"60% more capacity than a standard Flex" - Did you all forget, standard Flex had 259Wh? So it's more like 35% upgrade, which is still way to low!
I'm doing 15km tops on Flex (259Wh) after 3 years, using cloud wheels. It's a joke.
If you made 22km on Pro, after putting cloudwheels, you won't make more than 15km, which is just ridiculous.
Just buy Onsra black carve 2 or 3. I'm doing easily 45km carving like crazy on it. It's stiffer, more stable and I'm riding 50kph all the time.
Besides that, awesome review Daniel :)

I too was confused on diff between boards. My Flex also on Clouds is now over 2 years, but the battery is only 1.5 with them replacing a broken one. I get under 10miles on flat 3rd gear riding with me being 155LB. I am tired of so a short ride that I want to get better mileage but boards are so crazy in their idea of how far you can go. It clicked to me when you said you thought ER would be better due to flat and your weight. I'm in the same boat, but if I can't at least double 15KM then I am going to switch to Ebikes like a Ruffian or Wicked Thumb.

Great review as always. Life long skateboarder, first time buying an Esk8 was the flex Riot basically when it first came out. I do short trips around 6miles max on very hilly areas around LA and love my flex Riot. I've been using cloud 105s for the rougher roads out here. I love them but full disclosure was tossed once when I hit some wet leaves. Pretty sure that would happen regardless of what I had on though.

@@DanielKwan Just tried the voyager two days in a row. Other than the deck not being flexy enough for my taste, I found it great. But no matter what, paying the same price for a much smaller battery with worse cells isn't going to cut it.
And lets not forget it comes with two sets of wheels, and the updated Cyclones are great.
All in all, for what you get, the voyager is cheaper.

@@esk8news328 voyager loses out in quality of life features tho. The app for tuning, abs edge to avoid chips, and included fast charger should also be weighed in especially if your preorder it at 849 bucks. If you consider buying this board or the Flex lineup in general, please consider the Meepo Voyager. I was considering the Flex ER but changed my mind once I saw the Voyager. The specs are all better than every Exway Flex board and the batterycapacity is huge even compared to the Flex-Pro. It costs just slightly more, but considering all the specs and differences, the Voyager wins by a long shot.
From personal experience: I ride it everyday unless it rains and the Cyclone wheels are just awesome!!

I’ll be away for a few days so I’ll try to explain in words first. Despite the “Flex” name, both boards are minimally flexy compared to like say a Loaded Vanguard or Boosted Board v2. The Pro deck to me rides like a stiff deck, which I like for better control. You can see that it does flex if you jump on it, but for the most part it maintains its shape instead of bouncing. The ER and standard decks flex a little more but not a huge difference. My weight was about 76kg.

at 2:20 you say that the pro can get same range as the ER. Not true, the motors are less efficient than the ER so even in optimal conditions it will be less. It's the downside of reusing old hardware not appropriate for the setup.

disappointingly small battery for a pro board

    • @antonintopol228
      @antonintopol228 Рік тому

Well some of us do not need giga batteries. Original Flex was already heavy and poorly balanced for carrying. Personally, my go to board is X1 Pro with HUB, because it is the lightest board there is, even though I can pick any other board from Wave to Atlas.
My opinion is that this is a board for motoskate racing. It is definitely a trash bin for left over parts from Atlases, but this board will be perfect for racing. One race (heat of 3 laps, 30-45 sec a lap) discharges Atlas from 100% to 95%.
But my first and honest reaction to Flex Pro was "great, Flex ER with ESC that will kill batteries" :D

I wont buy a board that needs firmware updates. Looks like a good board , but I'll stick with boards that don't need an app

@@RandollChiu I just don't trust this new way of selling products where they put out the product and you need to use an app to get updates and features. They're going the way of the cell phone where you will eventually need the updates for your board to work properly.
