Really fun seeing Louise's beginnings again. I loved this album when it first came out and I remain a big fan of hers to this day. She just gets better and better.
How is it that i never has seen this before? I mean, I watched the first videos on the first day MTV aired and throughout the 80s. Louise is still performing (not so much in COVID times) and has a new album.
I watched this video being made at Laird International Studios in Culver City, Calif in 1979. It took them about four hours to get this final edited take.
Video Number 133 on MTV August another nice pick daughter of Songwriting Royalty didn't know, she got her own swag in this so rare but fine indeed and young also well done
Tomorrow, I'm going to dig through my completely messy closet and dig out the vinyl albums of Kid Blue and Louise Goffin circa 1980. I wish they were available on the streaming services, but they're not. Must be some stupid record company pinheads preventing them from being available.
Never knew she was even related to Carole King, much less her daughter. On this video, first I remember this song from just about my favorite summer. I was noticing something last night that I had a couple of thoughts on. Looking at how she walks onto the set (supposed to reflect a concert stage, but it's just a sound stage in a studio somewhere; I'll bet Louise was advised (if necessary) (she kind of struts or moves around tough or boldly) that during this time rock was mostly dominated by men and to be taken seriously, she needed to reflect a harder edge. But today, looking back on this, it really looks kind of silly, amateurish. Something is missing or is present that shouldn't be. Song was still great for it's time.
Wow, this rocks! As an almost 70 year old I'm of course a huge fan of Carole King. Currently reading her Memoir and that brought me here!

I would love to hear Jimmy and the Tough Kids !!!
Louise has very famous parents but I did not know that when I bought her album. Glad I can still find her music here now.
Wow! I didn’t know one Carole King’s daughters was a singer too! I guess it’s in their blood!
Great Album, great song.
She looks like a younger version of her famous mom, Carole King.
Nice voice, too.

You'll always be Kid Blue
Louise refers to this video as her Spinal Tap moment. Lol! I don't know why RED LITE FEVER wasn't a single instead. Coulda been a hit.
I picture myself walking and strutting down the street where my blue work clothes looking good and pretty lady singing this song together about me

I think she took Gilda Gardner's "Give Me Mick" a little too seriously.
Just kidding. She is a good singer performer.
