Kevin is one of those guys that I'm always surprised that some people don't like.
He's so quick witted and sharp as a tack... "Those are white billionaires." 🤣
His comedy has always made me laugh.

Comedy being subjective, that's not always the top criticism people zero in on. It was the tweets. He apologized but people still saw an ugly side of him.

It's funny you mention that as I was just trying to figure out my own reaction to him. There's no denying he's a huge success with a dedicated following of fans. I have no problem with people who think he's great. I've just never found him very funny at all in his stand up, and never really understood why people like him so much. I do think he's moderately entertaining in the movies I've seen. The thing is though, whenever I've seen him in an interview, or goofing around with Conan, I think he's great. It's strange, because in those settings I really enjoy him and would be happy watching and listening to him for hours. I wish he'd do a stand up special or movie that captures that side of him. But maybe that's just me.

Booze is starting to play a part in US interview shows. Colbert's been flirting with it for some time but Graham Norton in the UK has known for years that giving guests the booze makes everybody more chatty.

As someone who doesn't drink, the ads and the pervasiveness are quite annoying. Do I need a Jack Daniel's ad at 6:30AM? Way harder, I imagine, on people who work much harder than I to avoid alcohol.
Colbert is almost alcoholic, though, and I have noticed that from day one of this show in 2015. He masquerades it as 'funny' acts, but definitely into alcoholism spectrum.
They are copying The Norton Graham show from England, the best of all talk shows!

Corporate culture encourages drinking, worked at GE and we expensed all the drinking not to mention excessive meals lots thrown in trash. Maybe thats why the U$A is so fucked up!
The kids from "where he came from" need to see everyday successful people. A type of success that could be replicated by millions instead of 1-in some ungodly number.
As a black person, I didn't strive to be a success because I watched Oprah everyday (I did, I am not gonna lie). Instead, I had the drive seeing the successful nurses, educators, business owners, and engineers around me. They had a reproducible success model for me - an introverted analytical kid.
Don’t think he means for you to be as successful as him, it’s achieve you’re dream. You have no idea that shit he would have had to go through early in his career, before he became famous, many would have given up, he learnt and changed and adapted, persevered and pushed himself. That was his dream, live you’re dream and get what you really want, picture it, and find a path, make sure it’s you’re path, and you will make it ! God bless to all who dream and fight for it !

Im excited to watch. A lot of comedy stems from the dark and how to make it funny or make you laugh at it but still there are break points where the comedian will get serious after they made their punchline. I love when comedians make that shift into getting into dark creative spaces without having to formulate it to comedy. To see them get into the seriousness roles for me makes them more authentic and this is definitely going to brink Kevin hopefully more fans to appreciate his hard work💛
True Story is really well done. I watched it over the weekend. I was surprised at different parts of the series. A must see.

Beautiful message at the end and I honestly believe he believes every word of it. Too bad there's just not enough money to go around for many to achieve that type of goal. Most are out here fighting for the scraps that GDP level money hoarders haven't sucked up quite yet. There's just not enough total wealth in existence. Especially within the economic systems most of the planet is in. Royalty can't let too many of the others do what Kev has done. Just enough to make it look like we can. Dreams are great. They have to be based in reality for them to have a chance though. The money hoarders have to give a lot more back or stop sucking so much up to have a meaningful impact on poverty. And that's never going to happen. There isn't a hand big enough to force theirs. Hell, even Jesus tried and failed. And for two thousand years the masters of coin have run rampant and unopposed. I have no answer or theory to stop it, I don't think there ever will be one. It's just an observation and a comment that to the majority of dreamers, we gotta keep it grounded. Only a relative few in history have been able to do what Kev has done and still aspires to.
I agree with you to a certain extent. I would have to say that his stance works particularly well for those who may need to hear it and can turn their situations are round and reach their dreams. Cause while not everybody can, it doesn't mean they can't do anything.
@@ayandak47 I agree. I hope I didn't come off as suggesting to just do nothing. Kev is an anomaly. The majority should likely ensure they're making and achieving reasonable goals. If you got something you think is worth what Kev earned, then go out and work to get it.
