I saw Bruce in a tiny village hall in Pembrokeshire, Wales last year, and what a privilage it was to see this great musician. For some reason his guitar renditions really captivated me.

Thanks Stuart! And yes the bass you are hearing is coming from the main stage off in the distance. This is in the woods but Pickathon is going on not very far away from there, you'll pretty much hear the faint sound of music at the end of any of these videos (but in this case it was pretty loud bass).

Hellava tune, but ... her fiddle has 5 strings? (see around 1:45) I find it hard to believe it can get a good or even acceptable tone down to a C.

I dunno, I think if you're going to have a bass instrument in this music you need it to plunk. Sawing away in the lower register just doesn't cut it. The cellist adds mainly to the visuals, an addition of dubious worth.
do not like the guy with the green hat, destroys all harmony with his intense and not matching body movements. He might find it "cool", i find it rather disturbing.
