While staying at the center inside the top "crown" I was able to only rech roughly the middle of the Titan with a Free Camera. The max range of free cam is 5000m from the ship (in a 5km sphere), so I'd guess the Titan is 20km long in diameter.

19:00 .. I spotted it in one (or two?) of your other vids, also... The odd 4 sets of lines which "shoot out" / appear when the Tharg "de-spawns" is rather curious... We already know that the Thargs, while having 8 "petals", only have 4 "thrusters" (we can see the 4 pods evenly spaced to the rear) . . . and I speculate that the de-spawn lines are related to the thrusters... O_O
They are supposed to leave these trails from the engines, but the trails have become bugged with the Oddysey release. Then they spawn or despawn, the trails for some reason loose their origin point and shoot out far away. It's pretty to look at, but its an error.
I think the Thargoids scanned each other because the one entering was supposed / coded to disappear and he did not because you were inside. The one patrolling didn't recognize him at first because he was supposed to not be there and had to scan him. He then realized he was one of his own. Definitely a glitch
Great wall breach! But there’s nothing modelled inside, I wonder if we can actually enter it. Curious to your more informed and experienced opinion on it.
As I mentioned in the other reply - there are two possibilities: 1) The Titan is waygate with a lot of portals (it regularly overheats from opening the main one and vents the exess). We can possibly enter it now if we know how. 2) The interior isn't ready yet and we need to wait for another uptade or two.
hey why don't you try going through that gate while carrying a thagoid sensor, like we do at the thargoid map thingy !! maybe something would open or change ?!
I tried to get in with a Thargoid Link (they function the same as Probes and Sensors at the crashed Titans), but it didn't do anything: ua-cam.com/video/FI_O__nBKF4/v-deo.html
What's the red-light light in the middle of the Malestrom ? Is it the sun shining through? If so you can do a spectrogragh of the light that is scattered in the malestrom to figure out the exact composition of the Costic cloud. I want to think the "motherships" we are seeing is not the main threat of the Malestrom 😮
It is indeed the local star - I use it as a waypint to navigate the cloud since it doesn't move like the Malestrom's marker. Considering all the entrance points on the Titan are portals (there are 3 types: for Scouts, for Glaives and the main one) it's just a waystation. The massive bowl under the main portal's surface is probaly a backdrop for the transition VFX (like in the FSD jump) when the portal opens for a player who enters it "normally". Only question is - can we do it now somehow, or do we need another new module?
What if these are not portals at all but some sort of container of "spawn gel?" or "ectoplasm" for lack of a better term. It spawns in units as needed, no reason to transport anything. Units are re-absorbed as necessary.
The main portal has a repulsion "force field" that pushes the ships away when its active. To be able to counter any speed the players may have (~900 m\s in normal conditions, with engineering) it seems to be set up with exponentially rising force the closer you get (I'd guess it's ~900 at the actual hitbox and is continuing past it with even greater force). Obviosly, it's set up only in one direction, so by getting inside the "force field" repulsion zone at the end of it I was instantly propelled at high speed, through the wall's hitbox (killing my shields and damaging me for 18%), and away from the portal. By reacting quickly and constantly boosting, I was able to keep the insane (1670 m\s at peak) speed, but died from being unable to use a Caustic Sink Launcher because of the recharging Shilds eating all my power is Systems capasitor.
Not at the Malestroms at least. All of the Titan's entrance points are portals - small ones for Scouts, medium ones for Hunters and the big one for Interceptors (and humans).
@@400thekiller233 Ignoring the obvious fact there is nothing 'behind' them to go to, all of the Thargoids behave and use the same animations they do when they enter and exit their regular portals. So a solid surface, with no insides, that turn into something the Thargoids pass through like a portal, naturally seems like a portal. It can of course be wrong and they could be all doors with changing states of matter, what will work like loading screens.

@@400thekiller233 There was a Scout substitude in the middle of it during U14, but I get the point. But logically speaking, we will have to wait for the release of new Hunter variants before we will be able to deal with Titans.

There might be a few problems with that: My weapons could simply not pass through the walls. But I'm not sure. The Titan's pulse should still be able to damage me inside it's model. Exiting the game at such locations will lead to me being placed outside of the "unsafe environment" upon loading back in. I expect the "unsafe environment" zone extents inside the Titan too.
That is why the video has a warning in the title. And also a warning before they actually start. For me, it was also interesting to observe the Titan's mechanics from a technical point of view. And if I'd managed to get the portal to work this way, I wouldn't have shown that.

If anything, I am now more convinced we can enter it (either now or later) after seeing the backdrop polygonal bowl of the main portal. Thargoids don't need it (and can ignore walls anyway) and the free camera can't phase through the wall where the portal appears. So the only reason it would need to be placed there - if the portal would somehow open and the wall behind it dissapeared. And it doesn't do that when Thargoids enter it.
