    About Me:
    Hi, I'm Louise! I started this channel in 2009 after readers of my blog (also called Sprinkle of Glitter) suggested I give UA-cam a try. I was instantly hooked and have found my internet playground on here. I make videos about beauty & fashion, positive living, motherhood, lifestyle and occasionally have special guests (friends, kittens or my sweet Daughters Darcy, 8 and Pearl, 2). Hit the subscribe button to never miss a video again!
    I try to upload every Wednesday evening and Sunday at 9am!
    I chat every day on my other social media (linked above) so do come and say hi!
    Big hugs,
    Louise xxx

    First off, I'm a teacher. I have no children of my own and I absolutely COULD NOT do what you do. 6 hours of children, 5 days a week is more than enough for me. Second, having taught in lots of different areas, I see children from all different types of backgrounds and families and sadly, many of them aren't nearly as cared for or as loved as your lovely girls. I know as grown ups we always focus on what else we could be doing, but trust me, children don't see things that way. On Monday when Darcy goes to school and talks about her weekend, she'll tell her teacher that her amazing mummy dressed her and her sister in cute matching outfits and took them treasure hunting. She'll say that her mum drove her to a birthday party for one of her friends, even though it was a long way away. And at the end of the day, mum still had time and energy to snuggle before bed.
    I know it's so easy to focus on mess or the to-do list (teacher-guilt is a thing too!) but when they're older, they'll remember the love, not the state of the kitchen or the garden. They won't even remember that tomorrow. Have a wonderful week, you're doing great.

    Ok I love how she checks with darcy before putting her on camera. Many don’t do that with their kids and insist they’ll do it when they’re older 💕💕

      Megan Lynch but she doesn’t know what she is consenting to. It’s a good start though 😀

    • @amyd7301
      @amyd7301 4 роки тому +8

      Doesn’t really make a difference when Darcy doesn’t understand what she’s consenting to though. I get that it would make Louise feel better about using her kids for her content but it’s quite redundant

    • @Kat-xk4qr
      @Kat-xk4qr 4 роки тому +15

      Cinders considering Louise has been doing this with Darcy since she was very small, this is part of life for her and she knows what she’s consenting to. There’s been times when Darcy has said she doesn’t want to be filmed and she isn’t filmed so I think she’s old enough to know the difference.. regardless of if she does or now anyway, she’s being taught the important of consent anyway

    • @amyd7301
      @amyd7301 4 роки тому +5

      Kathryn Williams 94 I think you’re highlighting the issue here though. Because she’s been filmed and put onto the internet ever since she was a baby, she considers it ‘normal’, but that isn’t normal for the average child. I don’t think a child of any age can be expected to understand the true ramifications for being online her whole life, be it safeguarding or otherwise. I hope this made sense, English is not my first language

    • @chantellekilborn3693
      @chantellekilborn3693 4 роки тому +2

      To be fair though 90% of kids are online nowadays. Yes it may not be UA-cam but pictures on Instagram or Facebook or twitter when your profile is set to public have the same affect and potential outcome as a UA-cam video.

    Louissseee please don't feel guilty about not having a cooking/tidying segment in every single vlog! This vlog made me feel cozy and relaxed after a somewhat stressful week and feeling out of place in a new home. Not a mum but a carer for my mother! And yes there are times I let things slide usually because of dodgy knee. I am slowly going through the house now and winning, as the last 18 months I've been on crutches etc with knee. We have to be our own best friend: if our friend said 'oh its terrible I haven't done this...' we would tell them not to worry; just relax!. Be kind to yourself and well as everyone else.

Not having a tidy house or doing some cooking comes second to you feeling your best, especially when you have two little ones to look after. Hi Louise,
    I'm 19, dont have any children yet but want to be a mum at some point. Please dont ever feel guilty about your house, whatever the state. A house isn't a home if its perfect, the joy of living is to be able to look at mess and say, its okay becuaee the mess created becomes memories, pearl playing with her toys is bound to make mess, but shes having the time of her life. and please dont feel like you have to have any specific segments. your vlogs are what make me calm and destress before the dreaded monday of work and i know that me a a lot of your audience just like to watch you and your style of vlogging. and i dont want to say we dont care 😅 but we enjoy your videos no matter the content because youre a lovely homey person that does a lot of good in others lives. you always call us good eggs, but youre also a good egg so dont feel guilty, because you will forever be a good egg 😊 hope that helped and thankyou for always being something to aspire to 💕

    I have no kids, I work part time, I wake up around 1pm (on a good day 😂) and spend most of my time in my pj's on the sofa. Hope this makes you feel less guilty ❤

    I live in a small town and we have 10 Charity shops on the main shopping road. I love browsing in them and find so many unique items.

    Don't feel guilty at all , no one is perfect, we don't watch these vlogs to see how tidy your house is we watch because it's a family feel and it's lovely, I feel like I should tidy my room more but it's just making the effort at times , it's human nature ! We all do it 💜

    I'm sure we're all sitting here with untidy living rooms and dishes unwashed and meals uncooked because we're tired, or just can't be bothered right now. And that's ok, nothing bad will happen if we don't, that's just how life is sometimes. Other days you'll feel like the energiser bunny and want to tidy and cook and do all the things. It comes and goes in waves, no point in pushing yourself if you don't feel like doing it :) Also at 5:57 I've always called these pussy willows :)

    You're doing great. And you're doing what you can for your family and children. Even though you are a mother, you're still allowed to feel human and express how you feel, whether that be to all of us, Judith, Esther, Liam, or whomever else.
    You're doing great, and the fun part of the weekly is that it's a calming video where we get to hang out with you. Your oldies, but goldies are still gonna be here, regardless if you tidy your kitchen or hang out with your friends. That's just the way life it. It's ups, downs, and you have chosen to share it with us. We enjoy it because we enjoy you. :)
    I know it's hard to not be hard on yourself because you're a perfectionist of trying to improve your content, but it's alright to be a human and not just a creative robot. We love and appreciate you either way.
    And someone at work yesterday starting singing, "Guess who's back?! Back again!" And I only knew that reference because of you, not the Eminem song. lol

    When I am asked by my children to tell a story, I often tell them Disney tales so that I don’t need to make anything up. When I tell them about the Little Mermaid, I describe it in the EXACT same way. It’s ludicrous for her to leave everything behind for a boy she had never spoken to when she made her decision. I deeply enjoyed you and Darcy’s commentary on that part.
