One slightly tricky step (14 = row 1 column 4):
    14, 22, 78, 67, 34,
    37, 21, 16, 36, 79,
32 (hidden single, owing to pair in column; not immediately obvious),
    72 (hidden DCE),
    33, 12, 26, 35, 71 (hidden restriction in box 5),
    74, 91, 95 (hidden pair in box),
83, 94 (using the hidden pair),
    82, 81, 93, 61, 66,
    62, 52, 45, 63, 55 (hidden pairs in box; one resolvable),
    64, 84, 85, 47, 27,
    28, 29, 87, 96, 86,
    88, 57, 44, 54, 43,
    53, 17, 58, 59, 18,
    19, 48, 49, 98, 99,
    68.

This one was really interesting to do without notations. Unfortunately, you didn't find the 1,9 pair in Col 2 before going to notations at the 11:30 mark, so you didn't get to the best and most challenging part. You might consider redoing this one as I think you would find it worth your time.

I also had some difficulty with it but in the end, once you have the 5 and 7 in row 7, it was not too diffiult to figure out the rest was a 1 in col 2 a 39 in col 1 and 4. With this, the crucial restriction becomes the 15 pair in block 8. I thought this was one of my favourite NYT Hard of late, and it is not because I was able to do it quickly, I wasn't :)

From a non US perspective, I do sympathise with pres Biden. It is such an impossible task to balance America's commitment to Israel as a country and how one deals with the extremist government that that country has chosen to put in power. The situation in Gaza is heartbreaking and unjustifiable. And Israel's behaviour in the West Bank, that too often goes under the radar, is revolting. And letting the IDF destroy the Palestinian people under the pretence of destroying Hamas is ludicrous. In fact, the current government in Israel is only making sure that they will further radicalise youmg Palestinians and strenghten terrorism. Awful situation.

merci Georges - it is tragic and we must not be silent - your words ring true - i abhor all terrorism, which of course includes the violent acts committed by Hamas, but the retailiation is far too severe, and the Palestinians deserve peace and justice, as all people do@@georgesthibaudeau1533

Some are making much of the "uncommitted" votes entered by Michigan Democrats. The expected baseline of uncommitted votes for an incumbent in Michigan (e.g. Obama in 2012) was 10%. The results this year for Biden seems to be around 14%. A marginal increment at best. Meanwhile, it seems Democrat voting participation was quite strong for an uncontested primary election, which indicates some degree of enthusiasm. Complete results will make this analysis clearer, but things do not appear to be so bad for democrats. Meanwhile, with Trump taking full control of the GOP means donor moneys will continue to be used for Trump personal legal expenses, to which must be added the 600 million $$$ he is required to deposit to maintain his appeals from money awards issued against him in civil cases. Not an especially bright prospect.

I suspect there was a lot of ambivalence there. Some Dems wanted to send Biden a message but on the other hand, it was important to also show support for Biden, when so much depends on the election this year.
