Tbf Ananya has carved her niche as pretty-face trophy girlfriend in Tiger Shroff-type movies. Where the heroines are basically furniture to romance the hero and get kidnapped/harassed by the villain. Janhvi, I don't even remember what she has done after Gunjan Saxena, but she is still better than Sara at least.

Not just nepotism but also because Bollywood spends a crazy amount of the film budget on just covering actor fees therefore they have very less money to make the entire movie and also pay people. All thanks to tha insane fee actors charge Bollywood even Telugu cinemas are so over the top and sub standard. In the 60s actors were paid as per their work quality and popularity, but still making sure that there is some pay parity. The worst part is after all the money actors still do a shitty job acting, it's the one job they have, if someone is devoting all their effort into just one field, being streamlined how can you be so bad at it??? Its so crazy, we common people have to learn and constantly learn all kinds of things and keep updating ourselves to various disciplines, and yet we do a much better job at day to day things. I only watch Bollywood movies out of nostalgia because I miss not being in India, but it's getting more and more painful to watch it by the day.

Have been watching Malayalam movies for last 6 odd months... I don't understand the language and depend on the subtitles... Just stunned to see the level of creativity and screenplay..how is it possible that each and every character is such a good actor!!!
Since you loved Manjummel Boys, do consider watching Guna on prime video which the Malayalam film pays an homage to. Also Guna caves got their name after that film’s cult status. The subtitling is a bit off but quite manageable.

@@mritunjaysharma7753The distribution and pan-india popularity is not as huge as other south indian masala movie industries. Hence, not all movies are hindi dubbed. I guess if there is enough demand from North, then more hindi dubbed releases will be possible. But I also feel dubbing in Hindi will dilute some of the brilliance of the movies and ajeeb lagega. I would suggest watching with English subtitles only

Bollywood is a great example of good scripts being wasted on undeserving star kids. I was excited watching the trailer of this show, but when Sara appeared all my expectations came crashing down. I would have loved to watch this show with a much talented actress. The song ‘Mera Rang De Basanti Chola’ sung by Sonu Nigam from the Ajay Devgan film ‘The legend of Bhagat Singh’ still evokes such strong emotions of patriotism that I feel I wish I was a part of Indian freedom struggle and would have happily sacrificed myself for the freedom of this country. But Karan Johar se kya hi expectations hogi, he is busy promoting or rather forcing star kids on us. I am glad you’re exploring Malayalam cinema, I actually believe that Marathi,Bengali and Malayalam industry make some very interesting and intelligent cinema. These regional movie industries need more financial support which they don’t get sometimes while Bollywood wastes Rs. 600 crores on movies like Adipurush, in a way it’s also a good thing because then the focus is on telling a good and compelling story in a limited budget. Bollywood mostly has become more like a marketing agency where the whole focus is on packaging and promoting but not on the quality of the product, while regional cinema is still focused on art of telling a good story. I am glad we have options to explore.

I started watching South Indian movies a couple of years back and even though every regional industry churns out occasional gems, I found Malayalam films as fantastic! The way they cast talented actors who suit the roles and not 'stars, the brilliant depiction and keeping everything 'real'. Hats off!

Since you loved Manjummel Boys, do consider watching Guna on prime video which the Malayalam film pays an homage to. Also Guna caves got their name after that film’s cult status. The subtitling is a bit off but quite manageable.

I guess if there is enough demand from North, then more hindi dubbed releases will be possible. But I also feel dubbing in Hindi will dilute some of the brilliance of the movies and ajeeb lagega. I would suggest watching with English subtitles only
“Every other industry will go out of business”,this is a very over confident portrayal of your bias towards malayalam movies. Malayalam movies might be good but doesn’t mean every other industry is shit. Stop being so possessive about your culture(assuming youre definitely mallu)
Bollywood is a great example of good scripts being wasted on undeserving star kids. I was excited watching the trailer of this show, but when Sara appeared all my expectations came crashing down. I would have loved to watch this show with a much talented actress. The song ‘Mera Rang De Basanti Chola’ sung by Sonu Nigam from the Ajay Devgan film ‘The legend of Bhagat Singh’ still evokes such strong emotions of patriotism that I feel I wish I was a part of Indian freedom struggle and would have happily sacrificed myself for the freedom of this country. But Karan Johar se kya hi expectations hogi, he is busy promoting or rather forcing star kids on us.
I am glad you’re exploring Malayalam cinema, I actually believe that Marathi,Bengali and Malayalam industry make some very interesting and intelligent cinema. These regional movie industries need more financial support which they don’t get sometimes while Bollywood wastes Rs. 600 crores on movies like Adipurush, in a way it’s also a good thing because then the focus is on telling a good and compelling story in a limited budget. Bollywood mostly has become more like a marketing agency where the whole focus is on packaging and promoting but not on the quality of the product, while regional cinema is still focused on art of telling a good story. I am glad we have options to explore.

Some actors simply don’t have the face for patriotic films. Imagine Tiger shroff playing Subhash chandra bose or Sooraj pancholi playing Mahatma Gandhi 🤷♀️ Commercial film actors should stick to their genre.

6:52 Guna caves gets it name from the Tamil kamal Hassan movie, which was shot there. That place is kind of dangerous and also some people go to commit suicide there. That’s why that main part is fenced. BTW. Watch the movie Guna , it’s love tragedy movie and big flop at that time, but good one. It has one of the most memorable love song that youngster today, almost after 30yrs sing to propose. Song is “ Kanmanani “

Watch a legendary movie called as "Kaalapani" Made by Priyadarshan sir in mid 90's starring Mohanlal, Amrish puri, Tabu, Prabhu Ganeshan, Annu Kapoor, Sreenivasan, Cochin Haneefa, Tinu Anand etc. I'm very sure if this was made in todays time if same actors existed in the same age it would have become something else getting widespread accolade.

Also I would like to add two more movies considering the fact that been following your reviews for a while and know what elements exactly you are looking in a movie. Both are Prithviraj''s movie. First is Ayyapanum Koshiyum. Please dont see the Telugu remake before this , else you will end up losing excitement. It's about male ego clash between two protagonists somewhere similar to Taxi no 9211 but in extreme way. Second movie is Jana Gana Mana. Trust me the second half of this movie is something you can't predict.
If she wasn’t Saif Ali khan or Amrita Singh daughter Sara would be lucky to be in tv serials. And her filmfare performance this year was terrible 😅
