I wish I was home playing it right now. I started a new game yesterday and also did the 5 days and used your stone knife trick to make a little money. Also at the starting location, turn around, take the path left a tiny bit then go up the hill. There’s a crate with 300 gold and 3 iron ores. I did see a bunch of elk and badgers around the west side of the lake on the really flat piece of land in the woods. I hope that made sense lol. Great video.

I found the rock pile on the hill you mentioned and it did have 3 hundred coins and 3 iron ore. But all these videos I'm seeing seem to be for older versions of the game. The berries only pay 0.1 silver now and apparently that rock pile should have thousands in them. But oh well it gives me a reason to forge my own way
@@BetterIntegra Yes, the videos you mentioned are from earlier versions of the game, and the thousands of coins was nerfed (almost right after it was released). So, the rock piles will only have a few hundred coins now. My 2000 coins on day 1 is still a viable videos, you can find it in my tips and tricks playlist. Hope this helps
tip: dont recruit the person you have been courting..once you do, the attraction percentage gets reset.

I did 5 days as well but honestly with the new "Sleep until next season" option that can be used after 3 days into a season, one could use 30 days per season and when they ran out of things to do just sleep. There may be other consequences I am not aware of for doing that though so don't quote me, I hope that makes sense. I am in total agreement about building placement and the inability to see. I suggested taller foundations a long time ago and glad they added them but they didn't do it very well. There may be limits on how they are placed like the crops for example.
I rarely sleep in this game, but The 30 day season with that feature is definitely a good idea. Even a 15 day season.

I do this. Winter is always only 3 days. The rest are 4-5 usually, but it's nice to have options.
Once you make that cave a mine, it will automatically be lit up.
Oh yes, we all rejoiced when the devs introduced that during testing, but also made it harder to get. It did not use to require as many points. Thanks for the comment.

I place two ruts/paths going inside the cave and alter torches both sides so it appears a cart travels into and out again.

The potion you have is a health potion it just gives you more health, but does not heal you, so taking it during your Bison fight would have done nothing LOL. Also I planted my tree seedlings and it didn't need the ground to be fertilized. Good Vid

It still increases your base health by 50, so would've "healed" him 50 health, temporarily.
It currently works like that in the current version

I do plan on doing something for the CO-OP. Still not sure when CO-OP will release but plans on my end are in the works.
Great video! I found the pickaxe is no longer two-handed so you can hold your torch when you mine - not sure if you can place any torches in the mine, but with the change to the pickaxe there's kinda no need for placing torches in the mine (other than aesthetic), and i'm not sure standing torches would light up in the daytime anyways.

You can place standing torches in the mine, but I found that to be a tad expensive at the time (have nearly 300 linen thread after my second spring), considering how many you need to light everything up. I found the stone fires to be more economical (stone and fire wood). Sure you have to light them every night, but it doesn't take long.
Also, if you build a road into the Mine, it will probably create an issue with placing the actual Mine structure.
Cant wait to see how the village will look as you build up the homes and such for the new faces :)

Just wanted to say that I've been placing those campfires inside the cave since I started playing. Problem is, its so dark inside they don't provide a whole lot of light and you need to bring lots of sticks with you too. So, I'd say you should be able to place torches inside too.

I think the removal of the need to get people's affection up before you can recruit them makes it harder for new players to know when to recruit villagers. I see now, after 2 wasted play throughs of a year each, that I don't need villagers until much, much later. Maybe get one villager earlier for wood products, like logs and sticks so you don't need to collect it yourself, but all of the other buildings are pointless until much later. What do you think?
Each players villager and building needs will be different. This is a game you can play the way you want to play. I just suggest taking your time and enjoy the game.

In answer to your 3 questions ...
1) You can place down torches, or at least you could in pre-release, I had torches down, and campfires in between to save on resources, and baskets with them as drop points; it was excellent :) I'm not at that point yet since the V1 release, so I don't know if they've changed anything.
2) I've placed a blacksmith right against the stone ledge/wall on the side with the trees. I actually had 2 there, tucked in quite nicely with torches and campfire between them, at night they looked amazing!! During the day, it really fit the locale, and I was thrilled they fit.

Ok, I came mine in the woodland area where you first come out of Gostovia heading towards Denica, towards where the first lots of boar are, but before the road. Basically where your village was last year in that lower forest area. They are fast, and solid.
I stood right next to the bleeping thing and threw with full force spears, and they just bounced off, not a hit, nor a scratch, nothing. Damnable things, hahaha (just like ARK cousin, the Purlovia!!).

Spears are worthless on anything but rabbits. Boar and wolfs are far more aggressive. Moose are good for food but be ready to run a lot to kill them with 3-5 arrows.
@@JHNielson4851 need to get some extra coin and go buy a iron crossbow and iron bolts. should make quick work of most stuff.
@@HecticNasari - Do you get all your bolts back when you skin the animal? I've noticed with stone arrows I get about 20% back. Not sure why as even with new arrows I get fewer back then before 1.0.
@@JHNielson4851 There is a smaller chance at breaking bolts than stone arrows. So, you will not get all bolts back.
I did see a video where they were showing how and why it is a great idea to put torches in the mines.

To me it looks like you get the raised entrance with stairs when the terrain is not level. Obstacles now seem to be trees, mineable rocks, etc.

Building could have done with a stage after placing that let you clear the site and place the initial structure kind of how fields have the marker stakes until it's been fully grubbed up rather than plopping the frame down or saying you can't build because of "stuff" blocking that isn't highlighted or obvious from the viewpoint of the builder.

So I didn’t read all the comments so hopefully this is fresh info, also I haven’t reached the mine yet on FR, as I had to restart. Now, it used to be when you put the mine on the cave, it installed torches throughout said cave. No shit pretty sweet. For why I had to restart, simple I didn’t finish Dobra-uniegost wife’s quest before his, so the game gets AFU for some reason. Simple fix, finish her quest early. Keep these episodes coming friend they’re great

So Idk if anyone know about this but also when it comes to hunting, there is a small explote, just build a quick small fence box, it kind of breaks the AI especially at distance, Killed 2 bears with just a load of stone arrows

@@HecticNasari I thought of a fix myslef, just make it to where you cant build around hostile animals, like a circumference from the animal itself.

tools go in the resource storage and make sure you have jobs assigned for each workstation

Custom settings nothing over high though. Low shadows and low foliage.

How do you use fertilizer on your orchard trees? I don't get the option.
I think it might have changed to where you don't need it. Did you try to just plant the tree without it?
Orchards do not require fertilizer, or any maintenance after planting. Just grub up the plot and plant your seedlings.

Lol in game I like to have my wife do one of three things, depending on her skills. 1st is hunting, 2nd logging, 3rd is cooking roasted meat. This also depends on if I already have villagers doing any of the 3 things mentioned
