Assynt has to be the most stunning place in Scotland, fantastic video Charlie. Hope to be up that neck of the woods later this summer. It has always been my goal to summit Suilven!

I agree as I've yet to see a better view than standing on Stac Pollaidh on a clear sunny morning. Climbed it early on Tuesday 17th May 2022. One of the best days of my life👍

A stunning mountain I first climbed it in 1957 by the “direct route” whereas the last time around 10yrs ago we were directed around the N side due to erosion of the S side. Fir once the diversion proved tobe unexpectedly scenic. Due to failing eyesight that would be my last time.

Hi Keith, It would certainly be a different experience climbing in 1957, even getting to the foot of the tops would have been a challenge 👏 There would be no manufactured or well worn paths in those days. Well done.... the love of the hills is always with you. Cheers

You’re right, it does look like a mini Matterhorn from that angle! I was there on a similar weather day, and didn’t quite make it to the final, true summit. I didn’t realize you could go down to get around that small tower, I thought the only way was to climb over it! Wonderful video, brings it all back to me.

A fantastic wee mountain, my 3rd ever climb after Lomond and the cobbler! A great place with some superb mountains, well worth a visit! Cheers Charlie for another great video. Mark.

Yet another outstanding video. Thanks Charlie for posting these. I climbed Stac Pollaidh in ca 1995, and confess negotiating the so called mauvais pas, coming down, was one of the few times I got into difficulty in the hills, and that is one who has climbed all the Munros including the Inn Pin on Sgurr Dearg solo.

Hi Malcolm, Stac Pollaidh is maybe a small craggy top but certainly earns respect when scrambling across the summit ridge. Looking forward to another trip up this year during our Ullapool holiday week. Cheers, Charlie.

I like your cunning bypass of the exposed polished crest route...looks much safer! I'
m going up in a few weeks and might go for that route, particularly if it's windy or wet :-)

Hi Chris, It’s a better option if things are damp or breezy. Have a great trip to this mini mountain. Cheers, Charlie

Very inspiring. Many thanks. Just shows that it need not be a Munro to be a great outing.
