    Love the light displays and this song SO MUCH, I'm glad I'm not driving! I'd probably run right off the road! If you've seen the USS Kidd version, I'd also, probably drive off the pier!

    When you do the montage of pics, you could extend the sounds of the kids chattering for the ambience factor

    Nice design. I'd be worried about the chemicals in the glues leaching that hold the plywood together.

    I did a similar build which worked darn good.. Difference was mine I actually double walled and insulated..and lined/wallpapered ALL the interior surfaces with heavy foil. Doing that one avoids the fumes coming off the adhesives in the wood. All my grates were supported by aluminum angle. I also used ceramic tiles over the "burn box" as a deflector instead of sheet metal you used. I also had it set up so once the meat came to around 170ish (it will not gain any more smoke flavor).. I could turn on propane burners just to hold temp constant until the end of the cook. Being insulated it did not loose too much heat and was lots more efficient than my steel offset smoker. The heat stayed in the box where it belonged.

    This is foolish and dangerous. The plywood is not food safe. It is made with a ton of toxic glues which I am sure will seep out into your meat. Secondly, galvanized metal releases toxins when it gets hot enough (and you have it right over the flame). I would advise NO ONE to do this.

    • @canecutter77
      @canecutter77 4 роки тому

      I agree; I can appreciate the ingenuity, but there are other 'cheap' materials which can be sourced without the toxicity issues.

    Socks and sandals!

  • @wardchristman2296
    @wardchristman2296 6 років тому

    I am a little concerned - when plywood gets hot, the glue used to laminate it gives off a poisonous gas. Also, that galvanized sheet metal you are using will give off poisonous gas if it gets hot enough. I doubt you are getting the sheet metal hot enough to matter, but the plywood is not a great idea.

    • @russf6572
      @russf6572 5 років тому

      I was thinking the same exact thing. I would have thought just grabbing an old medium size refrigerator and changing that into a smoker would be better.... and cheaper. But hey! Who am I to slam somebody if they want to make it their way? Kudos to this guy for his woodworking skills. His work looks one hell of a lot better than mine would have.

    Hello, what are you running for lights and controllers.

    • @jchuchla
      @jchuchla 7 років тому

      This question would take volumes to fully answer. There's so much different equipment involved in this show. But in short, I use Vixen 3 to create all of the content. (I'm one of the developers of the software) Hardware connected to the lights include: 2 SanDevices E681; 1 Advatek PixLite4; 1 Falcon F16V2, 1 DIYLEDExpress Bridge,;2 ESPixelSticks; 4 Komby Sandwiches; 9 Komby RF1s; 5 RFColor24; 4 RenardPlus 32s, 12 DirkCheapSSRs; and a partridge in a pear tree.If you're local and would like a behind the scenes tour, let me know and we'll arrange something.

    Thank you very much for the detailed comments. People don't often realize that the slow songs often take more artistic work than the fast ones. And these are the songs I'm most proud of. If you liked this one you'll probably like my versions of "Let it Go" and "Mary, Did You Know?"I never got live video of the latter due to how cold it got after i finished it. But I could do a screen video of the preview if you wanted to see it.

    Very, Very Nice!! Your ability to sync the light action with this Manheim version is terrific. Suppose being on the inside of Vixen Lights helps, but your natural feel for the music and the serenity of the occasion comes through "loud and clear." Richard
