Good morning Great video of my homeland and places that I used to visit. I am an exiled Scot of 47 years ago but I should not complain as I live 200mrtes from the sea!. You can not beat the West of Scotland for yachting and exploring there is so much to see and do. I just wish that I could visit more often. The last was 2018 and and a visit to Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute. I would love to sail on the P.S. Waverley now that she been restored to her former glory. Regards Crawford
Hi Crawford, you will know and have seen a lot more of Bonnie Scotland than me im sure. We love Scotland but like everywhere its better in the sunshine. We have also missed a lot of anchorages out due to the weather not being trustable so we will just have to do it all again with more time. Regards mike
Every boat should come fully equipped with its own Lisa. Couldn't agree more. I guess the Moody I just bought is the wrong sort of boat. I have looked all over it and I can't find the Lisa anywhere. Perhaps the previous owner has nicked the one that was on the boat before. I suppose I will have to try and find a new Lisa. Then my sailing will be as happy as yours.
Hi Nick, I guess there is a Lisa out there who would fit your Moody lovely. Your probably right in thinking the previous owner took her with him. Did you check the inventory correctly lol 😂 mike
So many different headings in an almost inland sail, that i thought you'd be motoring a lot, but swallow was great at all points of sail. Seems great sailing ground.
Hi Chris you could easily spend two weeks in the Kyles if you had the time as I’m sure lots do. Swallow played a blinder never needing to motor once which made the sail epic mike
Hi Colin my bro was in IOM yesterday and planned on going to Whitehaven but has now changed him mind. You could of sailed back in company if he hadn’t. Fair winds mike
O.K. No Bow thrusters were harmed making this video: good! I am here for (also) your accent, though I wouldn't know which one it is. I like your style!
Beauty mate, we got a place called Bute here in South Australia. There was a shed load of motor sailers where you stopped over and why not, for my mind that is the perfect boat for comfy cruising. We have a few down here in South Oz, mostly built in Tasmania back in the 50s onwards, many in Huon Pine timber, but those are expensive. They seem to be sought after, plus the build quality is nearly always exceptional, hence the prices are always right up there. Beautiful looking sailing where you are, excellent vid
Hi Dean thanks for the kind words. Think our Swallow is definitely the correct boat for damp sailing. We are on a long beat at the moment with a bungee doing the helming. We are both in the warm. Lisa reading a book and me playing on me phone. Hell who’s on watch phew it’s ok the bungee is lol mike
I would say those were geese sailing in the Kyle, but can’t tell if they were big enough for that! 🔭... I am intrigued why the colored marker buoys were green on starboard thoughout the sail, I would have expected them to be on both channels, ie West channel and East channel, green on starboard facing North. But perhaps the logic is that you were going up the channel coming from the sea, even going back South? 🤔
Hi Bruce, most channels that I know with twin inlet and outlet have either one way buoyage or have a change direction of buoyage mark mid channel. Normally marked on said chart with a monopoly house with two o’s on the roof lol mike
I love watching your adventures. It's funny that you called the Canadian Geese chickens because (here in Canada) we have a name for them, Cobra Chickens... they're vicious buggers.
You mentioned you like to see it in sunshine. When we sailed there we couldn’t even see the land thick clouds were on the water, we got absolutely soaked. We thoroughly enjoyed it as I do you vlog taking me back there. At least I know what it looks like now.
Hi Sheriff, there has been quite a lot lost to cloud as well so we know what you mean. Glad we could show you some of the views you missed. We will both have to do it again some sunny day. Mike
Very enjoyable! Are there any more Lisa's about....could do with one like her on board, what a lovely sail, looked like you timed that right with the weather change 😀
Hi Andy we have been trying to stay ahead of the weather for weeks. It catches us every now and then but when it’s not looking we escape. Good fortune will find you a Lisa lol mike
Hi Barry, there where lots of places that were worthy of a visit but I need very settled conditions to anchor in areas I don’t know, but of a scary cat really. Regards mike
Enjoyed your trip through the Kyles. Interesting to see home waters through different eyes. Points of information - despite their appearance these are not chain or cable ferries! And the wind at the north end of the West Kyle is ALWAYS like that. Hope you enjoy Rossy.
Thanks for the heads up I’ve now learned about the ferry’s. Will keep them in my head as straight line ships from now on. Enjoyed the Kyles very much and pleased we made it on sail from one end to the other. Regards mike
Why missed you again. When was it you passaged through the Kyle's? We went through the opposite way on Fri heading for ardrishaig and the canal, very rough at ardlamont point. Now (wed night) alongside waiting pontoon at Lagan lock NE end of loch Lochy on Caladonia canal system. Loch Ness tmrw. Weather has been dreadfull for June🌧️🌧️🌧️ Enjoy your time in Scotland, best sailing ground in the world.🏴
Hiya we went through on Monday so your wake would have been long gone. We would have been in Tarbert when you passaged. I agree about the weather. Have a good cruise mike
Hi there. I'm a new subscriber and love the channel. I've cruised Scotland for years and never get tired of it. Tell me what make of boat and size is she? Keep up the super channel. Paul
@@sailingcosiloveit Yes, a beautiful morning on the Penryn River today. Cornwall is expecting temps in the high 20’s over the next few days. Fingers crossed for a bit more of that blue sky for you and Lisa. Enjoy!
We like your sailboat.. very nice. Can you put American subtitles up as we can't understand too much of what you say. Not sure what language it is but some words sound a bit like American and then it mixes to some unknown language - some type of Eastern European?? Where did you grow up and did they teach you American at school? Anyway, keep up the sailing! We just wish you could speak better American so we could understand what you are saying.... @@sailingcosiloveit hello Mike :) I thought that end of liverpool as you have a bit of a Beatles twang :) I love the old footage of the Fab Four talking :) You helped me with advice to get through the swellies a couple of years ago . I’ve got a 7 m RIb I’ve shot round from liverpool snd stayed in conwy marina and flew up the Straights lots of times . So thank you again for your advice , you gave me confidence when I really needed it :) . Only a 4 hour window at best out of liverpool marina on the same tide it’s so annoying. Im thinking of moving to north wales and buy a buy mooring on the Straights . Hope To see you on the water :)
Good luck with the mooring on the straits, down by the bridge is favoured but they are all prime for sailing. Sure we will see each other about if you make the move. All the best mike
Hi Mark it really is and I’ve started looking. Nearly got one just before we departed but then I found there are a lot of regs depending on the weight of it. Need more investigation I think 🤔 mike

Hell of a language 👌
Very nice maneuver. Cracking sail.

Nice sail. Apart from the strong tide it's pretty much like sailing in Norway. Best regards from Jarle
Ooo love to sail Norway. Mike
Nice to watch. Lovely commentary.
Cheers 🥂
Love your videos Mike, always interested in your sail management 👍🏻 Hoping to be up there at the end of the month, currently in Whitehaven

Sailed this in the other direction 2 weeks ago. I got no wind until near Tarbert!!! Kyles are beautiful!
That’s the way of it all or nothing
Hi! Thanks for helping me tie up in Troon. Love your boat. Have a great return cruise.
