For anyone feeling discouraged by any combos in KOF.. Just remember, you can just do Starter > Super > Neomax for 90% of whatever crazy, optimal stuff you wanted to do most of the time. Don't make it harder than it needs to be if you're still working on execution!
Also Ralf exists; there's plenty of characters that are amazing and don't need combos to do that. I think knowing characters like him and 3S chun li are a thing literally is what will help fighting games grow, that there's just characters that throw out normals to play the game and thats fine.
Also, if you are having a hard time with combos, you should remember the button hold trick to force moves to come out on the earliest possible frame. The vast majority of BnBs in King of Fighters don't need super specific timing. So use the button hold trick and massively simplify your practice.

Honestly, this is not hard at all compared to XIII, that’s a good thing imo, his combos were so demanding that it made him fun for only people that could do the install combos which is not what a character should boil down to. Ash is back and beautiful, I love it

Imho angel is the hardest character in KoF rechain combos are nuts, and she NEEDS the optimization since her damage is horrid without it. So glad she made it, would love to see you tackle those!
She's really not that crazy, her move set just looks bigger than it is. She feels like a tekken or mk character. I think weaving all of her unchain stuff into her neutral and pressure is the actual challenge, combos are relatively fair.
The only thing more frustrating than brute forcing a combo is chunking it just to learn that the proration of the combo means the timing for the next chunk is totally different.
I get that ash's trials were hard. but ive seen so many streamers and youtubers trying to finish the kof 13 trials. To this day, I have not seen any of the same ppl trying to finish Clarks kof 13 trials, lmao. now those were hard.
Crazy cuz brute force works perfectly for me. I can't do chunkin. I tried and my brain for whatever reason can't remember the other sections of it then putting it together in the same order just makes my brain hurt. Even tho technically I am doing chunkin when I drop the first part of the combo to learn it. It's easy for me to just start all over haha
Ash's new move makes Sans-Culottes combos really easy now, literally mindless. Also from midscreen after a normal flashkick super you can link cleanly into Sans-Culottes and go flashkick, b+HK, f+HK... lather rinse repeat to carry to the wall. That new b~f+K move is what makes everything literally mindless and zero effort.
It's also a launcher in the ex version so that helps the b~f+K special in XIII looked cool af in combos and I kinda miss it but the new one is still great.
@@saadhasan2518 The old stuff ie b+HK, flashkick 1hit x5 loop into LK flashkick in corner still works, but there's absolutely no point to doing it coz the hit scaling rapes the damage down to near worthless levels. Using the new b~f+HK move in Sans-Culottes repeatedly gives far far better damage and it also has the bonus of working anywhere, corner, midscreen, and pretty much full corner carry... No reason not to use. It really is too good. Only thing I miss is the Sans-Culottes finisher that sealed the opponent's specials.
This game not only looks like the best King of fighters game ever made but they managed to beat Street fighter 4 and 5 at their own game! I was never a fan of the 2.5d Street fighter 4 or Street fighter v but this game does 2.5d the way 2.5d was meant to be done...
Ash was actually the hardest character alongside Duolon •Ash had charge inputs for hid HD combos and then you have Sans Culotte combos. •Duolon was techincal his bnbs had awkward cancels especially HD combos and he also had 1 frame links for his combos

PS: Ash is not the hardest, he's just the most popular. And the infamous Trial 8 is not the hardest, the last one is more difficult by far.
Smthis might soumd stupid i get the appeal of combo trials and i definitely want them in fighting games butni kinda just use them to give me some info on whats possible and i dont really care about completing them. Because of wierd things like doing the combo, but you have to use this one version when either version works. My favorite aspect of fighting games if the game has it, is options and freedom in how you put combos together and i really like spending forever in training mode finding cool stuff.

Its all a matter of timing but each character has its own, so everytime it will be a learning experience. Watch for example Iori 2002 combos and compare it to Andy 2002 combo, Iori even if you miss the timing you can adjust mid combo to get it right while Andy if you miss by a second it will probably whif like hell
I think the trials are kept simple out of sheer laziness. If you only include the most basic combos that are pretty much guaranteed to work, then they don't have to update the trials when they inevitably make balance changes.

What are you talking about? It's easier than ever to do combos and such. Even these Ash combos are far, far, far easier than the ones he had in 13. Newcomers and casuals drop practically every fighting game simply because most people aren't interested in actually putting any work into improving, and most fighting games don't have enough of a long-term population for those kinds of people to consistently match up with each other past week 2. Maybe with rollback though, that might change.
@@AirLancer no theres guilty gear strive which made a good push at becoming more beginner friendly and still has a really healthy population, fighting games shouldn't be hard mainly because of hard combos and inputs they should be hard from the mindgames that happen, and Kof 15 combos are still really hard and it also has auto-combos that do 50% health so unless you can do the really optimal combos consistently it is more optimal to auto combo which is not good because players that want to get better and learn optimal combos won't see any improvement in doing simple bnbs because they do less damage than auto combos. Basically this game is learn insanely hard combos that even fighting game veterans will have trouble with or do auto combos and anything else is not optimal.

What I love about Ash it's his high risk, high reward. That's why I love him so much in KoF XIII.
But in 13 the reward isn't even high. Iori can still do more damage with way easier execution

Trail Mode in KOF 14 was also 5 Different Mission. I believe this to be a BnB's and the mechanics of the characters it tries to teach.
This is still an improvement over 14 trials. The trials in 14 were very unpractical, at least these ones in 15 make more sense.

you have to sneak the first quarter circle forward input into the flashkick input.

Kof 13 trials are all impractical unoptimal wastes of time. Basic bnbs in kof are pretty eady
