I would say more 1 and a half seasons rather than 2 seasons. Cause the scene when Will destroys "Castle Byers" is one of the most underrated and emotionally charged scenes of season 3. It broke my heart, I just want the best for that kid!.
The frustrating thing is that they dropped his arc completely that season. They wrote him a heartbreaking subplot about his friends abandoning him, he's so distraught he destroys his childhood hangout, and then... it's forgotten entirely and he just goes to help the others fight demons. He even shuts Lucas down later when he tries to apologise, because the story no longer has time for Will, so they just dump the conflict entirely.
@@robbiesmith8055 I wouldn't say it's forgotten of. They put Will's character in a stasis. I believe they purposely froze his character development so that they could play it out in the final season, and I think the upside down being frozen in 1983 is directly linked to Will in some way.
@@drakenfist I don't know if I have *that* much faith in the Duffers to have underutilised him for two seasons for a grander purpose; given he's not the only character who's been neglected the past couple seasons, I think it's more an unfortunate consequence of having a cast this big. But given he's set for a bigger role next season, this is their opportunity to right the ship. I just hope they also give more attention to other forgotten characters (here's looking at you Mike and Jonathan), and that Will's bigger role doesn't come at someone else's expense screentime-wise.
@@robbiesmith8055 The thing that interests me about the California crew is that they are all stuck. Johnathan's arc through out the last few seasons and especially in this season, amounts to resembling "the clash" song he and Will sung in season 1: "Should I stay or should I go". Mike's arc is indecision and Will is stuck on trying to figure out who he is and his place. What we do know is that season 5 is going back to it's roots and Will is going to be a big focus. I am hopeful that they will end it well.
I hope so. Given that Will (and Mike and Jonathan) had basically nothing to do in season 4 it will be nice to see them actually a part of the story again.
The Duffers say they want to go back to the core group of the 4 boys and Eleven next season, so hopefully that will give Mike more focus and remind us why he's supposed to be 'the heart'. And since they've confirmed Will will have a bigger role, hopefully that means a more meaningful arc for Jonathan by proxy, because if Will's really going through it next season Jonathan's gonna be there for him.
Nothing to do? Traveling across the country to find El. Then rescue her in the nick of time. Then get her a water pool (freezer) to help her fight and save Max. That's not basically nothing 🤦🏼♂️😅
@@ironicly__iconic Sure, they did a lot, however Screen Time wise they barely did anything. Yes, they achieved a decent bit, but I'd have liked to have seen more substance on the screen and gotten more opportunities for character growth. We could have gotten much more scenes, like a chase scene in the car, or them visiting various establishments like a gas station, restaurant, hotel, etc. Maybe they get exhausted of the car and decide to risk taking a detour for a break and try something new, considering they're in the middle of nowhere without rules. It'd have been so cool to see the characters coming out of their shells. Mike, Will, and Jonathan, have all had issues with acting on their true feelings and sacrifice themselves for others, the potential for them to say F it and let go for awhile and self indulge would have had immense potential. Overall, Their part of Season 4 was in my opinion the biggest letdown, considering it was the part I was most excited for.
@@YourMomsAltAccount isn't it funny that they actually did the MOST important thing by finding Eleven, preparing her the salt bath and making her find Max so she could try to save her and fight Vecna at the same time, but they were given less screen time than the Steve and Nancy's lingering looks?!?!?! I just find it extremely weird and funny at the same time, but the Cali group just stole the show for me (Will's speech to Mike and Jonathan talking to Will were my two fav scenes)
It also just baffles me that they saw what they had on their hands with Noah Schnapp in season 2... and then never gave him anything interesting to do again. He did an amazing job with all the possession stuff, but the only chances he's gotten to show what he can do since were destroying Castle Byers in 3 and the talk in the van in 4.

@@jin2k290 There's a difference between being the focal point of an entire season and simply having important things to do. I agree that with an ensemble this large it's only fair to share the spotlight, but you can remove a character from the main role without rendering them useless. Dustin and Steve, for example, have never been focal characters, but they've still had a major role in almost every single season, and they've never felt like superfluous additions to the story. Mike, Will and Jonathan on the other hand were major players in season 1, only to spend this whole season on a bland road trip, and their only contribution to the finale was kneeling around a salt bath. There's a difference between letting characters take on a smaller role to allow others to shine, and not giving them anything interesting to do at all.
I would absolutely love to see Will have a major role in Season 5, he's such an underrated character with a ton of potential, not only for relationships between characters but definitely to help bring down Vecna. I think Vecna will definitely try to use Will's feelings (specifically for Mike) against him, and I think Will's feelings about everything will become addressed in some way or have some sort of arc. Either way, I just want Will to be happy for once, honestly.
We need another season for will Byers because he's literally underrated and plus his connection to the upside down is still here and he might get possessed by mind flayer again. maybe
But his connection isn't more so to the Mind Flayer now but i think he has more of a connection to Vecna even before the character was introduced to the series.
Mike also pulled Will out of the potential horror in the movie theater in season 3. It's definitely a pattern. I don't doubt at all that it will come up again.
I honestly feel that Will And Lucas have a bigger role in the final season considering the duffers haven't explored either one of them in depth , now with max in a coma and will having a major connection and the duffers hinting at a journey through the mind to retrieve max's soul and Lucas protecting max's physical body while they try to retrieve her soul but that's what I want I. guess
I hope will and mike both become bigger characters this season, they both haven’t had focus or been major dudes since season 1. Mike is just attached to Eleven and nothing else, what is he outside of her? I wanna see him become the leader again, the heart as Will called him, have him show how he’s the heart by despite seeming obsessed with Eleven to the point where he ignored his other friends in season 2, he has evolved and knows all about them despite that. Have him support Lucas with Max and Dustin with Eddie, despite him not being there when those things happened. Show him as the true emotional support he can be like he was with Eleven in season 4. And with Will, give him fucking superpowers, I swear to god it makes too much sense not to give him powers to control parts of the upside down with his connection to the mind flayer and vecna. I wouldn’t mind if they just said he had powers like Eleven and Vecna, because that would be sick, and he just never awakened them due to being too scared / the connection never being strong enough or something like that. And have him, with Vecna seemingly weakened at the end of season 4, awaken his powers and fight alongside Eleven. Think about it, it fits so well story wise. Eleven had someone who she saw as an older brother, who cared and taught her, who supported her but ultimately betrayed and hurt her. While Will is the actual brother she never had in 001, and having him also have those powers connects them more and shows that these kids with powers still exist, and that maybe it was never coincidence that Will went missing, that Vecna always had a plan for him, or always saw something in him. I would love both of these to happen as I feel like it would bring the series full circle with Mike and Will showing their growth, but still being the same people we have followed across the series.
Also may I mention, Vecna is of course a Lich, an undead wizard, how fitting would be to have the only other member of the party mentioned as a wizard, Will, being the one to overcome and stand the high ground as mentioned in this video.
it would seem kinda forced if Will had powers like Eleven's it would just seem like "oh here you go Will has powers even tho it's completely unnecessary " but I kinda like the idea of Will just had some kinda spy like connection that he goes along with Vecna's game and Vecna gives him some type of power but he uses them against Vecna at the end and him and El save the world or sum but yk since it's the Duffer Brothers that probably won't happen

To be honest, Mike and Eleven weren't even really together in season 2 except the last episode and even then they were mostly separated again because Hopper took Eleven to close the gate while Mike stayed with Steve and the others to first deal with Billy then go to the tunnels. Season 2 definitely had Mike be by Wills side the whole time.
im so glad season 4 was so interesting, and that it gave so many opportunities for people to talk about what might happen next. i feel like the first 3 seasons kind of ended without any unanswered questions as far as monsters and the mindflayer, but season 4 deliberately leaves a lot of things unanswered and gives viewers of the show the ability to come up with theories on their own. every other seasons ending kind of just tied everything up with the season coming after it showing something new, but season 4 actually shows the new thing before the next season even starts (the upside down entering the real world)
yeah he fr deserves a long life filled with being loved and cared for:( love him sm and feel so bad for him… I can relate so well to him he just wants some appreciacion for being the only one to hold the group together. hes gone thru so much but is still always putting others before himself. I hope his "friends" finally stop treating him like sht… they still dont even see him for how powerful he is. I want it to be his time to shine now becoming the hero or at least getting some credits for being the real heart of the group. I cant stand the others not caring about him at all and treating him like this dumb emotional lil boy while hes the only one that actually cares. also will and jonathans relationship is just so heartwarming it breaks me I don’t think I would survive any of the two dying.
I really really hope the Duffers give Will a bit of a break. He's so tragic and I want to see him become the badass hero for once. He deserves it after all the crap he's been through. I'm rooting on Will.

I think there will be a scene where vecna brings will to his mind lair and shows him the memories of his friends unintentionally emotionally scaring him for example: mike saying, It’s not my fault you don’t like girls!
Maybe he's not trying to possess Will, but he wants Will to join him like he did Eleven. Maybe he saw himself in Will, but Will is too kind and he refused to join him so Vecna just left him thinking he would either change his mind or die.
I don’t think so tbh. I mean, Will has no powers. It’s never been hinted at, or mentioned in any interviews of any kind. It would just be incredibly out of nowhere. After Henry’s monologue to Eleven, we see what he thinks of the world. He hates the structure of it, the people who live blissfully in it. The whole reason he wanted El was because he did see himself in her. Her potential to surpass the other ‘copies’ of him Brenner made. Will just doesn’t fit the bill to be apart of Henry’s plans more than being a host.
I believe Will is the reason the upside down is a reflection of Hawkins in 1983. He was not bleeding when he was taken. He wasn’t killed while in the upside down. His body was being used as a host and kept alive in stasis. Why? Vecna can move things, and create illusions like El and Eight respectfully. But he can’t create. What if under another telepath’s influence, Will’s Power activates. To make illusions tangible and real. When pulled into the upside down, his intense emotion of fear, made Vecna’s projection of Hawkins in his mind real.
You put it perfectly. I think Vecna's power is to decay, to kill and consume, and Will's power could be to create. They are opposite sides of the same coin as reflected by all of the parallels shown this season. I also think his power is more of a spiritual one than what we've seen with everyone else, and it needs the right conditions to be able to show itself. Eleven was able to save Max's physical body from dying, maybe Will will be able to return her soul and wake her from the coma.
I also believe that this is somewhat true. It was mentioned multiple times that Henry consumes. So who else was taken in the upside in season 1? Barbara was also taken but what about her memories. Was she simply killed off or did something else happen before that?

For a long time I also thought Will (and Noah Schnapp as an actor) were underutilised by the show ... ... but at some point I realised that this is just showing his personality (and even more importantly his suppressing of his personality) in a very direct way. He ISN'T the prominent character that always wants to be in the action. He is an introvert who on top of that suppresses his personality which kind of requires his character to be not front and center to really work. I do however hope SO MUCH that he will be the real focus for the first time in Season 5 as he finally stops suppressing his personality and (at least in that is what I think) the powers he got the moment Vecna took over his mind. Him not being front and center the seasons prior will make that moment, when he finally embraces his true self that much more impactful (at least I feel that way) Because I think personally that ever since season 2 where Vecna infiltrated his mind he had powers BUT he couldn't use them because he was suppressing his personality which also suppressed all of his powers (except the one of feeling the connection to Vecna and everything he is connected to). It's very similar to Eleven suppressing her powers after what she did at the lab (this is the period between the Flashback of Season 4 and her introduction in Season 1 where she seemed to have forgotten all her powers). In other words once he finally becomes himself he will have the same powers Henry had during season 2, when he entered Wills mind.
I just saw that Will’s ”neck tingle” didn’t actually show up in Season 3. He had it in Season 2 you can see it when he goes outside his house and the mind flayer is there. He just started to touch his neck in Season 3 bc if he didn’t No one would notice. Exactly how No one noticed that he had the tingle in Season 2
I think people largely attribute it to season 3 because that's when it became relevant. Will knows he's sensing the Mind Flayer (now Vecna) because he's felt it before (in S2), but he only starts using it as an alarm bell in the 3rd season.

There's no way they're going to kill Max next season after her fakeout death in S04. Loads of people are already annoyed that they brought her back at all, so if it turned out that she's just going to die eventually anyway, what was the point in diminishing the impact of her first 'death'? If they didn't want Max to survive the series, she would have died for good in S04.

Lol sorry but you probably need to emotionally prepare yourself for season 5. I feel reasonably comfortable that Joyce, Hopper and Jonathan will be fine, but there's almost no way both Will and Eleven survive the finale. One of them's almost certain to go.
@@JonclaireMusa I don't think they're both dying, but it's gonna be one of them. My money's on Will, because I think killing El hurts the arcs of more characters than just her. We met Hopper when he was grieving his daughter, so to end his arc with him grieving another dead child feels like an unlikely mood. And Mike's arc for 3 seasons now has entirely revolved around overcoming obstacles in his relationship with El, so I struggle to see an ending for him without her in it. Jonathan's main arc on the other hand has always concerned Nancy, and Will has nothing to do with his love triangle. And Joyce's main relationship for the last 2 seasons has been the one she has with Hopper rather than with either of her kids, so Will's death doesn't completely cancel out a happy ending her for; at least she'd still have Jonathan and Hopper.
I gotta say THANK you SO MUCH because me and my friend are big fans of Will, we adore him, and personally, Season 3 almost killed ALL my interest in the show because of how they just. Tossed Will to the side. We've been theorizing pretty much the same stuff you have (with a bonus if I may pick your mind, of thinking about how Max would also be the perfect possession target as right now she is nothing but an empty shell in a hospital bed) and it feels so VALIDATING to have someone else who has been paying as much attention as we have. Im terrified that they'll kill him, because it would in all honesty be entirely in character. But I just... More than anyone, HE deserves a happy ending, a REAL happy ending. I know the Duffers cant satisfy everyone and thats how its gonna be no matter what, but I desperately just.... I want something happy for him.
I've had a feeling for a while now that will is the shows actual polar opposite to Henry. They angle things to make it seem like El is Henry's opposite but if you think about it, she was someone in the program to create psychic soldiers. She wasn't really set up to be his nemesis, he focuses on her because she banished him and he wants revenge.. At any rate Will has always been kind, caring and put others first, he's been deliberately pushed into the background to move the spotlight well away from him. My thoughts on how the opposition of the two manifests is that Will can pull and draw on the power of those around him. He can basically enhance his own abilities just by being close to those he has bonded with. Vecna on the other hand absorbs the power of those he kills, this gives him the distinct disadvantage of always fighting alone. Will drawing on others abilities without having to consume them gives him the distinct advantage of running with a party. He's basically always been the party leader too. It was always Will trying to hold the group together, he's the core of the party similarly to how Mike is the heart of the party and El is the soul of the party..

So Dustin giving Eddies charm to his father I think gave Dustin that closure to get that off his chest and tell Eddies father about what happened, and labelled him a hero
The Duffers have said Will will have a big focus, and they also want to go back to the season 1 core group of the 4 boys plus Eleven. If El and Will are both going to be in that group, there's a decent chance it'll be the 'main' group of next season, like the Hawkins gang were in S04.
Yeah i think that wills connection is going to play a big role in finding and spying on vecna. I reckon its kind of going to be the opposite of season 2 where the mindflayer spyed through will
I feel like the writer shadowed out Will for the past 2 season on purpose. Maybe he's been hiding something, (his feelings for Mike and maybe something else) and doesn't know how communicate it to the others, or cant because he is in the grasp on Vecna.. if that is the case that is brilliant writing wise. Can't wait for season 5!
The parallels between Vecna and Will are eerie. And I genuinely believe he was born with powers, just like Henry, possibly the reason why the Demogorgon took him and was unable to kill him…unlike Barb. I also want him to be the one who kills Vecna
The parallels are something to be explored for sure, but Will having powers? It would just be so cheap, and I cannot see the Duffers doing it. I mean it’s never been hinted at, no indication of it happening via interviews, in the show, or by the actors.
I get so into it and so excited to bang through a full ST season the weekend it’s released. Then talking about it & rewatching it for a while. Then I get sad when I realize HOW.FREAKING.LONG it’s been between seasons!! What a great show. Hopper is the best. And I’ve been in love with Winona since I was a kid.

If Vecna really wanted to break Will, the way to do it would be through Mike. Either arranging for Mike to be killed in a way that Will blames himself for, or by manipulating Mike into completely rejecting Will.
I can see Vecna controlling Will when the group thinks they have the upper hand and using him to kill those closest to him. But seeing as we haven’t seen anything done with time travel that they have been hinting I can see 11 turning back time to undo the deaths with the exception of one.

Expanding on what you said about Vecna using Will when the group thinks they have the upper hand, I think it would be interesting if it comes as a consequence of them using Will's true sight to their advantage. The better Will gets and the more they use him, the more Vecna takes notice. As far as we know, it's probably a two-way connection, so he might wait until the worst possible moment to turn the tables and exploit that connection for his own gains.
Sidelining will was clearly intentional to me since i think hes gonna play an enormous role in the final season. I also believe Kali is also gonna play a huge role. Im feeling a Will gains power vibe with the end being Kali, Elevelen & Will vs Henry
My theory is that Mike will die because he is the heart and Eleven’s strength/weakness. Will is still connected to the upside down (Vecna) which means that Vecna knows that Mike is Eleven’s weakness. So Vecna will try and kill Mike but maybe Will sacrifices himself and closes the gate forever.
I really hope so. Will is so important, I don't know why everyone forget about him. I think will will be the key to defeating the mindflayer. Remember the campaigns in season 1? I was foreshading that will was caught by the demogorgon, but what happened when he defeated the mindflayer? maybe we'll see it on S5. maybe will have a huge role to help eleven to defeat vecna. Or, in instead for being possessed, he somehow manages to possess or spy on mindflayer to use against vecna. And I really hope he develops some kind of power, because he should. He's so similar to harry, it can't be a coincidence! I also wonder what Bob told him, that he face his nightmares. He couldn't do it in S2, but what if he does it in the last season? it would be quite emotional. It started with will and ended with will. I just hope he doesn't die, he deserves to have a happy ending at least for once
I have some theories about stranger things that might be different to what everyone is thinking. 1. Will is going to confess to Mike about why he is acting like he hates girls and has been that shy. It isn't because he's gay, he could still be a child deep down and he has turned into an introvert. He was wanting to play D&D one last time before he grows up. 2. He could be the one that could save everyone if Will can mimic vecna's powers and use them against Vecna. He might be passing the powers to max as well to be on el's level to end Vecna as a trio they are. 3. Mike and Jonathan might be the ones to aid the trio in the 5th season in case if the battle is still going on, the possibilities are endless. 4. El could sacrifice herself to save Hawkins for everyone. 5. It could be the possibility that ST Season 5 might not be the last one but Season 6 might be the final one at that time.
I don't believe that Mike would choose El over Will based on several things Season 1 Mike and Joyce were the only two people taking Will's disappearance seriously even after they found his "body" they both refused to believe it was him and Mike ran home and broke down in his mom's arms. Mike had a binder full of Will's drawings that he got over the years, when Will went missing, he trace his fingers across the lines Season 2, we learnt from Mike that asking to be frineds with Will at the playground was the best decision he's ever made. Later when they were out trick or treating, Mike was the first to notice Will was missing and as shown in the video, Mike is always the one to pull Will to safety. Afterwards, Dustin/Lucas tried to grab Will but Mike pushed them away saying "I got him. I got him." and told Will that he's taking him home which we later found out by "home", Mike was referring to his house. This is when Mike and Will had a heart to heart and they both admitted to feeling like they're going crazy where Mike asked "If we go crazy, we'll go crazy together?" Later in the season in 2 occasions Mike slept near Will's side despite the fact at this point its basically confirmed that Will is possessed and can easily attack him in his sleep. In S3, I can't really defend Mike here on how he treated Will, but I can comment on how he treated El. This is the season where El and Mike broke up, when they did break up, Max believed that Mike would've been depressed and would crawl back apologizing. But, Mike was in his basement with the boys eating chips and laughing at his own burp compared to when Will left during a rainstorm, Mike instantly chased after him At the end of season 3, when Mike and El and the Wheelers were leaving Hawkins, everyone said their goodbyes and when it was time for Mike, Dustin and Lucas to leave, Mike paused and looked back at Will's house and then later he returned home where he hugged his mom the same way he did in Season 1 when he thought he lost Will. Season 4, we learn that during the course of the months they had been split, Mike was depressed and was in his room playing Super Mario Bros.most of the time. In episode 1 we saw Mike in outfits that wasn't typical for him to wear. When he saw Will he gave him an awkward side hug and asked about the painting and then later while they were walking, Mike and Will looked at eachother before they both looked away. So at this point tensions were high between them Later on after El was hiding, sobbing, Mike lashed out at Will explaining how Will was acting gloomy and sarcastif the entire day and saying that HE ruined the day. Will expressed how he felt like a third wheel all day and that Mike didn't talk to him. Mike said whatever and walked off but afterwards Will asked "What about us" and Mike assumed that Will thought they were anything more than friends which Will corrected stating they used to be best friends and then Mike said Will should've reached out more. The thing is, Mike did try calling Will because later in the season, we learnt from Dustin that Mike was whining about not being able to contact Will so Mike was probably mad that Will wasn't reaching out to him. In episode 2, Mike and Will had a second heart to heart where Mike confessed that Hawkins wasn't the same after Will left and that he wanted to be a team again, "friends, best friends" Also, remember how I said Mike kept a bunch of Will's drawings (which we also see on his wall in Episode 1 s4) We see on two occasions, Mike crumpled up El's letters and threw them away. In the Van scene, we saw the drawing Will made for Mike which basically showed how Mike was protecting him. So i in good concious can't see Mike ever choosing to save El over Mike when he's always been protective of him

I can see them going this route. I don't like the theories being tossed around that he'll get full on superpowers, because seeing Eleven primal scream her way to victory over and over again got old fast, and I don't really want them doing that to any other characters. But I can see Eleven using what she knows to help Will gain control over the connection with Vecna/his true sight so they can Spy on Vecna properly.

I also feel like if Vecna uses Will’s feelings for Mike against him, Robin, Jonathan and Mike could be the ones to help and save him. They represent 3 parts of his personality: his sexuality, love and dedication to family. Again have there is another connection between Willa sun Vecna. Will is stuck in the past and wants to stay playingD&D forever with his friends. The upside down is also stuck in the past on the day Will was taken which is the last day he okayed D&D before being kidnapped. Interesting
If you realized wipl got a nose bleed like el while useing her powers he bleeded from his nose in the last couple minutes from the very last episode while looking at the portals I think el will help him to use his powers

I know many people are expecting a villain arc but Will might set an example of defeating the evil with goodness.. Like a hero!! He has suffered a lot & has been sidelined for 2 seasons straight when he could have been one a major arcs as he has a deep connection with the upside side & can lit feel Vecna's & the mind flayer whether its their feelings or way of thinking.. Thats a huge weapon alongside Eleven's power.. They should totally explore that! I also wonder why he was kept away from Hawkins in S4.. So yess i am def looking forward to Will being the main character in S5.. There are so many questions to his connection w/ vecna & upside down & tbh why him? How he survived a whole week in the UD? How he connected w/ Joyce when he was in the other dimension? Did Vecna really targeted him or was he at the wrong place at the wrong time? Why is he still connected w/ the mind hive? Why he wasnt dragged to the UD like Barb & killed instantly? I really hope duffer bros will touch on these loose ends!! Yess i agree Will has gone thru a lot and we wish no more sufferings but tbh we really need to see him in some serious action, in short take revenge! Tbh i dont like it when people say Will is the weakest character. The bravery he has shown since season1 episode 1 is something they have forgotten.. He dealt perfectly with the thing that was coming after him, he/ showed enough courage to load a gun & was so ready to shoot. But not his fault that thing teleported itself behind him! Then he was tormented by the mind flayer w/ the visions. Still he held his ground firm! He confronted the beast but it got him.. He was possessed! He even survived the upside down for a whole week. He def has some powers or some mysteries revolving his character! The similarities between Henry & Will! His character can lit aspire so many amazing storyline for season 5!! Tbh Noah as an actor is amazing but his potential wasnt utilized properly!

Lol you're in luck. The Duffers have explicitly said they want to go back to the four boys and Eleven as an ensemble to bring things full circle next season. Though you might be out of luck with Steve, Robin and Nancy being together; they've been saying how they want to bring back a lot of season 1 groups, so it's unclear if Jonathan and Nancy will be part of a larger group or if they'll be their own unit.
I don’t think Will is going to get fully possessed on season 5 I believe he will turn into a villain like Vecna. Meaning Vecna will find him and talk to him into making him a villain like himself. He will manipulate Will the way he tried to manipulate Eleven but failed. I feel Vecna will be successful in manipulating Will into making him a new villain and try to attack his friends. Or he will be a new superhero like Eleven and be more powerful than Vecna and Eleven and defeat the monsters. That’s what I feel will happen

I think that the problems Henry had in school was that he was doing the bullying of other kids, not that he was bullied for being different. It’s the Tom Riddle thing. When Tom Riddle was introduced in CoS, fans assumed he was bullied as a kid. Then HBP came along and we found out he was the bully. Henry described himself as a predator. And of course, Will was bullied for being different and never wishes harm on anyone. Hopefully, the people that won’t be satisfied are going to just be the whiny homophobes that won’t shut up since Noah confirmed it. Here is my guess. Be an is El’s dad, El will be able to use Max towards defeating Vecna, and oh Eddie isn’t dead I think Eddie is going to be a hand for vecna and then when the team really needs him he turns on vecna because of Dustin. Karen is Vecna’s sister and that might be his weak spot and el being his daughter brings out the little humanity he has left which will be the way the Stranger Things team wins. I honestly have this worry in the back of my head that after Max had such amazing character development in Season 4 and then they're just gonna turn around and have her be in a coma during all of season 5 and then just have her show up at the end when everything's over, or even worse just have her die in the end without waking up at all. Your speculation that she might get powers actually gives me some new hope, because I was honestly really excited when Max and El teamed up against Vecna even if it was only El who put up a good fight. If Max wakes up and gets powers, maybe she could have some sort of ability where she has heightened hearing now that she's blind, and could use her psychic powers to float herself around since her limbs are broken. If Max and Will both get powers, it'd be really cool to see the three of them fighting Vecna together. One can only dream.
I feel like I’m season 1 and in season 2 we didn’t even see the real will in season 1 he was gone in the upside down and in season 2 he was possessed for a lot of the season then in season 3 we saw some of who he was we only got a little bit of character and he brushed aside by every character in season 4 it was nice to see more of will and his personality but will still didn’t understand like we understand the other characters

Steve dies saving Dustin(Finally) 6. Whole wheelers family will die(As Nancy mentioned saw in s4 including mike) 7. Evil eddie kills dustin and hopper 8 El and will fights and will ends up dead 9. El vs vecna goes for final battle 10. El sacrificed herself to save whole Hawkins
Eh I think you are overthinking this quite a lot. I don't think Vecna ever targeted Will in Season 1. Will coming across the Demogorgon at all was completely random, it could have been any kid or person that happened upon it. The demogorgon takes Barb just the same only she wasn't able to escape from it. Will just hid the entire time in the Upside Down which is why he survived as long as he did. If Vecna is going to use Will as his endgame, why then would he string him up on the wall and get the slug put in him? He would die just like Barb did. Had Hopper and Joyce not rescued him, this would have been his fate. It's very possible had Barb escaped somehow, she would have shared this connection same as Will. Let's not forget the Demogorgon had the ability to open portals in S1 yet the Russian demogorgon nor Vecna can enter the physical world this way. There was no greenlight for S2 upon the release of S1, so they obviously had to kind of retcon all this, or at the very least there are some plot holes from the first season. Yes Will is likely to play a larger role in the last season, but I think it will mostly be the team up with Mike and close friends from that aspect. I think Max and 11 will ultimately be more influential on the overall Vecna plot.
I bet you because he is supposed to play a much bigger part is that he is going to get powers and Eleven will have to kill Will to be able to save the day since it started with Will and I think it’s going to end with Will and yeah the theory on him getting powers would be really awesome I would love for him to have a villian arc I mean the way he is treated he deserves one… I have a feeling for a more really twisted ending is that since in the painting that Will drew for Mike is that Mike and the others are fighting a dragon I reckon he has the same powers as 001 and create things in the upside down through what he draws… In the picture Mike is fighting the dragon this is a bit dragging away form the main focus but what if the dragon and Will are pretty much connected since Will drew it and Mike had the sword and is leading the group will have to destroy it maybe also destroying Will in the process I know this is just on the tip of the nose but there is many possibilities that could happen because Will and 001 are so similar now looking back on it plus he was 001 main target from the start I also think he might get cursed like Max because they might use the way he has been struggling with his sexuality for a while now and has went through trauma these things can lead to Will getting cursed and maybe ending up like Max or while in Vecnas mind maybe having no choice but to join sides with him… damn I wrote a lot

I would say more 1 and a half seasons rather than 2 seasons. Cause the scene when Will destroys "Castle Byers" is one of the most underrated and emotionally charged scenes of season 3. It broke my heart, I just want the best for that kid!.
The frustrating thing is that they dropped his arc completely that season. They wrote him a heartbreaking subplot about his friends abandoning him, he's so distraught he destroys his childhood hangout, and then... it's forgotten entirely and he just goes to help the others fight demons. He even shuts Lucas down later when he tries to apologise, because the story no longer has time for Will, so they just dump the conflict entirely.
@@robbiesmith8055 I wouldn't say it's forgotten of. They put Will's character in a stasis. I believe they purposely froze his character development so that they could play it out in the final season, and I think the upside down being frozen in 1983 is directly linked to Will in some way.
@@drakenfist I don't know if I have *that* much faith in the Duffers to have underutilised him for two seasons for a grander purpose; given he's not the only character who's been neglected the past couple seasons, I think it's more an unfortunate consequence of having a cast this big. But given he's set for a bigger role next season, this is their opportunity to right the ship. I just hope they also give more attention to other forgotten characters (here's looking at you Mike and Jonathan), and that Will's bigger role doesn't come at someone else's expense screentime-wise.
@@robbiesmith8055 The thing that interests me about the California crew is that they are all stuck. Johnathan's arc through out the last few seasons and especially in this season, amounts to resembling "the clash" song he and Will sung in season 1: "Should I stay or should I go". Mike's arc is indecision and Will is stuck on trying to figure out who he is and his place. What we do know is that season 5 is going back to it's roots and Will is going to be a big focus. I am hopeful that they will end it well.
I hope so. Given that Will (and Mike and Jonathan) had basically nothing to do in season 4 it will be nice to see them actually a part of the story again.
The Duffers say they want to go back to the core group of the 4 boys and Eleven next season, so hopefully that will give Mike more focus and remind us why he's supposed to be 'the heart'. And since they've confirmed Will will have a bigger role, hopefully that means a more meaningful arc for Jonathan by proxy, because if Will's really going through it next season Jonathan's gonna be there for him.
Nothing to do? Traveling across the country to find El. Then rescue her in the nick of time. Then get her a water pool (freezer) to help her fight and save Max. That's not basically nothing 🤦🏼♂️😅
@@ironicly__iconic Sure, they did a lot, however Screen Time wise they barely did anything. Yes, they achieved a decent bit, but I'd have liked to have seen more substance on the screen and gotten more opportunities for character growth. We could have gotten much more scenes, like a chase scene in the car, or them visiting various establishments like a gas station, restaurant, hotel, etc. Maybe they get exhausted of the car and decide to risk taking a detour for a break and try something new, considering they're in the middle of nowhere without rules.
It'd have been so cool to see the characters coming out of their shells. Mike, Will, and Jonathan, have all had issues with acting on their true feelings and sacrifice themselves for others, the potential for them to say F it and let go for awhile and self indulge would have had immense potential. Overall, Their part of Season 4 was in my opinion the biggest letdown, considering it was the part I was most excited for.

It also just baffles me that they saw what they had on their hands with Noah Schnapp in season 2... and then never gave him anything interesting to do again. He did an amazing job with all the possession stuff, but the only chances he's gotten to show what he can do since were destroying Castle Byers in 3 and the talk in the van in 4.

@@jin2k290 There's a difference between being the focal point of an entire season and simply having important things to do. I agree that with an ensemble this large it's only fair to share the spotlight, but you can remove a character from the main role without rendering them useless. Dustin and Steve, for example, have never been focal characters, but they've still had a major role in almost every single season, and they've never felt like superfluous additions to the story. Mike, Will and Jonathan on the other hand were major players in season 1, only to spend this whole season on a bland road trip, and their only contribution to the finale was kneeling around a salt bath. There's a difference between letting characters take on a smaller role to allow others to shine, and not giving them anything interesting to do at all.

I would absolutely love to see Will have a major role in Season 5, he's such an underrated character with a ton of potential, not only for relationships between characters but definitely to help bring down Vecna. I hope will and mike both become bigger characters this season, they both haven’t had focus or been major dudes since season 1. Mike is just attached to Eleven and nothing else, what is he outside of her? I wanna see him become the leader again, the heart as Will called him, have him show how he’s the heart by despite seeming obsessed with Eleven to the point where he ignored his other friends in season 2, he has evolved and knows all about them despite that. Have him support Lucas with Max and Dustin with Eddie, despite him not being there when those things happened. Show him as the true emotional support he can be like he was with Eleven in season 4. And with Will, give him fucking superpowers, I swear to god it makes too much sense not to give him powers to control parts of the upside down with his connection to the mind flayer and vecna. I wouldn’t mind if they just said he had powers like Eleven and Vecna, because that would be sick, and he just never awakened them due to being too scared / the connection never being strong enough or something like that. And have him, with Vecna seemingly weakened at the end of season 4, awaken his powers and fight alongside Eleven. Think about it, it fits so well story wise. Eleven had someone who she saw as an older brother, who cared and taught her, who supported her but ultimately betrayed and hurt her. While Will is the actual brother she never had in 001, and having him also have those powers connects them more and shows that these kids with powers still exist, and that maybe it was never coincidence that Will went missing, that Vecna always had a plan for him, or always saw something in him. I would love both of these to happen as I feel like it would bring the series full circle with Mike and Will showing their growth, but still being the same people we have followed across the series.
Also may I mention, Vecna is of course a Lich, an undead wizard, how fitting would be to have the only other member of the party mentioned as a wizard, Will, being the one to overcome and stand the high ground as mentioned in this video.

To be honest, Mike and Eleven weren't even really together in season 2 except the last episode and even then they were mostly separated again because Hopper took Eleven to close the gate while Mike stayed with Steve and the others to first deal with Billy then go to the tunnels. Season 2 definitely had Mike be by Wills side the whole time.
im so glad season 4 was so interesting, and that it gave so many opportunities for people to talk about what might happen next. i feel like the first 3 seasons kind of ended without any unanswered questions as far as monsters and the mindflayer, but season 4 deliberately leaves a lot of things unanswered and gives viewers of the show the ability to come up with theories on their own. every other seasons ending kind of just tied everything up with the season coming after it showing something new, but season 4 actually shows the new thing before the next season even starts (the upside down entering the real world)

Maybe he's not trying to possess Will, but he wants Will to join him like he did Eleven. Maybe he saw himself in Will, but Will is too kind and he refused to join him so Vecna just left him thinking he would either change his mind or die.
I don’t think so tbh. I mean, Will has no powers. It’s never been hinted at, or mentioned in any interviews of any kind. It would just be incredibly out of nowhere. After Henry’s monologue to Eleven, we see what he thinks of the world. He hates the structure of it, the people who live blissfully in it. The whole reason he wanted El was because he did see himself in her. Her potential to surpass the other ‘copies’ of him Brenner made. Will just doesn’t fit the bill to be apart of Henry’s plans more than being a host.
I believe Will is the reason the upside down is a reflection of Hawkins in 1983. He was not bleeding when he was taken. He wasn’t killed while in the upside down. His body was being used as a host and kept alive in stasis. Why?
Vecna can move things, and create illusions like El and Eight respectfully. But he can’t create. What if under another telepath’s influence, Will’s Power activates. To make illusions tangible and real.
When pulled into the upside down, his intense emotion of fear, made Vecna’s projection of Hawkins in his mind real.
You put it perfectly. I think Vecna's power is to decay, to kill and consume, and Will's power could be to create. They are opposite sides of the same coin as reflected by all of the parallels shown this season.
I also think his power is more of a spiritual one than what we've seen with everyone else, and it needs the right conditions to be able to show itself. Eleven was able to save Max's physical body from dying, maybe Will will be able to return her soul and wake her from the coma.
I also believe that this is somewhat true. It was mentioned multiple times that Henry consumes. So who else was taken in the upside in season 1? Barbara was also taken but what about her memories. Was she simply killed off or did something else happen before that?

For a long time I also thought Will (and Noah Schnapp as an actor) were underutilised by the show ...
... but at some point I realised that this is just showing his personality (and even more importantly his suppressing of his personality) in a very direct way. He ISN'T the prominent character that always wants to be in the action. He is an introvert who on top of that suppresses his personality which kind of requires his character to be not front and center to really work.
I do however hope SO MUCH that he will be the real focus for the first time in Season 5 as he finally stops suppressing his personality and (at least in that is what I think) the powers he got the moment Vecna took over his mind.
Him not being front and center the seasons prior will make that moment, when he finally embraces his true self that much more impactful (at least I feel that way)
Because I think personally that ever since season 2 where Vecna infiltrated his mind he had powers BUT he couldn't use them because he was suppressing his personality which also suppressed all of his powers (except the one of feeling the connection to Vecna and everything he is connected to). It's very similar to Eleven suppressing her powers after what she did at the lab (this is the period between the Flashback of Season 4 and her introduction in Season 1 where she seemed to have forgotten all her powers).
In other words once he finally becomes himself he will have the same powers Henry had during season 2, when he entered Wills mind.
I just saw that Will’s ”neck tingle” didn’t actually show up in Season 3. He had it in Season 2 you can see it when he goes outside his house and the mind flayer is there. He just started to touch his neck in Season 3 bc if he didn’t No one would notice. Exactly how No one noticed that he had the tingle in Season 2
I think people largely attribute it to season 3 because that's when it became relevant. Will knows he's sensing the Mind Flayer (now Vecna) because he's felt it before (in S2), but he only starts using it as an alarm bell in the 3rd season.

Loads of people are already annoyed that they brought her back at all, so if it turned out that she's just going to die eventually anyway, what was the point in diminishing the impact of her first 'death'? If they didn't want Max to survive the series, she would have died for good in S04.

We met Hopper when he was grieving his daughter, so to end his arc with him grieving another dead child feels like an unlikely mood. And Mike's arc for 3 seasons now has entirely revolved around overcoming obstacles in his relationship with El, so I struggle to see an ending for him without her in it.
Jonathan's main arc on the other hand has always concerned Nancy, and Will has nothing to do with his love triangle. And Joyce's main relationship for the last 2 seasons has been the one she has with Hopper rather than with either of her kids, so Will's death doesn't completely cancel out a happy ending her for; at least she'd still have Jonathan and Hopper.
I gotta say THANK you SO MUCH because me and my friend are big fans of Will, we adore him, and personally, Season 3 almost killed ALL my interest in the show because of how they just. Tossed Will to the side. We've been theorizing pretty much the same stuff you have (with a bonus if I may pick your mind, of thinking about how Max would also be the perfect possession target as right now she is nothing but an empty shell in a hospital bed) and it feels so VALIDATING to have someone else who has been paying as much attention as we have. Im terrified that they'll kill him, because it would in all honesty be entirely in character. But I just... More than anyone, HE deserves a happy ending, a REAL happy ending. I know the Duffers cant satisfy everyone and thats how its gonna be no matter what, but I desperately just.... I want something happy for him.

I've had a feeling for a while now that will is the shows actual polar opposite to Henry. They angle things to make it seem like El is Henry's opposite but if you think about it, she was someone in the program to create psychic soldiers. She wasn't really set up to be his nemesis, he focuses on her because she banished him and he wants revenge..
At any rate Will has always been kind, caring and put others first, he's been deliberately pushed into the background to move the spotlight well away from him.
My thoughts on how the opposition of the two manifests is that Will can pull and draw on the power of those around him. He can basically enhance his own abilities just by being close to those he has bonded with. Vecna on the other hand absorbs the power of those he kills, this gives him the distinct disadvantage of always fighting alone. Will drawing on others abilities without having to consume them gives him the distinct advantage of running with a party. He's basically always been the party leader too. It was always Will trying to hold the group together, he's the core of the party similarly to how Mike is the heart of the party and El is the soul of the party..
i think Dustin could be a viable host/possesion by vecna like how he did max due to guilt over not being able to save Eddie

The Duffers have said Will will have a big focus, and they also want to go back to the season 1 core group of the 4 boys plus Eleven. If El and Will are both going to be in that group, there's a decent chance it'll be the 'main' group of next season, like the Hawkins gang were in S04.

The parallels between Vecna and Will are eerie. And I genuinely believe he was born with powers, just like Henry, possibly the reason why the Demogorgon took him and was unable to kill him…unlike Barb. I also want him to be the one who kills Vecna

I get so into it and so excited to bang through a full ST season the weekend it’s released. Then talking about it & rewatching it for a while. Then I get sad when I realize HOW.FREAKING.LONG it’s been between seasons!! What a great show. Hopper is the best. And I’ve been in love with Winona since I was a kid.

If Vecna really wanted to break Will, the way to do it would be through Mike. Either arranging for Mike to be killed in a way that Will blames himself for, or by manipulating Mike into completely rejecting Will.
I can see Vecna controlling Will when the group thinks they have the upper hand and using him to kill those closest to him. But seeing as we haven’t seen anything done with time travel that they have been hinting I can see 11 turning back time to undo the deaths with the exception of one.

Expanding on what you said about Vecna using Will when the group thinks they have the upper hand, I think it would be interesting if it comes as a consequence of them using Will's true sight to their advantage. The better Will gets and the more they use him, the more Vecna takes notice. As far as we know, it's probably a two-way connection, so he might wait until the worst possible moment to turn the tables and exploit that connection for his own gains.
Henry resembles Will a lot to me, both physically and in character. Will is what Henry would have been if he wasn't so isolated in his own mind
Sidelining will was clearly intentional to me since i think hes gonna play an enormous role in the final season. I also believe Kali is also gonna play a huge role. Im feeling a Will gains power vibe with the end being Kali, Elevelen & Will vs Henry

My theory is that Mike will die because he is the heart and Eleven’s strength/weakness. Will is still connected to the upside down (Vecna) which means that Vecna knows that Mike is Eleven’s weakness. So Vecna will try and kill Mike but maybe Will sacrifices himself and closes the gate forever.

They'd BETTER not have him confess his love for Mike in his dying moments after sacrificing himself. I'd never forgive them.
I have some theories about stranger things that might be different to what everyone is thinking.
1. Will is going to confess to Mike about why he is acting like he hates girls and has been that shy. It isn't because he's gay, he could still be a child deep down and he has turned into an introvert. He was wanting to play D&D one last time before he grows up.
2. He could be the one that could save everyone if Will can mimic vecna's powers and use them against Vecna. He might be passing the powers to max as well to be on el's level to end Vecna as a trio they are.
3. Mike and Jonathan might be the ones to aid the trio in the 5th season in case if the battle is still going on, the possibilities are endless.
4. El could sacrifice herself to save Hawkins for everyone.
5. It could be the possibility that ST Season 5 might not be the last one but Season 6 might be the final one at that time.

I don't believe that Mike would choose El over Will based on several things
Season 1 Mike and Joyce were the only two people taking Will's disappearance seriously even after they found his "body" they both refused to believe it was him and Mike ran home and broke down in his mom's arms.
Mike had a binder full of Will's drawings that he got over the years, when Will went missing, he trace his fingers across the lines
Season 2, we learnt from Mike that asking to be frineds with Will at the playground was the best decision he's ever made.
Later when they were out trick or treating, Mike was the first to notice Will was missing and as shown in the video, Mike is always the one to pull Will to safety. Afterwards, Dustin/Lucas tried to grab Will but Mike pushed them away saying "I got him. I got him." and told Will that he's taking him home which we later found out by "home", Mike was referring to his house.
This is when Mike and Will had a heart to heart and they both admitted to feeling like they're going crazy where Mike asked "If we go crazy, we'll go crazy together?"
Later in the season in 2 occasions Mike slept near Will's side despite the fact at this point its basically confirmed that Will is possessed and can easily attack him in his sleep.
In S3, I can't really defend Mike here on how he treated Will, but I can comment on how he treated El.
This is the season where El and Mike broke up, when they did break up, Max believed that Mike would've been depressed and would crawl back apologizing. But, Mike was in his basement with the boys eating chips and laughing at his own burp compared to when Will left during a rainstorm, Mike instantly chased after him
At the end of season 3, when Mike and El and the Wheelers were leaving Hawkins, everyone said their goodbyes and when it was time for Mike, Dustin and Lucas to leave, Mike paused and looked back at Will's house and then later he returned home where he hugged his mom the same way he did in Season 1 when he thought he lost Will.
Season 4, we learn that during the course of the months they had been split, Mike was depressed and was in his room playing Super Mario Bros.most of the time.
In episode 1 we saw Mike in outfits that wasn't typical for him to wear. When he saw Will he gave him an awkward side hug and asked about the painting and then later while they were walking, Mike and Will looked at eachother before they both looked away. So at this point tensions were high between them
Later on after El was hiding, sobbing, Mike lashed out at Will explaining how Will was acting gloomy and sarcastif the entire day and saying that HE ruined the day. Will expressed how he felt like a third wheel all day and that Mike didn't talk to him. Mike said whatever and walked off but afterwards Will asked "What about us" and Mike assumed that Will thought they were anything more than friends which Will corrected stating they used to be best friends and then Mike said Will should've reached out more.
The thing is, Mike did try calling Will because later in the season, we learnt from Dustin that Mike was whining about not being able to contact Will so Mike was probably mad that Will wasn't reaching out to him.
In episode 2, Mike and Will had a second heart to heart where Mike confessed that Hawkins wasn't the same after Will left and that he wanted to be a team again, "friends, best friends"
Also, remember how I said Mike kept a bunch of Will's drawings (which we also see on his wall in Episode 1 s4) We see on two occasions, Mike crumpled up El's letters and threw them away.
In the Van scene, we saw the drawing Will made for Mike which basically showed how Mike was protecting him. So i in good concious can't see Mike ever choosing to save El over Mike when he's always been protective of him

I can see them going this route. I don't like the theories being tossed around that he'll get full on superpowers, because seeing Eleven primal scream her way to victory over and over again got old fast, and I don't really want them doing that to any other characters. But I can see Eleven using what she knows to help Will gain control over the connection with Vecna/his true sight so they can Spy on Vecna properly.
my theory is jason didnt die when the gate split him open. jason was sent to the upside down. i think he will return as one of vecnas victims, but eventually he will turn on vecna after realizing what vecna did to chrissy.

I also feel like if Vecna uses Will’s feelings for Mike against him, Robin, Jonathan and Mike could be the ones to help and save him. They represent 3 parts of his personality: his sexuality, love and dedication to family.
Again have there is another connection between Willa sun Vecna. Will is stuck in the past and wants to stay playingD&D forever with his friends. The upside down is also stuck in the past on the day Will was taken which is the last day he okayed D&D before being kidnapped. Interesting

True, we need Will the Wise & the Wizard to have a bigger role or go hand in hand w/ eleven in the next season. I know many people are expecting a villain arc but Will might set an example of defeating the evil with goodness.. Like a hero!! He has suffered a lot & has been sidelined for 2 seasons straight when he could have been one a major arcs as he has a deep connection with the upside side & can lit feel Vecna's & the mind flayer whether its their feelings or way of thinking.. Thats a huge weapon alongside Eleven's power.. They should totally explore that!
I also wonder why he was kept away from Hawkins in S4.. So yess i am def looking forward to Will being the main character in S5.. Tbh i dont like it when people say Will is the weakest character. The bravery he has shown since season1 episode 1 is something they have forgotten.. He dealt perfectly with the thing that was coming after him, he/ showed enough courage to load a gun & was so ready to shoot. But not his fault that thing teleported itself behind him! Then he was tormented by the mind flayer w/ the visions. Still he held his ground firm! He confronted the beast but it got him.. He was possessed! He even survived the upside down for a whole week. He def has some powers or some mysteries revolving his character! The similarities between Henry & Will! His character can lit aspire so many amazing storyline for season 5!!

Though you might be out of luck with Steve, Robin and Nancy being together; they've been saying how they want to bring back a lot of season 1 groups, so it's unclear if Jonathan and Nancy will be part of a larger group or if they'll be their own unit.

I don’t think Will is going to get fully possessed on season 5 I believe he will turn into a villain like Vecna. Meaning Vecna will find him and talk to him into making him a villain like himself. He will manipulate Will the way he tried to manipulate Eleven but failed. I feel Vecna will be successful in manipulating Will into making him a new villain and try to attack his friends. Or he will be a new superhero like Eleven and be more powerful than Vecna and Eleven and defeat the monsters. That’s what I feel will happen

I think that the problems Henry had in school was that he was doing the bullying of other kids, not that he was bullied for being different. It’s the Tom Riddle thing. When Tom Riddle was introduced in CoS, fans assumed he was bullied as a kid. Then HBP came along and we found out he was the bully. Henry described himself as a predator.
And of course, Will was bullied for being different and never wishes harm on anyone.

Karen is Vecna’s sister and that might be his weak spot and el being his daughter brings out the little humanity he has left which will be the way the Stranger Things team wins. For me,it would be great to see will as a villain(at first)like having telekinisis like el, teaming up with vecna and taking revenge bc he was very sad in the previous seasonsand his friends treated him badly..But then seeing jonathan playing will's fav song (should i stay or should i go) and change his mind and defeat vecna with the powers he gave him..will is so sweet,caring and kind..he is my fav character and he will always be
I honestly have this worry in the back of my head that after Max had such amazing character development in Season 4 and then they're just gonna turn around and have her be in a coma during all of season 5 and then just have her show up at the end when everything's over, or even worse just have her die in the end without waking up at all.
Your speculation that she might get powers actually gives me some new hope, because I was honestly really excited when Max and El teamed up against Vecna even if it was only El who put up a good fight. If Max wakes up and gets powers, maybe she could have some sort of ability where she has heightened hearing now that she's blind, and could use her psychic powers to float herself around since her limbs are broken. If Max and Will both get powers, it'd be really cool to see the three of them fighting Vecna together. One can only dream.
I feel like I’m season 1 and in season 2 we didn’t even see the real will in season 1 he was gone in the upside down and in season 2 he was possessed for a lot of the season then in season 3 we saw some of who he was we only got a little bit of character and he brushed aside by every character in season 4 it was nice to see more of will and his personality but will still didn’t understand like we understand the other characters

Eh I think you are overthinking this quite a lot. I don't think Vecna ever targeted Will in Season 1. Will coming across the Demogorgon at all was completely random, it could have been any kid or person that happened upon it. The demogorgon takes Barb just the same only she wasn't able to escape from it. Will just hid the entire time in the Upside Down which is why he survived as long as he did. If Vecna is going to use Will as his endgame, why then would he string him up on the wall and get the slug put in him? He would die just like Barb did. Had Hopper and Joyce not rescued him, this would have been his fate. It's very possible had Barb escaped somehow, she would have shared this connection same as Will. Let's not forget the Demogorgon had the ability to open portals in S1 yet the Russian demogorgon nor Vecna can enter the physical world this way.
There was no greenlight for S2 upon the release of S1, so they obviously had to kind of retcon all this, or at the very least there are some plot holes from the first season. Yes Will is likely to play a larger role in the last season, but I think it will mostly be the team up with Mike and close friends from that aspect. I think Max and 11 will ultimately be more influential on the overall Vecna plot.

I bet you because he is supposed to play a much bigger part is that he is going to get powers and Eleven will have to kill Will to be able to save the day since it started with Will and I think it’s going to end with Will and yeah the theory on him getting powers would be really awesome I would love for him to have a villian arc I mean the way he is treated he deserves one… I have a feeling for a more really twisted ending is that since in the painting that Will drew for Mike is that Mike and the others are fighting a dragon I reckon he has the same powers as 001 and create things in the upside down through what he draws… In the picture Mike is fighting the dragon this is a bit dragging away form the main focus but what if the dragon and Will are pretty much connected since Will drew it and Mike had the sword and is leading the group will have to destroy it maybe also destroying Will in the process I know this is just on the tip of the nose but there is many possibilities that could happen because Will and 001 are so similar now looking back on it plus he was 001 main target from the start I also think he might get cursed like Max because they might use the way he has been struggling with his sexuality for a while now and has went through trauma these things can lead to Will getting cursed and maybe ending up like Max or while in Vecnas mind maybe having no choice but to join sides with him… damn I wrote a lot
