ice golem is cheaper but also it only targets buildings so it can kite many units to the other side of the map and also it has death damage which is useful against bats and skelly in golem and nightwitch decks on the other hand knight is more bulky it can damage troops and has an evolution
I've been struggling against "midladder" decks so the match where you faced mega knight + pekka was very useful for me
