One the hardest hitting Slayer songs. It's like a war in itself. You are right Lilly, Slayer paints a vivid picture of the horror of war both lyrically and musically.

Seasons In The Abyss, as a whole, is a perfect album. I was 12/13 years old when I got into metal, way back in 1992, after seeing Anthrax on Married With Children. I still remember, shortly after that, coming across, by pure accident, Headbangers Ball on MTV one late Saturday night/early Sunday morning back in 1992, and one of the first videos I ever saw was for Seasons In The Abyss (the Title Track), and then going out shortly after that and buying that album/CD. I will never forget putting in that CD, and hearing that first track, War Ensemble, for the first time! I'm 44 years old now, had to have emergeny, life or death, brain surgery back in September of 2020, and even though my memory is now all jacked up, especially my short-term memory, I can still, so vividly, recall that whole entire scenario. Cannot believe that was all 31 years ago now!! Where the h**l has the time gone to??? Lol. 🤷

I can relate to your memory struggles. Back in '93 I fell off the side of a cliff. Coma for 1 1/2 months. 1/2 of it was induced, but... LOL
Can't specifically remember the first time I heard Slayer, but I was about 13 years old. Hooked on Slayer all through my teens and after.

U should check out an Earlier Slayer song called "Hell Awaits". If u wanna know what it sounds like going to hell then u should listen to that song!!! If they listen to music in Hell .......they listen to Slayer 🤟

I have to give you props, you are a fucking genius. I've been watching your Slayer reactions and you have educated me to so much of their songs meanings. While being a Slayer fan my entire life at 47 years old. And your extracting meanings I was clueless too is amazing and I love it. I just always loved the drums and energy, if you've ever been to one of their concerts the amount of energy built up inside you as they prepare to come on stage is indescribable. You'll never be as pumped up in your life as you would be at a Slayer concert. Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do Skeletons of Society

This has always been one of my favorite Slayer tunes, and watching this reaction opened the floodgates of feeling in a new way. I liked your perceptive take on the whole idea of war. I become more and more of a pacifist as I get older, but at the same time I openly acknowledge my fascination with violence in music, film and video games. The odd complexities of the human condition, I suppose.

I like this channel, it's funny . A few suggestions in Heavy metal:
    - the underrated band W.A.S.P "Kill your pretty face" (their darkest song ) or a power ballad like "Forever free" .
    - the unknow band Dangerous Toys with "Demon Bell" or "Scared"
    - absolute must listened Sepultura with "Roots" or "Arise"
    - Guns'n roses " "Paradise City" or "Chineese Democracy"
    - Some Cyner Metal for a try? Like Tyrant of Death "the infernal Aphelion"
    Best regards :)

    Yeah!!! Great reaction!!!
    Hi Jenny !!!
The first things I want to tell you are...Hold!! Do not change!! Keep It up!!!! I tell you this because I am sadly watching many reaction channels disappear on YT, and I hope that your channel stays alive for a long time and that it grows, more, more and more.
I have been following you for some time but I have never written to you because: (1) I am quite shy with people I don't know, and (2) I have little time, and (3) muy english smells like a dead ratt inside a dead cat.
I would like to make you a recommendation, if you allow me...
In many of your videos, I think I remember, you say how much you like the sound of guitars And, in this sense, I think that one of the best songs (probably number one) I can recommend its Stars from Hear n Aid.
I'll tell you a little bit:
Since you are very young, I want to recommend this song from 1985 (I'm sure that in that year you weren't even a little person project) and maybe you don't know.
    HEAR N'AID - "STARS"
The Hear n' Aid project was metal's response to pop music charities such as Band Aid and USA For Africa; whose organizers had not invited anyone from hard rock/metal (as almost always, very reviled) So the metalheads did it on their own.
Hear n' Aid was founded in 1985 by Ronnie James Dio, a long-time contributor to numerous charitable projects over the years. Hear n' Aid didn't get much media coverage and didn't achieve box office sales like Band Aid or USA for Africa, but it generated a respectable amount of revenue.
Ronnie James Dio (Dio/Black Sabbath/Rainbow/Elf), Jimmy Bain (Dio/Rainbow) and Vivian Campbell (Dio/Def Leppard) were responsible for writing "Stars", the single originally written that would help generate income for the hunger.
In May 1985, Dio gathered more than 40 hard rock/metal musicians from around the world, and they recorded the song "Stars."
The following is a list of lead vocals:
    Ronnie James Dio: from Dio
Dave Meniketti: from Y&T (Yesterday & Today)
    Rob Halford: from Judas Priest
    Kevin Dubrow: from Quiet Riot
Eric Bloom: from Blue Oyster Cult
    Paul Shortino: from Rough Cutt
    Geoff Tate: from Queensryche
    Don Dokken: from Dokken
The highlight, for me, is the guitar solo, which consists of 7 chained guitar solos, in turn divided into several parts, but perfectly united so that it almost seems like a single solo. The transitions are perfect. And, although it is quite long, I am sure it will stay in your head.
    GUITAR SOLOS:
    - 1st solo in 4 parts: Craig Goldy/Eddie Ojeda/Craig Goldy/Eddie Ojeda (from the bands Giuffria/Twisted Sister)
    - 2nd solo in 3 parts: Vivian Campbell/Brad Gillis/Vivian Campbell (from the bands Dio/Night Ranger)
    - 3rd solo in 3 parts: Neal Schon/George Lynch/Neal Schon (from the bands Journey/Dokken)
    - 4th solo in 3 parts: Yngwie Malmsteen/Vivian Campbell/ Yngwie Malmsteen (from the bands Yngwie Malmsteen/ Dio)
    - 5th solo in 4 parts: George Lynch/Carlos Cavazo/George Lynch/Carlos Cavazo (from the bands Dokken/Quiet Riot)
    - 6th solo in 2 parts: Brad Gillis, Craig Goldy (from the bands Night Ranger, Giuffria)
    - 7th solo: Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser (from the band Blue Oyster Cult) Last solo and Outro of this part.
All of the melodic guitars (or rhythm guitars) lines were performed by Adrian Smith and Dave Murray (both from Iron Maiden).
    Bass: Jimmy Bain (from Dio)
    Drums: Vinny Appice (from Dio)
    Keyboards: Claude Schnell (from Dio)
This song has the great advantage that, by having numerous singers and guitarists, all of them of very high level, it will allow you to decide if any of them deserve to be heard with their respective bands. This is the song that I always recommend to get started in the world of hard rock/metal.
REACT OR NOT REACT, THAT IS THE QUESTION....
If you decide to react to this recommendation,...WoW!!!
I hope you like it as much as I do.
But if you decide not to react, I will understand, cause you must receive thousands of recomendations and not everything can be addressed. And I will continue being a subscriber to your Channel and giving you likes, whatever you decide. It is a recommendation, not an order. There are people who get very angry when their suggestion is not heeded. Your Channel, your rules. No one has to tell you what to do and what not to do.
Anyway, if you decide not to react, I highly recommend that you listen to this song in private, just for yourself, because I really think you will like it.
Make sure you get a correct link. My favorite is this one below:
    ua-cam.com/video/xl15Wj2MwUw/v-deo.htmlsi=rvza6yPHdLXSzyRm
...although the list of lead guitars is divided incorrectly in the video. Trust the list I gave you above because I have an original vinyl and it appears like this (and you can check it by watching the video)
    CONCLUSION:
This song is a "kind of summary" of the hard rock/metal of the first half of the 80s
    Greetings from Spain!
(Wow, if I write to you again I will try to be much shorter, since this looks like the complete works of Shakespeare....)

Slayer shows was more than show or experience, it was a whole other world! Sad that we'll never have this experience again, at least until Kerry's new band comes out

Noting how you mentioned the way education comes through such a delivery system, Iron Maiden's "Alexander The Great" is one, among many others of theirs, that had the same effect back in school. I remember revealing to teachers how I got more out of Maiden than much of school.

I haven't seen you do any of the real early stuff yet. Black Magic and Crionics got me hooked on Slayer back in the day. Hell Awaits, Chemical Warfare and Captor of Sin should be on your list too. Keep up the good work, I love seeing the younger generations take Slayer into their hearts! Oh, and for the old stuff, listen to the original recordings when Tom's vocal cords were still in their prime.

This definitely drops some references to WWII, but it could also be seen as being about war in general.
