more love from this review. The alt mode is damn near perfect. Maybe because my mold didn't have wobbly legs. I can understand some of the worry for the future, but I really feel this is a beautiful figure. The leg thing was kinda easy on mine, too? Just have to make sure it's positioned perfectly. I have more issues going to robot mode but I figured out if you unlock the arms and press upwards on bottom of the hood area, it unlatches easily.
@@AAX1975 Image? You mean you wrote some words. I don't care if you think your version is good. Many people like me and the reviewer had bad molds. We feel it's a piece of crap because that's what we got.
The flying car mode was never a mistransformation, it was always designed on purpose. Back in G1, Tracks was a main-line release of the nail away collection called Omnibots. There were three of them in this special set. One of them was called Camshaft, I cannot remember the other two. Like all other Transformers, they had vehicle mode, robot mode, and a special "Battle vehicle" mode (sort of like MASK toys). The flying car mode was the special battle mode for Tracks. I've never owned a Tracks, or any of the Onmibots, and it looks like I'm going to pass this one up too. That roof canopy is really putting me off of it, when it cracks and breaks, it would be pointless to keep it. Anyway, I just thought that you'd like to know.
Virtually everything you have said here after the first sentence pertaining to Tracks is incorrecrt. The Omnibots were comprised of Camshaft, Downshift and Overdrive, yes they had a third attack mode, but Tracks was never an Omnibot, nor was he a part of the Double Changers Diaclone sub-line which the Omnibots originated from. Tracks originated in the Car Robots Diaclone sub-line and yes, the figure was always designed to have a third mode, even going as far back as the Diaclone toyline. Also you might find it interesting to note that technically Tracks is a recolour of Roadrage, rather than then other way around, as the original Diaclone version of the figure was in Roadrage's colours.
Tracks is one of my favorite characters from G1. i have him on preorder. it is a shame he has all those flaws and is so gappy. Maybe they should have taken more ques from that actual G1 figure. also all that clear plastic makes me cringe. I havnt had any clear plastic break on me yet from my other figures but i the cockpit hinge on my titans return Wolfwire broke on me, right after i got the retro reissue. i was transforming him to wolf mode to compair them and *SNAP*. Great review as always and you do a good impression of G1 Tracks =)

@@AAX1975 Image? You mean you wrote some words. I don't care if you think your version is good. Many people like me and the reviewer had bad molds. We feel it's a piece of crap because that's what we got.
I mean, at least we get forward/back foot articulation...
Yea as an animator I’ll definitely take a gap if it gives me that
Whats the music playing in the intro?
I think Tracks’ vehicle mode is like a Corvette mixed with a Porsche. That’s awesome
I can't wait to I get my hands on tracks..
I just bought him today. He was loose. The colors are nice. He looks badass. The ankle gap kinda bummed me out. But he looks good in both bot and vehicle mode. A solid 5
I’m really excited to get this figure
I was literally just rewatching chefatrons video of tracks lmao
Nice review. Can't wait to get my hands on him.
