I use the Media Mod on my Hero10Black so I can use the external mic and power pac. I had to laugh watching you describe the ludicrous mounting and battery compartment GoPro conjured up.
I find that my Media Mod acts up with the GoPro 9. I find that the Ulanzi G9-5 works the best for me. This is what I use all the time.
Yeah.. I can't get my gopro yo connect to the Pc with the media mod and also the 3.5mm jack now only records the right side of a stereo track.. I record my inear monitors at church and it's been rough I'm hoping the ulanzi with the 3.5 adapter is what I need.
What i like about the Ulanzi is i pop off the side and plug it right in to the gopro. If you have any proplem with auto you can fix that in editing. But stereo works fine for me. But I can change track in editing to mono or go in and change the track that is playing sound to play that track in both ears. This will fix any audio proplems. Thats easy to do. If you need more help let me know. Let me know how the Ulanzi case works for you.
The Media Mod overheats because the heat is trapped inside the cage, but the Ulanzi isn't made of plastic. Is it made of aluminum, which extracts heat?
This is true! Ulanzi is my daily driver.

Yes it will. Its the same size as the 9,10,11,12. I hope this helps. I use mine everyday.
