- I made a huge charcoal fired smoker to take camping and smoked 20 slabs of ribs for under $100! Plans for the smoker are at the end of the video. We used simple materials available at your local hardware store.

Whether it is for a big event, camping, or cabin life your BBQ and cooking options are only limited by your imagination. This is what happens when a bunch of Eagle scouts get together to camp as adults.
I did a similar build which worked darn good.. Difference was mine I actually double walled and insulated..and lined/wallpapered ALL the interior surfaces with heavy foil. Doing that one avoids the fumes coming off the adhesives in the wood. All my grates were supported by aluminum angle. I also used ceramic tiles over the "burn box" as a deflector instead of sheet metal you used. I also had it set up so once the meat came to around 170ish (it will not gain any more smoke flavor).. I could turn on propane burners just to hold temp constant until the end of the cook. Being insulated it did not loose too much heat and was lots more efficient than my steel offset smoker. The heat stayed in the box where it belonged.
I love it “no whining around the smoker box” that was epic. lol.
"No whining near the smoker box" that's one Experienced Polack.
"No whinning around the smoker box"🤣😂😂😂😂 great job on your build!
When you do the montage of pics, you could extend the sounds of the kids chattering for the ambience factor
I am a little concerned - when plywood gets hot, the glue used to laminate it gives off a poisonous gas. Also, that galvanized sheet metal you are using will give off poisonous gas if it gets hot enough. I doubt you are getting the sheet metal hot enough to matter, but the plywood is not a great idea.
YA I WAS GOING TO SAY THE SAME THING
I was thinking the same exact thing.
I would have thought just grabbing an old medium size refrigerator and changing that into a smoker would be better.... and cheaper.
But hey! Who am I to slam somebody if they want to make it their way?
Kudos to this guy for his woodworking skills. His work looks one hell of a lot better than mine would have.
600 degrees to affect zinc
im more concerned about the sandals and socks combo.
Delicious. Best Jon idea ever!
Hey funny seeing you the dark side of UA-cam... Unfortunately, this didn't work for me... I could a cook one maybe two Jews at a time, back to the drawing boards on my budget crematorium for me i guess. Great concept though, just not practical at this stage of the game.
I can't even with you this time Dan. lol. you got me i can't top that.
Looks like a great time Tommy! Got excited when I saw that coffee cup!! Lol
Nice design. I'd be worried about the chemicals in the glues leaching that hold the plywood together.
"No whining around the smoker box...." Well said.
holy !!!thats a great idea for a smoke house
Not if you know what's in plywood glue...
One question did you build that smoker with pressure treated wood or non pressure treated wood
Awesome video!
