Don’t take the resonator off that car you will regret it. If you want more sound get the RV6 downpipe/PCD and/or the RV6 resonated mid pipe. Removing the resonator on these engines makes it sound horrible.
The new Earth Dreams DI motors sound a little raspier than other K series due to the integrated exhaust manifold setup. (They don’t have an exhaust header) The best setup in my opinion for the K24W1 Accord is to leave the stock Sport axle backs and run the RV6 PCD/downpipe and RV6 resonated mid pipe. Frees up all the power your going to get out of the exhaust on these cars and sounds good while remaining subtle without rasp or highway drone. As far as performance though these are great engines that make amazing average torque figures for a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder. A good intake, the aforementioned exhaust mods and a proper tune on premium pump gas and these make right around 185-190 HP and TQ @ the wheels and the area under the curve is awesome for a street car. Tons of torque available down low that carries out beautifully. It doesn’t make the top end grunt of the more performance oriented K24a2 engines (TSX) but it is a better all around street motor with better average torque.
@@tbskirk If you’re talking about the Accord’s, they still made them up until like early 2021. The last manufactured 6 speed manual Honda Accord Sport 2.0T sold a few months ago.
the most ridiculous change people do nowadays. bought a 2017 manual accord sport. the previous owner removed the mufflers. sounded like a ridiculous fart can looking for attention. the ride was rough and especially bad for the people in the back seat. found the part with the 2 mufflers for $200 and I reversed the handicapped steps that the the previous owner did.
4 Cylinder being that loud is ridiculous to me honestly......I've seen so many cars with those fart cannons thinking they unlocked super v-tec but can barley hop over the 200hp mark lol
Yeaaah, that’s kind of all you get out of an economical, high revving naturally aspirated 4 cylinder. No one is trying to act like it’s faster than what it is already rated for (189 HP)
Bro sometimes people just want a louder car,, unfortunately some of us are stuck with our current cars so we make do with what we have. No one‘s acting like it’s faster
Replacing the stock mufflers with other mufflers won’t do much, cause it has 2 resonators on the stock catback exhaust system. You’re better off getting a whole catback exhaust system with wider piping. I went as far as getting a custom 3” single exit exhaust, with a chambered muffler. I always also run at least one decently sized (16”+) resonator or glasspack cause of the potential rasp on the Honda/Acura engines.
Longer and better resonators and/or glasspacks, and wider piping diameter. I usually run two 18”+ resonators or glasspacks; one in the middle of the mid pipe, and one towards the end of it, right before the muffler (if there is one). This massively helps any rasp, usually from a pre-cat delete (PCD). This gen Accord I4 doesn’t offer 2nd cat delete options, but I’ve managed custom 2nd cat deletes on it; either by gutting the stock cats, or installing a bolt-on 2nd cat delete from a 7th gen Accord V6 MT.

I feel like it’s better to get a aftermarket muffler/catback with a 4 cyl instead of a muffler delete unless it’s a Turbo 4 cyl
True. I got a 2.3L 4cyl. Went with a resonator delete with a dynomax muffler. Sounds deep as it could be, no fart can sound at all.
Its a nice car but leave the exhaust alone its pretty bad
@@smartcookie3500 Are you talking about the 6th gen (98-02) I4 Accord?
Sounds nice. Damn. I’m surprised
Yes this is way better than most of the fart cans on UA-cam. KEEP THE RESONATOR.
Not bad for a 4-cylinder Accord. That's as far as I would go with it though

I agree bro The resonator will ruin this beauty.
*removing
6 speed manual too what a shame Honda stopped making them after 2017

Should have split the exhaust in two. Sounds way better in my opinion. Mine gurgles and pops on deceleration also (no tune)
Was that just the muffler like a custom axle back. That thing moved!

Love the intro
I got an 07 Accord and need professional suggestions on an exhaust set up. Its a 2.4L ☹
I posted a video on my channel with my setup. If yall are interested go take a look. I have the car itself posted in a separate video.
Borla would’ve sound nice instead of lawnmower typeish

I have an acura tl with this same engine, I want a deeper tone should I delete the muffler like this or should I replace it with a borla pro xs?

Damn that sounds goood
would’ve sounded better out of economy mode but still not bad
Please don't make it any louder.
Where are you guys located?

What size is the stock piping??
It’s 2” all the way, but on the dual exit models, it goes from 2” into 1.75” y- piping and mufflers.
#savethemanuals!
I have the same engine, any way to make is sound deeper but not fart? 😂
No anything more will fart like crazy this is actually really good for this engine. Keep the resonator and get custom mufflers with deep tone.

catback exhaust with rv6 headers
I was gonna say how much but it sounds like fart I can’t
Not worth modding with a 2.4 earth engine . Get a different engine. K24a2
That painted tow hook tho
If you watch close you can see all of the rice fly out his muffler at the end.
NOTHING spells RICE like a blue flamed tip & no muffler!!
It is a decent car, just need to leave the exhaust alone.
Never ever leave the exhaust alone. Louder is always better
Tf you mean it goes good with it
Deleting the factory muffler has nothing to do with rice the car is literally stock
My farts are louder
That sounded awful
Why are all these clowns in the comments saying that sounds good?? 🤣 save money, don’t do stupid exhaust mods and just get a real car
Yet you still clicked on it 😂
