      Honestly, you might be correct. Since making this project I have experienced more stitch techniques and now have a better understanding and exposure to such stitches as the extended double crochet. I guess you can at least see that working a regular double crochet stitch works out this way. If you would like to swap out the extended double crochet stitch used in the pattern for the double crochet stitch that I work in the tutorial, feel free! 😊❤️🧶

I think I am a pro at the extended treble stitch! The boarder added a wow factor to it. It will be a Christmas gift. I'm proud of the finished product. I am so excited for you to give this blanket a try! I do believe that the best thing you could possibly do is get the pattern though. In the pattern there is a chart showing you different blanket sizes and how many chains you will need to start each. The pattern also helps you get from row to row so you don't have to keep referring to the video. It's just a great resource you will find yourself going back to time and time again. Here's a link to help you get to it faster: CLICK HERE: www.crochetwithtiffany.com/product-page/white-truffle-throw-blanket

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 роки тому +1

      You could definitely work up this blanket with a 5-6 weight yarn. But I would go up a crochet hook size from what is recommended on the yarn label for a more drapey and comfortable feel. And the chart won’t work but you could just follow the desired blanket dimensions and use a tape measure to get where you want to be. 👍🏻😊❤️🧶

    There is a different way to get the same effect. Use the same technique as DC except don't pull through 2 loops , but one loop, then two, and then two, like crochet a triple crochet without looping 3 at the start of the dc.

    I love this pattern I’m having a hard time finding the white truffle yarn… I was looking at Michael’s and they have Karen cakes big cakes it is acrylic and has no wool in it I’m wondering if we could substitute that for The regular Caron cakes. Also wondering how I could find the crochet hook with a longer shaft the ones I saw at craft stores were just regular sized. Seems like I remember Tiffany saying something about we could order it maybe on her website? I’m new here so excuse me if I’m wrong just trying to find things… And if she sells the white truffle yarn I’d be interested in that also

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 роки тому

      Hi Lois, I too have noticed that this yarn has seemed to be very tricky to get a hold of. Though there are many Caron Latte cake yarn colors that you could substitute for. You can also find the crochet hook size used for this project by looking in both the description section and comment section of this video. I pinned the comment to the very top of the comment section for fast access. You can find a longer shaft crochet hook at any craft store including Walmart, Michaels, JoAnn’s, Hobby Lobby and others. We are hoping to start selling crochet hooks and yarn on my website in the near future. But always feel free to look on my website for more information on patterns as well. I loved the video. You explain very well.
    but I have a doubt.
    we start with a multiple of 8+1 and we make 1 more chain, is that right?
    In the end it will give us a multiple of 8+2, right?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  8 місяців тому +1

      That is correct. You can look at it that way. The idea is that there is only 1 turning chain. The other 1 is actually part of the foundation row. If that makes sense. 😊🧶❤️

    Hi. I'm making a blanket with a simple moss stitch. I want to put the ruffle border around the blanket. How do you suggest I get it started? I have already made a blanket with this pattern and ruffle border. The 1st row of the border on this video says to do 2 or 3 single crochet in the gaps. Is the goal just getting a single crochet border all around the blanket for the 1st row? Sorry if I'm not being clear.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Рік тому

      Hello! Great question. I'm so happy you like the ruffle border and would like to add it to your blanket. Yes, the first step is to make sure the border will work by making a single crochet border around the blanket to gauge the count. That way if you need to increase or decrease your amount of stitches it is super easy to do so. I hope this helps! 😊❤️🧶

    So I have an upcoming wedding and thought this would be a great gift! Is Caron Jumbo in Gravel the same as the Cake white truffle? I cannot find the cakes in white truffle anywhere reasonable. Also what size is your throw on the chart? It looks like a large throw but says you used 5 skeins.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Shawn! Go for it! Both the Caron Jumbo yarn and the Caron Cake yarn that I used are a size 4 weight yarn (same size) and they look to be very comparable in fibers too. I think they would work up very similarly. To figure out how much yarn you will want to use for the blanket size you desire to make I would definitely recommend you look at my chart. Each caron cake I used has approximately 383 yards of yarn in it. The blanket I show off in my video is a demo. That means I don't exactly follow a specific blanket "size" I make it just big enough to show people an example of how the pattern will look. If someone wants to know how many skeins of yarn I used to make the demo I let them know. But please don't let that number distract you into thinking you can make an adult throw blanket with only 5 skeins of yarn. Definitely follow my chart. I included dimensions of the blanket size so you know how big it will be. Find the one size you want to make, and then look to see how much yarn I approximated by doing the math that you will need to accomplish that blanket size. By substituting for the Caron Jumbo yarn you will get more yarn out of your skein then you would the Caron Cake. Look to see how many yards of yarn are in the Caron Jumbo skein, then look to see how many yards of yarn I approximated you will need to make the blanket you want to make. Divide the blanket total yards by how many yards of yarn are in the Caron Jumbo skein. This will tell you approximately how many skeins of yarn you will need to complete your project.
      I hope this helps! So excited for you to make this blanket! It's a lot of fun! 😊🧡🧶

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Рік тому

      Great question Abigail! Ok, referencing back to the pattern, Row 5 would be an exact replica of Row 1. The difference is that Row 1 was made off of the Foundation Row chain and not into stitches from the row below. This would make sense why the repeat begin with Row 2 and goes through Row 5.
      Rows 2 and 3 begin and end with half a fan stitch, Rows 4 and 5 begin and end with a Sc stitch. I hope this helps. 😊🧡🧶

      Hi Billie. I'm sorry that what I'm am telling you to do and what you see me doing may not be completely the same. Honestly, I'm not quite sure why I wasn't actually performing the Extended Double crochet stitch there in the beginning. I know I do really emphasis how to do the Extended Double crochet stitch in the tutorial however maybe that was the next row of stitches that I put more emphasis on that. You actually do not have to use Extended Dc stitches to make this pattern. That was my own recommendation for the pattern to lay flatter. But it was not actually in the stitch pattern to extend the stitch. So, feel free to take what you want from this pattern and have fun😊🧶🧡.

    I am so sad. I decided to make this beautiful blanket and bought 6 skeins, then realized it's not enough. I can no longer find any. I am a complete beginner. This was my first afghan, and I don't even know how to read patterns yet.

      Oh my, there is so much I would like to guide you with and mentor you on. Firstly, let's back way way up. If you are a complete beginner, lets begin with learning basics. How to crochet basic stitches, what the name for each stitch is, and abbreviations. Practice a little. Get comfortable with what you are doing. Dig into my Crochet Basics Playlist here on UA-cam to learn about how to figure out how much yarn you will need for a blanket project and other tips and tricks. THEN start an actual project. When you find a project, look at the skill level the project is and try to find projects for absolute beginners. These projects are at your level and you will find so much joy in making them. Eventually you will be able to graduate to more difficult patterns as you get more comfortable. This White Truffle Throw Blanket Pattern is for a skilled Intermediate Level Crocheter. You might want to put this pattern up on your goals list that you are working up to. I hope this helps! Trust me, I get wanting to dive right in. But instead of doing so and causing frustrations and struggles, let's do this correctly, start at the beginning and learn the foundation, so when you do dive into a project it can be AWESOME!!!! 😊❤️🧶

      @CrochetWithTiffany I have to tell you thank you. This blanket is so beautiful. I was able to watch your video and make it. I also learned to do research on the instructions before starting. 😅 🙃 I did find more yarn, I just needed patience. You have taught me a lot of basic stitches, and I am so thankful for you. Next, I hope to start learning to read patterns. I know you are taking a break so I hope you have a blessed vacation.

    Don't say Tog, it's very ....annoying

      Hmm, that could be a big problem for you then moving forward in your crochet journey because the term “tog” is a common term used when crocheting stitches together. For this exact stitch there is no getting around it without saying the elongated word “together” every time.
