After facing QB's like Brandon Allen, Cam Newton, Mike Glennon, Zach Wilson and Ian Book in December, you absolutely should have a winning record. On the flip side, in the McDaniel era we faced Josh Allen (3 times), Justin Herbert, Brock Purdy, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes in 2022 and 2023. Also, given the nature of the roster we have now, the injuries that the Dolphins have sustained absolutely impacted the chances of success in 2022 and 2023. I can't say the same one way or another in 2019-2021. We'll see what happens this season down the stretch. We face the Jets twice, Texans in Houston, 49ers at home, and the Browns in Cleveland. But the two tenures are incomparable, in my opinion.
Omar loves to make it seem like he looks at the raw data, but he doesn't. He's just like most other media types talking football. Which is to say he pulls it out his a** as he goes
Flores didn’t degrade him! He didn’t attack his culture, weight, intelligence or anything of that nature. He talked strictly about his game! As he’s supposed to. Number 1 needs to realize; all coaches aren’t the same! So why is it the caoch has to adjust to the player; not the player to the coach? Or Atleast mutual. Everyone isn’t Mcdaniel .
Flo Over Achieved with the Rosters he had.... McDaniel has Under Achieved so far... Say what you want about him, but he's a Good Coach ‼️ They have Loaded Rosters now and they've won or more game and they play more games now
Let me correct Omar, Tua has played more REGULAR season games than Burrow. Burro has 7 playoff games, so that gives Burrow I believe 5 more career games than Tua.
Isn't the reason why you're hired as a coach is because the previous coach was terrible no matter the race? Unless something tragic happens to Andy Reed, I don't see the Chiefs job being open at all.
Yes, jobs that are open are generally bad teams. Flores wasn't set up to fail, he was actually set up for long term success. Same situation as Zac Taylor. He set himself up to fail.
How can you say he was a good coach if he could not maintain relationships? Head coach is mostly a leadership role. If you can't figure out what kind of feedback your players respond well to, and you can't maintain a good relationship with your QB or your boss (owner) or your GM or any of your OCs and people are quitting because they don't want to work with you then you are a bad head coach. It doesn't matter how good you are at Xs and Os; that's less than 50% of the job. And this is not unique to football or unique to sports; it's true in any business. If you are in a leadership role the most important thing is your relationships with the people you are supposed to lead.
How the heck do anyone of you blame Flores knowing he was set to fail? You guys do remember being investigated because of this right? Thank God Flores got us to 5 games! The only thing he did wrong was not lose enough to Get Joe Burrow.
Mohammad Kamara looks like a steal im the 6th round. 6'q.5" and 255-260 lbs His Pro day numbers were great 4.55-40, tremendous dous 20 yard split, excellent 3 cone drill can bench press 400. He has a great bend explosive ans can set the edge. His motor is exceptio al.
I’m not sure what Omar says about Flo is true. He has bias and clearly doesn’t like him. The Dolphins have had dysfunction for decades under Ross. I’m sure that had more to do with Caldwell and Gailey leaving. Flo said he wasn’t ready to play Tua, only to play him 2 weeks later. He was clearly forced to play Tua by management. Gailey said he didn’t think Tua was ready either. Gailey clearly saw this dysfunction and wanted out. Same with Fangio this past year. MM clearly doesn’t run this team. Fangio saw this dysfunction and high tailed it out of here. He was the highest paid DC. If there was truly something special going on here where he thought they’d win a SB, he wouldn’t have left. I don’t buy this whole “he wanted to be in Philly anyway”. BS. I’ve quit and turned down jobs before. That sounds like one of those bs excuses. Why would anyone not want to live in Miami as the highest paid DC and no state taxes if they thought they’d win a SB. He already knows that it would be roughly 3 years max. This isn’t a 30 year commitment to retiree type job. I DON’T BELIEVE IT and we’ll never truly know.
Barry hating on the team Already and counting out the Dolphins….! “Nice team , but don’t expect much”. What a downer him talking about the team the rest of the year!
OMG Barry with blinders. The Dolphins were a shell of themselves. Both wide outs injured, both pass rushers out, half the defense gone, and the entire offensive line gone. Barry is a dishonest reporter.
My thoughts on flo, he wasn’t set up to fail, he was set up to tank for a pick and he failed the tank on his own. If he just did what he was supposed to do we’d have the number one pick that year and built from that. But no, screwed that up, he screwed up relationships, gets fired, then snitches and caused us to lose a 1st rounder. Then claims to be taking the moral high ground. But where was his morals when he was on the patriots when they cheated? No where.
A set of wickets is better than our O-line at the end of last year. So Izzy, OBJ, Malik and a healthy Hill and Waddle aren't better than last year at the end of the season? The TE room is also clearly better. The entire backfield was absent due to injuries at the end of the season; ergo the backfield is infinitely better. The entire team is infinitely better than the injury riddled team last year.
Omar is delusional. He says that Flo was very hard to get along with. Then if you can’t get along with the owner you’d usually be fired in any business
American football culture is suffused with the belief that player performance can only be unlocked through the systematic application of emotional abuse. But is this true?
Baltimore scored a mere three more points than the injury riddled Dolphins under in a 30 MPH arctic freezer. Baltimore was at home and had the league MVP and got humiliated by KC.
I like McDaniel and would love to play for a guy like that.... but for a team that is notoriously soft come late in the season/playoffs.... is Country Club McDaniel really the right approach?
I always agree with Omar (usually lol) but we hired Flores for 5 years! Some times tank to set them up for the future and it wasn’t personal to Flo. It was just the plan and he took the job knowing that. If he would have got the qb relationship right and didn’t go rogue he would have had a real shot but he ruined his opp himself.
In other words Flo fucked up all the plans of the org and I’m glad he’s gone. Tua, Phillips, X, Jackson, etc were all actively brought down by him and almost ruined some of their careers. That is not a leader or head coach material.
If Tua is the man I am he will break his back to prove someone wrong success has always been the best form of revenge I suspect he’s exactly like me in that regard intelligent people get it
bruh..... "demeaning and degrading" is not tough love. That's just being toxic which is proven in every study to be ineffective for retention. Yeah, you can get results with toxic leadership. But you will lose your best talent.
The Dolphins are better at Safety than last year. Holland wasn't on the field December on; the Dolphins are better at corner, X wasn't X all year, Linebacker - better. Edge better. What planet are you on Barry?
Minkah was a roaming Safety and they didn’t want a roaming Safety. I don’t mind the trade. Definitely wouldn’t have if we got Jonathan Taylor instead of CB Noah I.
@@JaakSparrow Buddy was getting smoked every deep play. He protected nothing deep. Great roving tackler who could assist on coverage but sucked in one on one coverage.
Every single player on the Miami dolphins offense has injury issues besides two players. Durham Smythe and Austin Jackson. Everyone else on the entire starting offense missed games last year. And to think anything's going to change this year you have to be delusional. Miami's offense are fragile ballerinas. Don't get me wrong they are fast and can score points. But to treat them like princesses during practice is going to reserve them for January and December is moronic.

There was a good quote from. A sports radio guy up here today. He said, he finds it hard to believe that Flores had that big of an effect on Tua after Tua played for Nick Saban. This was clearly a revenge take for Tua. It was premeditated and he laid it on Flores to make him look bad. He's made these statements every year about Flores. Give it up Tua. You look weak. I've been a fan of Miami since the 70's. I've seen the glory days and the last 25 years of crap.. this is a bad look and it's a symptom of why this team is soft.

1/13/24 vs. Chiefs - Lost 26-7 (Tua 1 TD 1 INT, Mahomes 1 TD - Chiefs kick 4 FGs & Dolphins RBs rush for 42 yds on 14 carries)
Simply put, in 2020 and 2021 the Dolphins faced 2 total Super Bowl contending teams in Buffalo and Kansas City.
Injury bug hit much harder for mcdaniels
Injury 🤕 hit McDaniel.
Poor Omar, I feel you baby.
I don’t get the fascination with Burrow. Can’t be watching the games he was terrible last year when he was on the field.
Agreed
Terrible is a bit harsh....but he wasn't a top 3 QB last year when healthy
thanks Omar ..for trying to set Barry straight...Flores methods weren't old school..they were awful
Flores has a fragile ego.
It obviously was conveyed, they signed him to a 5yr deal. Hes claiming he never agreed to it to benefit his lawsuit.
He also didn't handle Minkah Fitzpatrick correctly. We traded Minkah because of Flores.
Flo Over Achieved with the Rosters he had.... McDaniel has Under Achieved so far... Say what you want about him, but he's a Good Coach ‼️ They have Loaded Rosters now and they've won or more game and they play more games now
Nope. You're completely wrong. Flores went 5-11 and 10-6 his first 2 years as head coach. While mcdaniels went 9-8 and 11-6.
Let me correct Omar, Tua has played more REGULAR season games than Burrow. Burro has 7 playoff games, so that gives Burrow I believe 5 more career games than Tua.
Brian Flores : Tua :: Sean Payton : Russell Wilson
Isn't the reason why you're hired as a coach is because the previous coach was terrible no matter the race? Unless something tragic happens to Andy Reed, I don't see the Chiefs job being open at all.
Yes, jobs that are open are generally bad teams. Flores wasn't set up to fail, he was actually set up for long term success. Same situation as Zac Taylor. He set himself up to fail.
Cambell was more productive than Wilkins per snap last year.!😮
Well, he can't blame Flores for his play after he was fired. Tua got the bag and has no excuses. Tua wants everything perfect. He sounds so soft
I’m with O on this one…
How can you say he was a good coach if he could not maintain relationships? Head coach is mostly a leadership role. If you can't figure out what kind of feedback your players respond well to, and you can't maintain a good relationship with your QB or your boss (owner) or your GM or any of your OCs and people are quitting because they don't want to work with you then you are a bad head coach. It doesn't matter how good you are at Xs and Os; that's less than 50% of the job. And this is not unique to football or unique to sports; it's true in any business. If you are in a leadership role the most important thing is your relationships with the people you are supposed to lead.
Flores deserves credit for not accepting Ross's bribes to lose games.
Flores should be black listed from the NFL
@@alexduenas9041 Ross should be blacklisted from the NFL.....
I think the incentives to tank was done in jest. nice to leave that part out
How the heck do anyone of you blame Flores knowing he was set to fail?
You guys do remember being investigated because of this right? Thank God Flores got us to 5 games! The only thing he did wrong was not lose enough to Get Joe Burrow.
Barry was on fire this episode
Mohammad Kamara looks like a steal im the 6th round.
6'q.5" and 255-260 lbs
His Pro day numbers were great 4.55-40, tremendous dous 20 yard split, excellent 3 cone drill can bench press 400.
No where.
Kill the injury talk‼️ Cincinnati already played in a Superbowl and a AFC Championship game, c'mon Omar😂
20+ players hurt from a 53 man roster......yeah injuries matter
Next year, give us the tough games in Miami heat 🥵 🔥 or no snow games that's making it even.
How can someone really say that the Falcons are in the same league as Dolphins. Come on man. Debbie Downer. Concord another team.
agree with Barry on fringe...we haven't won a playoff game in two and a half decades...
Flores got more out of his players than McDaniel has with his. McDaniel is happy go lucky.
I’m not gonna lie it really hurt my heart listening to how Debbie downer Barry was today!
Omar thank you for being positive!
The Trent Williams trade set the 49ers up then they went and got CMC they have the best Oline coach in the league.
Cell block c needs to put aluminum foil on the WiFi antenna’s 😂 poor Barry
Barry is wrong. Very wrong. The only group they’re not better at on defense is the line. Safety better. Corner better.
I'll take 800 snaps from Campbell at 2 million over 2100 snaps from Wilkins at 27.5 million every day and twice on Sundays.
This Flores thing is making us look soft.
Yep all the crybabies coming out now
Nobody is a contender against KC! So daft Barry is wrong again. San Francisco isn't!
Once we have the 53, I'm curious to see what the average age will be.
I can accept Miami as a fringe Superbowl contender
Jimmy treated Star Players differently
If Tua is the man I am he will break his back to prove someone wrong success has always been the best form of revenge I suspect he’s exactly like me in that regard intelligent people get it
bruh.....
"demeaning and degrading" is not tough love. That's just being toxic which is proven in every study to be ineffective for retention. Yeah, you can get results with toxic leadership. But you will lose your best talent.
We should have just kept Adam Gase for another year if the goal was to tank in 2019 which we all know that it was.
Gailey quit because Fitz git benched and he knew at that time Fitz was better.....
The Dolphins are better at Safety than last year. Holland wasn't on the field December on; the Dolphins are better at corner, X wasn't X all year, Linebacker - better. Edge better. What planet are you on Barry?
Didn't Tua say his own father used to spank him if he lost a game, or made mistakes on the field.
Minkah was a roaming Safety and they didn’t want a roaming Safety. I don’t mind the trade. Definitely wouldn’t have if we got Jonathan Taylor instead of CB Noah I.
Naw that was stupid he was def an exceptional player day 1
@@JaakSparrow Buddy was getting smoked every deep play. He protected nothing deep. Great roving tackler who could assist on coverage but sucked in one on one coverage.
Brian Flores tanked his own QB situation to get a guy he wanted like Watson.
And when the dolphins beat them teams that Barry named he’ll act like he never said it
Barry just being stubborn today. Making no sense.
Give Barry hell Omar!
Flores set himself up for failure.
Tua sounds sassasasoooooft..! Oh ; 😢😢 he yelled at me. He didn’t kiss my feet like Grier and McDaniels. He’s a meany
😂🤦🏾♂️😂😂
Flores couldn't even tank right.
Barry might as well be applying for an espn analyst job with all those espn headlines he preaches 😂😂
We have a mental weak quarterback
I think Flores was well aware that was tanking - 100% - but his personality - now well documented was F YOU. I will do what I want. Win regardless. Chase Watson without GM approval. I am angry and I am going to do what I want when I want how I want cuz I am from Bill's tree. Got what he deserved. I look forward to Tua and Miami hanging 50 on his D when they get a chance _ see tua firing the ball all over the field saying "F you jobu...I do it myself" and will be awesome
Barry with blinders.
Touchdown Dolphins !!!
Or maybe Flores is just a douche. No OC wanted to come here by the end of it
Yes making us look so trash I’m glad a fins fan whose seen the glory speak on this not these new fans who in love with Tua being a athlete I’ve heard worse it’s supposed to bring the dawg outta you Tua obviously doesn’t have it but they paid him he’s the best option wish him the best
@@siddreddy1416 we are soft lol
Our defense even knows it!
They wanna shake the identity
@@siddreddy1416 nick saban is a hard ass. Give me a break. Belichick was a prick 6 Superbowl rings. You're all apologists
@@roberthobbs6989 they had to pay him because they refused to draft another QB to compete with Tua because his feelings would get hurt. And Ross lost two draft picks because he tried to get a QB Tom Brady to come here and failed. I'm sure Ross has still got it for Flores and hence Tua's rant
Omar, this guy is a joke! Tua is an amazing qb, iur offense is THE BEST in the league, your boy has been but hurt by the Dolphins and is delusional
Yes I think they should start making the nfl players equal also not just coaching very low percentage of white and Spanish men get opportunities to be a player lets give more black coaches opportunities and more white players opportunities..If we are gonna go equal let’s really make it equal !!
It was interesting until Kelly started making it about politics and playing the racial martir card. 😴😴😴
When you continue to be the softest player in the NFL history physically &mentally it shows
harry gets the idiot of the week award 😂
as much as i love watching you guys this title today is a joke. permanent scars? this is laughable use the permanent scars for a soft player not Tua......
Barry is a clown
❤❤🐬🐬🐬🐬
There is a fine line between wanting to have the best facilities for your team, and wanting a coach that is a player coach, and a team that has players that needed Vic Fangio gone because he is old school and hard on them, and are talking about a former coach hurting their feelings... It's not a good look after losing big games at the end of last year to Tennessee, Buffalo and in cold weather when we had no interest in getting on that field in KC... Just saying...
