Type 3, rolling the Kite: Dont run or swim after the kite, pull the outer steering line and the two frontlines as well, then let go the frontlines and keep the outer steering line under tension - gives your the same effect like running after the kite
Variant of type 1. I prefer to shorten a frontline by pulling your flag line below the chicken loop in 2-3 feet. Effect is the same, but safer. By reaching above the bar to grab a front line you risk tangling the front line over the bar which can send you on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
Hope this helps with some of the questions we've been getting about light winds. The most common technique is the opposite front line, but I will also use the roll the kite method on the foil in deep water if the wind is really light. The bad news is you have to leave your foilboard to swim at the kite. Once the kite comes up it is easy to get the board back but the first time you do it will make you nervous. Good news is that if you don't have your board with you this method will be easy.
Happen to me yesterday, 1km from the beach, 10m from my board. 8/10knots of wind flying a cabrinha contra 15m. I think I've tried everything I could and the kite didn't want to take off. Then I got a bit nervous but soon realise that it would not help. So after a few more tries I could relaunch. I was so happy that to be honest I don't know how I did that! Then a few minutes to find the board since the kite had pull me far away from the board (towards the coast for safety reasons). Is there any trick or recommendation if you are in deep water without a board to make pressure against the pull?
I could probably make a instructional on that, but it would have to be light hearted as that maneuver is not advisable the way Rockne was doing it....super fun though!
It can work but it is a lot more difficult. You can pull on the leash line and it should pull one of the front lines. With Core kites the slack line technique where you let the kite roll on its back a little works really well. Thanks for the comment!
Oh Crap! good catch. I will most likely not change it however. It will just bother you and I forever. We're trying to upload as many videos as possible and sometimes the typos make it into the final cut.
Everything is easier in shallow water:) seriously though for deep water the one method that works the best is the opposite front line method. Since you're already moving down wind if you pull on the opposite front line a lot of times it will help roll the kite on its back to rotate the wing tip around. Thank for the comment!
Liked the video all the way to "his ladies".... This is the part I hate about this sport. It totally removes the spiritual aspect of being one with the forces of nature(God... Universe) WTF does that have to do with objectifying and sex ey?!

Nice, That is a good technique. Thanks for the feedback.
Great video. Thanks for the help last Friday at the Levee!
Keri, No problem thanks for coming down. We have had some awesome winds lately.
Nice work guys
Awesome job guys...best instructional video I ever saw ;-)
Nice video!
That is a high quality video. Thanks.
Great Video!

Thank you
Wish I'd seen this earlier!
Super helpful. What size kite and what was the approximate wind speed?
really nice guys
Love it!
good vid!
Thanks a lot!
Where can I find video with instructions for launching from beach as is in this video at 4:20 , please?
Check this video out and see if it helps......ua-cam.com/video/JCbIB5ERVtU/v-deo.html

Thankyou
where were you guys in the video where you're showing the Bahama backhoe? Doesn't look like Texas...
Bahama backhoe?
lol bahama backroll
how does method 1 work with a high v kite like the CORE?

Please make a Moses hydrofoil video showing different wings, boards and maybe (GASP!) make a 1/2 mast for it! :)
We are working on this Gary. Just hold tight.
We haven't forgot you Gary....we have all the wings and masts now and are working on the Moses video currently.
Спасибо, пацаны, все по делу!!
Can you guys do a video on how Rockne gets all the chicks?
That would be a good instructional.
Where was this video shot?
Our video was shot here in Texas City at the levee!
Looks great!
at 3:11 you have a typo Demonstrarion

It's a good video. It happens
Maciej Piotrowski did you miss the typo in the start then? KitRboarding 😂
I guess we all missed that too...:)

Такой же банан у меня, ещё два варианта +
I don’t know why.... there is a simple solution for relaunch.....the 5th line! why there are kites without 5th line at 2020???
But with the first method (which is the best one in my view) be careful not the kite sit up then fall on its back in the light wind. JK

Very helpful video man...well explained
Great video!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
if a person has a backline trim then this type 1 method will never work. is this correct?
