- Welcome back! This is Jon's FD RX-7 that he's been driving for about 10 years, after a history of RX-7 ownership and Japanese experiences overseas with his R32 GTR led him to to the pinnacle of rotary. He initially built this car for the track, but once the paint was completed to a stellar standard and FD values began to rise, he reconsidered. However instead of abandoning all driveability, he created a show car that's just as happy on the red carpet as it is out here on an empty desert road. Enjoy!

The RHD FD3S cars did not all have rear seats, the RZ (highest spec with Recaro full bucket carbon kevlar front seats) had just the rear bins like the USA cars. Also, the Type R models had rear bins as well as with the bottom spec Bathurst spec.

I wouldn't want to deal with the owning a rotary myself . But as far as eye candy goes , any FD that hasn't been turned into a veilside looks good to me . 👌

Theres very little done mechanically to make this car reliable, and when you pop the hood, it just doesnt fit the super aggressive, time attack body kit and aero.
I’m honestly surprised that these FD-series RX7’s aren’t selling for more. It’s got to be because of the unreliable and puny rotary engine. It just can’t compete with the 2JZ. But I remember in the early 00’s how popular they were. Everyone wanted one, and it was rare to even see one back then.
Why can’t it compete with a 2j? In what sense. And why would you want them to sell for more than they are? These unobtainable prices are not a flex.
Mine makes 600bhp at 940kg - will beat most supras
