Someone once described this to me as a hobby. No. This is a God given right enumerated in our constitution. I am a veteran and this right means a great deal to me and should to everyone.
You are so lucky to live where you do, plenty of places to shoot, and easy availability of firearms. You need to defend and protect these things, they are always under attack.
Neat looking shotgun. As a kid 50 years ago in Fort Worth, Texas I had 7 Horned Toads as "pets" at one time, they were all in our backyard, haven't seen one in many years.
Thanks for the review on this weapon. Oftentimes, side-by-side 20ga are overlooked by many. It appears 12ga is most sought after. Fine by me, as my double barrel is an old 20ga that is easy enough on my 70+ body, yet potent enough for anything that isn't wanted on my place in the woods. My preferred choice in shotguns. 👍
When I was a kid (55 some odd years ago) my father and I would go down in those old gold and silver mines in Nevada, Northern California and Arizona… I look back now and wonder “what the hell were we thinking” but at 10-15 years old, it was a hoot. Sweet looking Shotgun and for me… they could leave that barrel selector off. Great video sir.
When I think back to when I was a kid, I am always shocked at the things we were allowed to get up to. It is only when you have kids of your own you realise how lucky you were to not get hurt. I'm a 62 yo Grandad now, thank God!
What an awesome video mixup. You and your son are doing great for the global UA-cam community, the gunlovers basically. Keep posting to keep us all entertained 🎉
Mixup, all you need is a stagecoach. You are dressed for action. And Son, thanks for the pic of the horned toad. My favorite native lizard and I haven't seen one in years.
I got a 12ga stoger coach gun. The deluxe duel trigger with stainless receiver and blued barrels with choke tubes.Very good looking. Fun as heck. Wanted a coach gun for a while. They just look cool. Lol I think the stoger is the best quality and value for what they cost. I heard the 12 and 20 gauge recoil were extremely close so I went 12ga for more ammo selections
The selector problem is common, more so with inexpensive side by side shotguns than over and under. I usually decide which barrel I want to fire first, configure my chokes to that parameter, and then put a touch of glue to hold the selector.
I am thinking of also configuring my chokes and then pinning the selector switch so it will fire the right barrel first. Glue sounds like a good solution too.
Father and son bonding is what I admire the most . The camera angles & photography is awesome. Thanks for making your videos. You guys are fun and entertaining to watch :) man I want a coach shotgun now! :)
Good morning Troy. We love making these videos together and we are glad to hear that you enjoy them. I'm headed out with my son this morning to shoot another video and do some exploring and the video should be posted this weekend. Thank you for the very nice comment.
As always, good stuff! I live in AZ, but the areas to go and shoot are so limited now with so much development compared to NV. Loved the Horney Toad. I have only seen one of those in the 44 years I have lived here. You have to love nature! I'm glad you guys respect it.
@@DioxXiDeONPS3 I shoot a lot of my videos southeast of Las Vegas, down around the small towns of Nelson and Searchlight. Nelson is about 40 miles out of Vegas. I've never been to BRPC but I hope to make it out there someday.
I have an old Steven's 311 side by side 12. Cheap wood. Birch probably. Had 28" barrel now 18.5. Love this old shotgun she shoots good. She can clear a doorway fast.
Thanks for another great video mixup. I live in Michigan so seeing the different terrain of southern Nevada along with the mine exploration is just another bonus. Thank you for your wholesome quality content!
Good video. For the price of this shotgun I would not expect those finishing issues. They should have sold it as a blemished piece without having to ask for the discount.
damn you guys live in a pretty awesome area - I was so focused on everything else I almost forgot this was a gun review video lol awesome video, keep it up!
Heck yeah, here in Nevada we live close to Lake Mead, the Colorado River, Hoover Dam, old mining camps, ghost towns and gold and silver mines. We can come across rattlesnakes, coyotes, mountain lions, lizards, quail, deer, bighorn sheep, gila monsters and tarantulas. We also have millions of acres of public land where we can shoot, hunt and explore. I don't think I would live anywhere else.
Idea: will a coach gun digest mini shells? Much easier on the middle finger and shoulder if they do. That cod really be fun for you to do your trick shooting!
Years and years ago I had a Garcia 20 gauge double barrel shotgun. I believe it was made in Spain. I have searched long and far trying to find one just like it to no avail 😂
I think its funny to hear just about every short double called a coach gun. The fellow I bought my 100 year + Stevens called the guns he colllected barn guns. So my short double is a bern shotgun. Ain't pretty, but probably got a lot of crows, rats and rabbits on some farm.
Not to say this is a bad gun or anything, but at the price charged, the fit and finish, etc, I probably woulda gone with a Stoeger Uplander or Coach if they weren't such a pain to find right now. I got lucky and managed to pick up a Stoeger 12 and Rossi 20 GA coach gun pair at Rt 66 in Barstow
Hello Sir, mixup98 & Son. I love watching you two having a blast together. And who doesn't like a shotgun plinking video. Thank you both and have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!! Stay Blessed Firends!
I enjoyed, as always, your video covering this shotgun. But I would rather have one in blue or black chrome, with a "classic" fore and aft safety, auto ejectors, and either a gold bead or rifle style front sight (I'm NOT a fan of fiber optic sights on any firearm for personal and professional reasons). What would really trip my trigger, so to speak, would be if the shotgun came with two each of the screw in chokes and/or rifled slug barrels as a package.
Hello Phill. As you probably know I own three coach guns (Citadel, Stoeger, Rossi) and yes, there will be a "battle of the coach guns" video in the near future. 👍😎
Awesome great video. For sure one of your better videos. I want to get a Double Barrel like that for home protection. I hope you all have a safe great holiday.
Came to you guys chanell for the new 10/22 review. Not that i want another one , unless walmart sells some more 22 inch stainless ones , i loaned mine out and "it got stolen" . The 1 i have now is the 4th , a full stock , manlicher typ stock . shoots very well . My coach gun started life as a stevens double field gun , not pretty but her and me have spent more time together than me and the wife . She aint pretty either . 2 days ago 2 grizzlles mopped past the kitchen window. turned right and preabulated past the front door . i live in Montana . right next to the mountains . That old double 12 shoots better than your 20 does . i have kept this old double close for many years . Either that or the S. Blk. Hwk. with my hand loads , 300 gr.cast with a great golup of h110 and a fed mag cap . This side arm thinks it is a young carbine. Wont tell you how well it shoots. When a person calls me a lier it rasis my irer . Anyway , like you and your Son. Gary
That was fun. Congrats on the new gat. I have a blued Stoeger 12 gauge coach that I like a lot. It came with ejectors but I disabled them and now it just extracts. It's a single trigger as well but no selector switch - it just always shoots the right barrel first. Oh and no choke tubes - just modified and improved I think... I use this for CAS so it doesn't really matter.
That horny toad head close up picture is excellent! Like the overall look of the shotgun. Don't care for the selector switch so much. Any day blasting stuff is a good one!
Good looking piece there, shame on the QC of the finish, but it is gonna show some age with a fun shooter. Looks like a bit less kick than my Stoger Coach, again mines 12 ga.... love it
never have cared for tang safeties on shotguns i've always preferred the trigger guard ones! personally i see no need for the selector on that i'd rather have double triggers myself!!
Looking at it from a practical view with those extra chocks and in 12 gauge high power magnum slugs it's capable of taking anything in north America. Papa wishing you well. 😊
Good to see the Horny Toads hanging around. Here in Texas they were almost wiped out by the fire ants killing all the Harvester ants, their main food source. Beautiful area y'all live in, enjoyed the video.

A side by side double barrel is on my wish list. I’ve seen some reviews of stoegers with the single trigger bs the double trigger. On some of the reviews the single trigger would light strike the second shot and sometimes not fire. I have a Yildiz over and under with single trigger but haven’t had any problems. In the future let us know how it performs. Thanks for your videos I really enjoy them.
I have a Stoeger coach gun with the two triggers and I've never had a single problem with it. In fact I used it in cowboy action shooting and it helped me win lots of matches. Don't have any experience with the single trigger Stoeger shotguns.
I've had very poor luck with stoger products. They're side by side coach gun wood fire when closing breach.Send it back twice with the same problem. When I finally said this is a liability. That's when they gave me my money back
Unfortunately, Turkish-made long guns can be a hit or miss. I personally won't buy one for that reason, but their handguns seem pretty solid. I bought a Turkish-made TISAS Service Special in .45 ACP, and the fit and finish is pretty damn good. That being said, I haven't broken it down to clean it first before I hit the range, which will be the first thing I do, so I'll be able to see the inside of it properly. But I doubt there will be any defects. Got it brand new for $349. I highly recommend taking a look at TISAS (also known as "SDS Imports"). In regards to LSI: I have an LSI Puma M92 in .454 Casull that a buddy gave me back in the mid-2000s. It's got a 16" barrel and stainless steel with fiber optic sights. I love it, but I haven't shot it in years. The front sight needs to be pinned back into place, or maybe I'll just use some JB Weld. It's finicky with loads above 260 grains, but you can fit 300 grainers in there if you angle the gun right when you cock the lever. Great fireball too! And this one was made in South America (Brazil?), not Turkey. How are the temps there in Nevada? Here in Oregon we're just coming out of a week-long heat wave in the low-100s. One more day of this shit and then it's back to 90s and 80s, praise be. Not fun only having one 6,0000 BTU A/C in the window when there's no insulation either lol. Anyways, love the videos! Take care!
I just searched to see who manufactures the Citadel double. Several sources state the Philippines. (?) Also, since I would be using two most open chokes I would "carefully" apply some JB Weld with a tooth pick to the selector.

I've concluded that, though these things are easier to make, these have become boutique items with an associated price point.

So the safety switch selects which barrel is fired first. Gives new meaning to the term safety first. 😁
Imagine if a saftey could switch from safe to semi to full. Youd probably have to still disengage the safety first though
That's very normal, particularly on higher end doubles.
Good seeing the dynamic duo this morning! Thanks for showing that beauty off. Thumbs up video ~John

I also have a Stoeger 12 gauge and I have fired both barrels at the same time, although not with 3 inch loads....ouch!
@@mixup98 Yeah, just a bit too much recoil, even for me. I had initially thought the gun blew up!
Do that a few times and you will definitely blow up a SxS. They're designed for around 13-14,000 psi. Double that and you're in danger!
Could you do a video on the Ruger mark series .22 pistols? I know you showed them with ammo tests but they need their own video.
My son owns a Mark 1 and I have a Mark II and I like your suggestion. Perhaps we will do a video in the near future.
Toad will enjoy that watermelon
Another great video, thanks for sharing, keep up the good work(play)
Nice video. I think you could use this for skeet and trap too?
Cool coach gun.
Love those Coach SxSs.
A lot of new shooters may consider these for cowboy action shooting, but that sight is an issue. Wonder if it's easy to change out to a bead.
