@@nkwhph Yup, but I have the computer program too. I think I used the computer program to get it to open my doors and this method to get it to start my car, or vice versa.
Can anyone help? I’m trying this but when I get to the blinking light part, it just keeps blinking and never stops. Do I need a battery in both fobs? Or just the new one or just the old one or doesn’t matter? Can anyone think of why this might be happening?
I have the same problem. I think there are different transponder chips and we have the wrong ones. I did program a different key this way successfully.

Living in remote Mexico area. Got a new key and I was able to program it. It worked but the keyless feature stopped working even on my old fob. How can i fix that? Now i have to insert the key to start it. And i liked the other way better. There is gotta be a way to fix that. Please help me
I read on different videos that this procedure should work on most Toyota and Lexus models. I've tried and retried many, many times on my Toyota Corolla Verso II but it never worked. I've tried with 3 different spare keys but none of them worked. I've replaced the 4D67 transponder chip on one of the spare keys with a blank new chip but that did't help. 😞
Before I follow your instructions, my car already has that red key programming sign f I ashing on the dashboard. How can cancel it? As if I didn't cancel it, nothing happen when I followed your instruction.
In my experience, you do NOT need to cancel that red, flashing light. My 2007 Prius shows that red light flashing but I was able to program a second key fob using these exact instructions.
Pop out the key on your fob and while holding the same slide pin open, slide the back plate up and off of the fob. There's a sticker inside with an fcc id. If you need help, look up a video on fob battery replacement. My code was mozb21tg for a 2005 with black logo on the fob, not chrome.
All I did was replace the key fob housing same guts but none of these programs work it does the flashing fast and then it goes to the regular three second interval where it flashes slower and it does not stop I waited 10 minutes I have followed six different videos exactly none of them worked. Edit so I figured out the problem was a small piece of plastic that's up in the front of the remote it looks like a little rubber nub that is the part the vehicle senses as the key
@@FabianZender when you break it in half put the chip board on the button side then you will be looking at the battery and two brass screw holes just above the battery there is a black almost rectangular piece that piece is the part I left in the old fob and the reason why it would not work
You just saved me $189 from the local locksmith and $98 from the local Toyota dealer who would have only given me the $98 deal IF I bought the new fob FROM them for $318 !!!!

I believe you need a new fob that has never been programmed before.

Is this for a "smart key" (silver Toyota logo on back) or non-smart (black logo)?
I was able to program a second key fob for my 2007 Prius that has the SILVER logo. These instructions were excellent.
It worked on my 2006 Prius with the black logo key fob! Thanks so much!

What if the old key fob is totally dead and does not start the car?
have you replaced the battery in the key fob? You can do it yourself or take it to a battery store.
