R.I.P to Harry and Andrew, my heart and condolences go out to Corty and their families and I'm sure you guy's will do special for Harry at the next Drag Challenge when you get this beast there.
Best thing about this Ute is it almost looks sleeper, but on the way to Heathcote I reckon you stop off at Lowes to invest in several pairs of Reg Grundies. Just in case you need a pit change 😂
You are correct , Brad is a top bloke for finding the door trims etc. really did tidy up the interior. Only bugs Bunny freaks would know about Hussan chop.😂😂😂
I have never been a fan of purple paint, but this VS ute is one of the toughest cars to hit the streets an strip!!! Every week I wait to see the progress of this weapon from all involved. In my eyes this build is my all time favorite, not just because I like the ute, but it is great to watch the growth of all involved. Bring on a 7 second past Scotty you crazy man!!!
Sound, horses, colour... I might be the only one who digs purple cars, but this thing is an absolute beast! Can't wait for the next episode! Rock on Scotty!
Scotty, Go back & grab a few more of those sockets & machine them the same. If you've only got one it'll going missing at the worst possible time. If you've got a few, you'll always be able to find one.
Hey man, how come you put the plate from the intake tube to the radiator? Surely there was a bolt on the engine somewhere that you could have linked to, that way you don't get any differences in tension ender load ect. Tough mounts still flex and the body/chassis will move around with that kind of power too....enough to maybe cause issues.
hi Scotty, loving the build. what a weapon. can you please, please put a guard or shield of some kind in front of your catch cans? I would worry about getting such nice work damaged.
Like#308!😂🚙💨 Some might say this is much better than a 308 (I'm one of em) but some just love the PuRiTy as our MCM mates would say. Can't wait to see this beast set new Carnage PB's all round.
Have you fitted a trans scatter sheild or blanket? And an engine tray? Got the makings of a 180mph missile there Scotty. Fit a cooling system pressure sensor and big red light on ya Haltech dash.Helps if a headgasket takes a dump, will see it instantly.
11:35 Scotty, how much oil do you have there mate? I'm gonna have to call you Sheik Scotty! Brad did a fine job with the trim. I wish the VS series III Ute came with an LS engine back in the day but I gotta say that the engine in yours is pretty schmick & sounds like she's ripe for business! You have to keep up with tradition now Scotty, the dash mat has to stay for racing.
Scotty slightly concerned about the driveshaft sensor bracket. Being so close to the yoke, if that single nut vibrates even slightly loose it is goodnight for that sensor. The moment it can kick sideways even slightly that will come in contact. Can you add another small bracket that goes to another bolt?
@@chuxshed587 if it was further back and the sensor had no chance of touching you could probably get away with one, but considering the kind of vibration it will be subject to during burnouts, it really needs two decent mounting points to stop any chance of it touching. At that distance it wouldn't take many degrees of rotation (or a sloppy hole) before it touched.
@@STREETMACHINETV strength is not the concern, rotation is. Being so close .5 to 1mm that is only going to take a small amount of rotation to hit. You have to remember you have considerably more HP out the back now, they will be some fairly violent vibration back there during the burnout.
Scotty is your oil pressure sensor problem due to the issue I mentioned previously about the CAN lines being too long from the back bone? There are specifications for how long a lead can be before it starts running into "echo" issues on the bus.
Nice build Scotty. Be aware, the resistance / restriction from those long hoses going to catch cans being rear mounted will be very high, you may end up with crankcase pressure problems. Like a dick, it has to do with both dia and length, the longer you go, the bigger the dia needs to be. Be worth checking if you can.
@@STREETMACHINETV While it might not spit out raw oil, it will be pumping out oily fumes that might contain traces of oil. The tech guys might take one look at it and say you can't have that pointing towards the tyre. I am only surmising, I have never been a tech inspector, but I could see them questioning it. If it got to the situation you have put it there for, you wouldn't want pressurized oil being forced towards the tyre. A simple tin cover would do the trick or remote locate with a hose the filter.
Get a hex socket and turn that down instead don't use a multi hex socket. They are weaker and will crack after little use especially with an impact of any sort. I'm a tyre fitter question me if you like but you will find out soon enough
Some people are lucky some people make their own Luck with your track record and the amount of set backs you have had on the Build why the Hell would you run the engine on DYNO not knowing the oil pressure unbelievable Rookie errors again

That's awful, I heard it here too. RIP, they were legends.

Killer work 👌🏻 a rear Venetian would be mint to hide the cage threw the back window though
Not a bad idea

Yeah, Purple on cars isn't my favourite either, but at least it's different to all the other VS Utes
😂 Just love this ute, sounds epic 🤘
Good stuff Scotty . I've seen some guys using clear hose to the puke tanks so you only need a quick peek under the car to check . Love this build !
That stuff isn't very heat resistant though
Fantastic work mate! We can’t wait for all the mighty wheelies 3/4 way down the strip

Awesome work Scotty, proud of ya mate. She is a beast! Especially love the fact it fits under the stock bonnet. Cheers.
Yeah that adds to the sleeper vibe. It looks awesome
Go get it scotty. Great idea taking it along with the guys at mpw always good to have some extra help . All the best for the track test day .

So, today Scotty speaks about the benefits of correctly secured nuts, shaft speed and what to do when you have four nipples.....!!
Scotty slightly concerned about the driveshaft sensor bracket. Being so close to the yoke, if that single nut vibrates even slightly loose it is goodnight for that sensor.
