It is a fun game - but it is super pay to win.
It takes a bit of time to actually feel the money wall, but when you get there you will feel like you can do nothing other than pay to continue
It’s pay to the win in the sense that you can’t get to 9k trophies through pure skill in a fast time. Eventually you will hit a wall with unfair level matchups so you will have to grind levels. I’ve been grinding season tokens and doing events when they happen and I’ve managed to get my deck to mostly 12-13, still haven’t paid a dime besides a 4$ starter pack 6 months ago. Currently at 6k trophies.
It’s doable but definitely annoying if you have been climbing fast to get hit by that wall.

It's not pay to win, only bad players pay to win, it's pay to progress faster, which has nothing to do with skill,

This was so helpful. I'm coming back to CR after taking a 5 year break and I felt so lost! Thankfully all my decks, crowns, etc were saved, but there so many new things...

Exactly the same bruh. But my pain is in the fact that everyone has evos and champions and I kinda don't have a place to practice my deck again...
As a multiple top #1 finisher this video was very helpful and allowed me to beat Molight
Tip, you gain princess tower as you level for each level up so you don't need to stress about princess tower using cards, focus on cards.
Second, use a deck that is versatile and pretty much reliable to counter many match ups. For Example, Golem and Lava hound are both reliable beat downs archetypes or Pekka battle ram is a reliable bridge spam stradegy.
Maxing cards that can fit in the archetypes you want to play and they can be subbed in. Forexample, baby dragon fits in golem and lava hound, but can be subbed in Pekka bridge spam with a triple spell, ram rider Pekka deck.
That is one example. A second one is Dark prince. Dark prince can be put into golem decks and Bridge spam can include Dark prince as well.

Its been 3 years since i played clash royale,i have 2 million gold from the chess event 💀
Just came back from a 3 year hiatus at king tower 11 w/ lvl 12 cards. I managed to push up to 6400 but every player I face has lvl 12 or 13 towers & max cards with 2x evolutions. I could keep pushing probably but it just isn't fun when everybody you face has max decks/cards they shouldn't even have access to considering they can't even be unlocked at the trophy range I am at. Also being f2p it is going to take me 3 months to even get my first Evolution. I love supercell!!
Exactly my situation
Clan wars being non-optional is exactly why i'm not in a clan. I work a rotating schedule and there will not be consistent. And as you said, they're boring and usually lopsided where it's plainly obvious day 1 who is going to win. at least, that's how it was when i quit my clan who suddenly changed they're stance on clan wars.
When I play a game, it's to have fun, which means content that isn't fun, I'M NOT GOING TO PLAY IT. The fact that i'm penalized for that is absurd. I actually had quit the game for a couple years. Recently came back, just because the small bits of wasted time it's a convenient time filler.
One other thing I dislike, is THREE minutes of overtime. I wish overtime was just 1 minute.

pro (more like midladder tip): focus your immediate efforts on overlevelling either Mega Knight or PEKKA or Elite Barbarians. Even if they're not amazing cards at top ladder, they can easily get you through midladder since people don't know how to counter them. Overlevelling them only makes this even more pronounced as these types of cards get disproportionately stronger when you upgrade them compared to others. Lots of midladder players can counter a same level MK or PEKKA but one that is 2-3 levels higher is near impossible for them to stop.
Good advice but the fact that it's effective shows that the game is really badly designed for the average person (since midladder is where the most people are).
@@Gloom_Shroom_Gaming Game just rewards bad habits and doesn't give players a chance to really improve or understand basic skills like defending properly, only for them to eventually get stuck in midladder when spamming e barbs rage at the bridge every time you reach 10 elixir no longer works. These people then go on to complain about these cards and demand that MK, witch, wizard, e giant, e golem, little prince etc. need a nerf when they really aren't even that good top ladder.
@@myaltaccountthatiwillbarel2288 Yeah, Clash Royale is decently well balanced (shown by how much tiny balance changes can affect the meta), but the main issue is that the midladder cards are absolutely broken if they are multiple levels ahead of the opponent's, which rewards people for dumping all of their resources into these cards, allowing them to win off of being overlevelled instead of being skilled.
The best way to play is to spend all your money on evolution ice spirit! ✅✅✅

Real. I played CR since 2016-2017 ish when my best friends and me discovered it. At the beginning I wasn't really good but my friend pushed me to arena 4 from Arena 3 and that was helpful as I later got to arena 6 and just stopped. Played a little but found it boring and in 2021 started playing again and had a lot of fun but got bored. My friend introduced me to it in 2024 (now) and the difference in players skill has changed soooo much but i managed to push from Arena 6 to Arena 10 and am not stopping. I really couldn't get the perfect deck but I found something that fits me. I have a lot to study but this video helps, Thanks!❤
I saw it first when someone in my tennis class played it before we started and I asked what it was and he said clash royal so I downloaded it and lost my first account due to not having a supercell Id and then I made a new in 2018 ish and kinda quit, idk when but somewhere in between 2018-2020 and now I’m back after playing it on and of like 2 matches

Card Concept-Royale cleaner/mower from the old videos
Card functions similar to the ram rider with a charge but deals area damage to troops it runs into on its way to target buildings. Does not throw a sling/slowing effect but it would induce a short poison from the mowed grass shooting out
The card would have a short shield (The cleaners helmet) but then only have medium health and do tiny bump damage (only like 150 tower hp)
Goofy card ik but it'd be cool to see a charging lawnmower.
Late improvement -have a very large charge time like 5/6 tiles or have it slowly speed up over time
Again it'd be sort of a meme, but it'd still be hilarious and fun to play.
Also make it a champion and the poison effect it's like 1 elixir ability
Royale Cleaner is a 4 Elixir tank troop that are immune to spells and is a rare card. (What I remember in 2018 when it was added)

You said pushing from 6500 to 9000 doesn’t impact your progression but it actually does. A gold chest in Arena 23 gives 50 cards while Arena 18 (6500) only gives 45 cards.
so 5 whole arenas for 5 cards? in the grand scheme, not really worth it.
Look. I’m not putting it past this guy, but from an experienced midladder player who isn’t a midladder menace, you need to use a basic deck to get you to get to 5k trophies, and then, you want to find a relatively unknown cycle deck. That, or classic logbait. Let’s pick 2.9 minerloon cycle for example. Level this up, and unlock the appropriate evolutions for it, and then basically grind the game until you’ve either got to 9k trophies or reached ultimate champion. Do whatever you want, but please use a cycle deck, that’s all.

What do u mean by basic deck to get to 5k exactly? Im 2700 using evo mortar, gobbarel, mini pekka, valk, baby dragon, gob gang, arrows, zap. Is this deck bad? Should I switch?
@@Bogxs yes, that is a bad deck, and the whole reason why is because you are running evo mortar, and you have 2 win conditions. Mortar is always a huge no for new players, unless you use a deck that actually suits it. If I were you, I’d go with a giant witch deck, but I can give you many more alternatives, depending on what type of player you are, and it looks like you like cycle decks so I can give you an even better deck than this. It’s better for me to help you if I either join your clan, or you join the clan with my account inside. I recently got my mini account from arena 6 to arena 13 relatively easily against overlevelled decks with mine, so I know the pain of being at your trophy level.
Respond to this with your clash royale name, and I can join your clan. If you aren’t in a clan, I can invite you to one. We can either find a deck that suits you, or even build a deck around mortar. UA-cam comments are always annoying to communicate with, that’s all.

You can always screenshot the clan you are in currently so you have the name saved, incase you want to join it again another time.
Instead of shooting one big rocket it could shoot 5-8 in rapid succesion. Or in burts of 3.
Or unlimited until the target dies but it takes near sparky time to target.

Honestly great advice.
The only problem is that Clash Royale is a very unique game and very few games exist that are similar to it.
There is Warcraft Rumble, but it has a similar problem where once you reach a certain point, every opponent you face will have cards like 4 levels higher than yours.

As much as I love 3m and how fun it is to play…this is going to be the next vaulted card like the heal spell bc it just can’t work like it used to and I don’t think any evolution would do it justice as it would be either too weak still or too overpowered.
Dude I used to be in arena 12 a long time ago had a supercell id lost it, now I can’t get past royal arena, rushed there in like 2ish days😭
Ended up finding out that I had 2 accounts linked in my supercell id, idk if it’ll help anyone else but go on supercell Id settings and instead of hitting log out to switch accounts just hit the switch accounts button, there’s a chance the lost one may be there, luckily was for me now I’m arena 15 with every legendary in the game😃
After 1 year of taking a break, I decided to start over, and I burst out laughing seeing they give mega knight and Pekka have evolved forms, I remember people HATE mega knight so much, in conclusion

I would stay stick with one archetype, not just one deck if you really wanna do well. I use lavaloon and I got a few lavaloon decks maxed I can switch around to to fit in with the current, constantly changing meta.
Sure but obviously that takes longer. At the beginning you need to level one deck and only then you can slowly begin on leveling variations of that deck.

Consistency is the biggest thing to progress. Also, if you do want to play a lot, buying a season pass once is a really good investment. When I first started playing I bought it and it really helped.
