I'm glad you found it helpful! 🤙🏽 Relaunch techniques are essential, and a good video can be a game-changer. Keep riding safely out there. Good winds! -Aaron.
I love your videos, Blake. They may not be that perfect like other ones, but it feels closer to reality:-) A big hug from an old Windsurfer-guy, starting with kiteboarding in chilling Germany
BM RBCA hey. Sorry I wasn't able to get any footage of a deep water relaunch! The area I am at in Qatar is super shallow everywhere and I haven't had the opportunity to film in deeper water. The concept is the same but it is obviously much harder. When you're in chest deep water try and curl your toes and dig them in the bottom to try and create some resistance against the kite. If you are in overhead water you can use your board as resistance and keep it on your feet to push against the kite. When you pull in on the center lines you have to swim towards the kite to allow it to flip on it's back. Once you get it on its back kick your legs so you're resisting the kite again and work it up into the wind window. Hope that helps, sorry I couldn't be of more assistance with the video.
Relaunching in shallow water is not really a challenge. Most people are foiling in deeper water that requires a rescue without touching bottom. Please show us your light wind, deep water relaunch skills. TY
Hi Blake great video! Could you maybe do 1 on how to do a flat 360 handle pass off a wave as a kicker? Also maybe someone in the team could do a video about sun protection etc? I have fair skin like yours haha! Thanks buddy!
kiterJ that would be a great topic to do one on! There aren't any waves to speak of here in Qatar so I might have to wait on that one til I'm in Vietnam this fall but I will make it when he opportunity presents itself! Sun protection is something I need to work on myself, need to cover up the fair skin! Cheers
Hey Blake geetings from sunny Greece. When my kite tiuches the water with its back its almost certain taht it will fill with water thus relaunch is not possible
You'll have to be quick to prevent the water getting in. We recommend practicing in shallow water first to build the skill. It takes a bit of work but it's worth it if you do a lot of foiling. Worst case you'll have to do a self rescue. -Rygo
Great points, you can still pull the centerline towards you or swim at the kite to flip it onto its back. If the wind is that light, you can also swim horizontally. We'll have to do a better tutorial this year. Thanks for the feedback my friend. - Rygo
@@MACkiteboarding a "different" tutorial, not necessarily a better one because this one is plenty good for shallow water. Shallow water is where you would want to start the learning process anyway and these same principles apply to deep water but with different application of those principles.
Hey Dan, anything lightweight and large enough to provide the power you need. Some popular choices for our crew are Cabrinha Contra, Slingshot Turbine, North Neo, North Juice, Airush Ultra, and HQ4 Matrixx. How light of wind are you talking about? How much do you weigh? What board or foil do you intend on riding?
Nice one buddy! Kitesurf is a gift indeed! Very well said! Cheers. Dan.
Best relaunch video thanks for letting us know

Great tip Blake, thanks! Trying to launch at the side of the window was time consuming and tearing my fingers up!!

Your videos are brilliant Blake. Just starting my Kiting journey and picked up heaps of tips from you. Thankyou.
Thanks for all your Vlogs. You have helped me become a better kiteboarder.
I'm glad they are helping my friend!
Great video, Blake!!
Thanks Blake well explained
Nice video, but usually you are in deep water when the kite falls out of the sky. Can you do a tutorial on deep water light wind launch.

Thank you
You're very welcome, my friend. 🤙🏽 Thank you for sharing the stoke with us. Good winds to you, Jon. -Aaron
Love kiting in Qatar
Easy in shallow waters, but show this in deep waters

Are there some tips on how to ensure that water won't get into canopy? Cause if it does things are even more exhausting.

No help if you are in deep water. How can you run towards the kite or away from it or sideways?

What kite would you recommend for light winds?

I live in qatar. It's good for kitesurfing
Lars Cooreman That's what Blake has been telling me. We're looking forward to seeing Blake's adventures there this fall! -Rygo
Lars Cooreman it's a great place to kite! Hope to see you on the water, where do you typically ride?
