Ha! Yup, much warmer. I'll probably put plastic up as a temp skirting barrier for the winter too since I probably won't be able to get to the real skirting till next summer.
@@thesomewhathandyman9400 Oh yes! you did mention the plastic skirting in a previous video and how it would trap the heat. You will definitely be warm and toasty during the day, when that sun traps the heat under the house. You might have to open the windows in the house! My grandmother renovated her back porch to naturally capture heat from the sunlight. I swear, her house was 120 degrees during the winter months. LOL.
I just binge watched all your videos the past 2 days....wow...what a job. I couldn't believe it when the roof collapsed. I think I would of given up. I bought a 1972 mobile home when I first moved from my parents house. It's was in really rough shape, but luckily the structure was sound. Slowly, I replaced all the paneling, windows, whole new kitchen....I had to put in a dishwasher! I learned a lot, spent a lot, but really enjoyed working on it. I still enjoy renovations, but slowing down. Once I get going on a project, I don't want to stop. Lol keep up the great work, you have a ways to go....the insulation, and the drywall sanding is the worst. I wish you and your doggies the best.
Thanks for the kind words and checking out all my work! Yeah, I've wanted to give up many a time that's for sure! But we're over the hump so I'm just wishing it were done already. ha! Yeah, not looking forward to all the drywall sanding but thankfully I'm almost done dealing with insulation work. It's all in but I still have to cover it all up so it will kick up some dust. We'll get there though! Thanks again!
You’re getting close to winter and the insulation will definite help with heating bills. Your place is looking great! Keep going, I’ve watched you from the very beginning!!
Thank you very much! Yup, the rains have finally come. Temps are still mild but we def needed the rain. We are getting a week of sun again but cooler. It's giving me time to pull an engine out of my truck.
Thanks! Yup, I already notice it stays warmer in here longer after running the heater for just a bit. Although it's still in the mid 50's outside so that probably has something to do with it too. Ha!
aww isn't it lovely when u have the pups supervising lol. I bet u are chuffed u nearly have the under belly of home all insulated, horrid job, I remember doing my loft , it drove me insane, so kudos for you being able put up with the itching . is it nearly time for the fabulous copper sink to be installed yet? thanku again for showing how its all coming together, I've enjoyed watching you work hard haha! hope you are well hugsx
Yup, always love having these pups around looking for my attention! I am using the sink but yeah, it's just in a temporary situation. I finally have a faucet temporarily hooked up but the drain isn't hooked up yet so I just have a plastic catch pan in the sink that I have to keep emptying but it's nice to be getting closer to having it installed right.
Thanks! Yeah, still have to buy one more pack for just a few open spots underneath but we're getting close. Yeah, the rains finally came which is bitter sweet. The trees were needing it bad. Temps aren't that low yet but def not like they were just a week ago.
If you're worried about rodents, the two kinds of insulation and vapor barrier will do zero to stop them. Instead, some hardware cloth or 3/8" treated plywood (because it's exposed to moisture from below) would do the trick.
Awesome stuff. I love how much we are alike haha. I was biuding my new Awening the other night started at 5 pm and stopped at 1:00 am since i wasnt able to hammer no more hahah ALSO a good "vapor barrier" for holding the insulation up you can use Land Scape Fabric. You can buy it online in likw 300 ft rolls that ar 6 or 12 ft wide. The 12 ft wide ones are just over 100 bucks then 6 ft wide ones ar about 60 bucks. It's the same stuff a lot of Manu Factured homes use from factory under their homes.
Nice! I will look into that fabric. Although I did find a roll of roof underpayment at the habitat store for only $35. Hopefully it will be enough and it's really heavy duty too.
Yes! I’m so glad you got the insulation on the bottom of the trailer. Now you and your roommates will be as warm as possible this winter! 🎉
Ha! Yup, much warmer. I'll probably put plastic up as a temp skirting barrier for the winter too since I probably won't be able to get to the real skirting till next summer.

Those pups are so cute! That insulation will make a big difference this winter. I hear you all are getting some cold weather coming this next week

@dper1112, what is "hardware cloth"?
It’s galvanized metal screen mesh, about 1/4” squares.
Thanks for the update!
Thank you!
Not funny, "Oh, are you still alive?"
Yeah, I have a bit of a dark humor side to me.

@@thesomewhathandyman9400 That stuff I am certain will do the trick just as good too.
