Sir, I have not met you nor seen your video but had the same vision that you shared for two tier rail or metro corridor. Glad to know that Mumbai at least has you as a visionary. Will connect with you soon for Self Redevelopment. Thank You

Thank you for your kind words. It’s a pity that the two tier rail transportation project had to be given up in favour of the metro network. When 7 million use the suburban railway network and it is shameful that there are thousands of deaths due to overcrowding, citizens must demand that more money be spent on easing the commute.

Pune metro gave birth to 650m transit oriented redevelopment zone from boundary of each station on metro route with more fsi to redevelop a building in that zone depending only on width of adjacent road. Now urban dev dep wants to add clause 33(23) to dcpr2034 on more fsi to building that is located within just 500m from boundary of metro stations on Colaba to Seepz metro line 3.

TOR zones are created wherever means of communication reaches the masses. Metro, mono rails, highways, fast track roads, all create TOR zones. UDCPR which is applicable to Pune is applicable to all cities in Maharashtra. Any amendment to these DCRs will be applicable to all cities including Pune.

@@chandrashekharprabhuoffici686 Creation of TOD zone length of walkable and cyclable distances from boundary of metro/mono rail station in Indian cities is a very smart idea (one can even carry cycle inside metro) but in Pune city, builders are digging upto as high as 4 underground floors to sell covered parking to external buyers and at other end telling rehab members that usage of metro rail has to be maximized but not usage of cars and scooters. Nowadays lot of tasks can be done online from home without the need to travel and small nations like Netherlands, Finland, etc are making smart use of cycling for daily travel- something which indian cities like Pune and Mumbai should learn from. Pune was good for cycling in around 1990 but after that became risky to cycle as population of light and heavy motor vehicles exploded with the start of expressway. Hope the metro line is smartly and effIciently used and serves the purpose in whichever Indian city it is built in.

Shame on BMC, even with cemented road it's super bumpy and has all over a disgusting patchy look and nightmare to ride on. If they can't build as basic as simple smooth roads then u can't do anything. Netas used it as cash cow nothing else
