My ex's sister walked home after drinking at a party at the college a town over and as she walked on the sidewalk on the phone with a friend because she was nervous to be walking alone, a drunk driver hit her. She didn't make it. The driver drove right off but thankfully they did find him. If any friends drink with me I really push them to stay over if possible or get a ride or call a cop/uber/whatever. I used to have a hard time doing that but once she died so young because she was doing the right thing and walking home, it really made it easy for me. I've gotten people plenty mad over it but I don't care about that. I care about them and the innocent people they could hurt.

I work in an ER and the high blood alcohol level I've seen was 520, so 0.52%. Collapsed behind a bar after pt tried to physically fight his friend to get his keys back. Pt had said he was going to walk home, left his keys with friend. Instead, he went to another bar to drink more, came back to original bar for his keys. He ended up intubated. I'm glad he didn't drive though.

I am 35, soon 36. I have had my fair share of drunken encounters with police. I have NEVER EVER had any issue following their orders. 1) jail is cold, I hate the cold, and my local jail serves food still frozen. 2) cuffs are not comfortable, and back passenger of cop cars are also Not comfortable. 3) I don't like getting hurt unless I am allowed to hurt back, otherwise not worth it. One time, I was stumbling my way home from a friends party, 17 at the time. Cops stopped me, went through the process, & then my moms called while the cops had my phone...Cops took me home, to a very angry mother, told me "never let us catch you again", & I will admit, I begged them to take me to jail. They laughed and said "No, have fun!"

Thing is, in most states, if you fail the FSTs and blow over the legal limit, you get your license suspended for six months. But you can apply for a conditional/hardship license that restricts you to driving between home and work. But if you refuse, it's an automatic, immediate 1 year suspension with no conditional license, even if you blow 0.0 later. Any SOBER lawyer knows their state's DWI laws backwards and forwards, and whether or not they're an Implied Consent state. In those states, when you sign for your driver's license, you also give your consent for FSTs in the future.

I'm always confused by the people claiming to be "waiting for plates" for a month or more (and think a cardboard note on the car is good enough). Every time I've registered a car I've walked out of the tag office with the plate in my hand. Even 20 years ago, I had a paper temporary tag and the metal plates came 2 weeks later, and I certainly would have gone back to the tag office if the temporary tag was close to expiring and I didn't have the final plates yet. The one with the two cited for window tint and child safety was amazingly anti-climactic. They didn't even get a speeding ticket? And were allowed to drive off with the kids still improperly restrained after a second offense?
We got our plates stolen and they gave us a case number to show if a cop pulled us over while we waited about a week or two to get them in the mail. That's the only time I've not had them

I have NEVER EVER had any issue following their orders. 1) jail is cold, I hate the cold, and my local jail serves food still frozen. 2) cuffs are not comfortable, and back passenger of cop cars are also Not comfortable. 3) I don't like getting hurt unless I am allowed to hurt back, otherwise not worth it. One time, I was stumbling my way home from a friends party, 17 at the time. Cops stopped me, went through the process, & then my moms called while the cops had my phone...Cops took me home, to a very angry mother, told me "never let us catch you again", & I will admit, I begged them to take me to jail. They laughed and said "No, have fun!"

There actually is a short story and a movie based on a story about people getting lured into this ominous corn field. They end up getting stuck in this crazy time warp/loop where the corn is just endless, and it messes with you. As always, SK stories always sound silly as heck whenever I try to retell or give a synopsis of it. Anyway, you should for sure check it out if you haven't seen it!

DA Alvin Bragg let them go with no bond. Voters were promised that NY's "bail reform" wouldn't apply to violent crime. That didn't last five minutes.

It was a $1,000 signature bond. That means she just had to sign her name to get out. She pays if she doesn’t show up to court.

Thing is, in most states, if you fail the FSTs and blow over the legal limit, you get your license suspended for six months. But you can apply for a conditional/hardship license that restricts you to driving between home and work. But if you refuse, it's an automatic, immediate 1 year suspension with no conditional license, even if you blow 0.0 later. Any SOBER lawyer knows their state's DWI laws backwards and forwards, and whether or not they're an Implied Consent state. In those states, when you sign for your driver's license, you also give your consent for FSTs in the future.

Actually as my buddy says whos and ex cop, was a cop for 8 years he said being a cop makes you hate this country so much more, he says its all about money, pulling people over with certain kinds of cars and cars with certain music playing, he said it doesnt have anything to do with race, he was told at points in his career to pull over anyone with blarring music, anyone that is overly aggressive looking ( race didnt matter) they were told to look up licenses plates and if they have any kind of charge that possibly could happen again they were told to pull them over. He said it was all for bonuses the departments get bonuses and extra funding the more people they put in prison because one of the biggest profits in America is the prison systems

My dad used to drive drunk and act a fool, over nine DUIs over multiple states. Two of the DUI stops, my brother and I were in the truck. I used to be terrified of cops bc of my dad's constant interactions with them. I'm now almost 30, and I've found if you don't do criminal shit, the cops seem to bother you a bit less. 😂

Some places don’t allow police chases in without major crimes. They just take the plates and find them later . In todays world you think they should put the dogs on a person immediately 😢

I'm always confused by the people claiming to be "waiting for plates" for a month or more (and think a cardboard note on the car is good enough). Every time I've registered a car I've walked out of the tag office with the plate in my hand. Even 20 years ago, I had a paper temporary tag and the metal plates came 2 weeks later, and I certainly would have gone back to the tag office if the temporary tag was close to expiring and I didn't have the final plates yet. The one with the two cited for window tint and child safety was amazingly anti-climactic. They didn't even get a speeding ticket? And were allowed to drive off with the kids still improperly restrained after a second offense?
We got our plates stolen and they gave us a case number to show if a cop pulled us over while we waited about a week or two to get them in the mail. That's the only time I've not had them
