The version of Partners here is actually an arrangement that goes unused in the game, though the one that does get used is factually worse given that it doesn’t have the tapdancing at the start. Bit disappointed that Pursuit - The Great Turnabout isn’t here though, but this is one of the best selections of themes for these two games so I can’t be too mad.
Tobias Gregson is actually a really nice guy, even though he gets worked up easily. Van Zieks really does make you feel like the biggest idiot known to man as he dismantles your theory. "His Glorious Return" is about two long lost friends reuniting, so there is that sense of finality. Good guess with the hapsichord, it does symbolize van Zieks.
I’ll be honest, it’s a little funny to hear Emily talking during “Prosecutor, Reborn” about how the harpsichord might be calling back to the “Barok” theme she heard a little bit ago, at the exact moment the same medley she heard from two other songs plays behind her! 🤣 Ahhh, never change IlexEmily! 😙
I mostly know the _Ace Attorney_ series by reputation, particularly through the comics from Awkward Zombie poking fun at its absurdity -- but if nothing else, Capcom can be counted on for its music!
If anything, you should watch a bit of somebody playing the game. Its THAT good of a series. Could I recommend Crystaahl's playthrough of the OG trilogy? She is a new ace attorney fan and very passionate about the games she plays. Who knows? Maybe it drives you to experience this amazing franchise or even play it one day~
@Nitrinoxus if you feel like a comprehensive playthrough, pixel partners is The ace attorney channel. they've played through every game in the series, even the awesome fan translation of the one spinoff game that's only getting an official localisation release this september
These two games are a test of how to make a prequel spin-off of a franchise and evolve even a little bit of its gameplay and do it well. I would put The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles in a top of the best prequel games. Also the music here is wonderful, it captures very well the essence of London and Japan of the nineteenth century.
Ive been hoping this would happen, really love this OST and your reactions! These games, alike their OSTs, are really, really good. I'd recommend them to anybody who likes visual novels or murder mystery stories!
Honestly a little disappointed that nearly all the themes were focused on one character, there are so many other great themes that went unexplored. ...all that means is we'll need a part 2 for these games soon! :D
You should make another one of The Great Ace Attorney. Most of the best tracks were unused here and it would be incredible to see you react to them, since I saw you really liked the style this game has :)
For people who haven't played or finished the game(s) yet and do think music spoilers exist, skip the second half of the video^^' Also huge Spoileralarm for the rest of the comment: Maybe I'm just Laytonpilled but the accordeon always sounded London~ish to me. And in this case that's absolutely true, because if you didn't know "Tobias Gregson" is the one-sided rival of "Sherlock Holmes" who is living in 221b Baker Street in London. Although for Copyright reasons it's actually "Herlock Sholmes" in the localized version. Unlike every other AA game The Great Ace Attorney actually plays in the past. I'm talking 1900. Victorian England and Meiji Japan. There are character themes and you actually heard the same theme in 3 different songs. Kazuma's theme was in both the Return and the Reborn theme for reasons I'm too lazy to elaborate. You could also hear parts of Sholmes theme in The Game is Afoot (you haven't heard Sholmes theme. I just wanted to point out the re-use of character themes). This is definetly not how the court would go musicly. This is a lot more adventurous, but that actually fits these games specificly quite well, because it really is 1 big adventure :D
Glad I'm not the only one who will always think of Professor Layton when hearing and accordion. I still love that series even though it's pretty much dead at this point.
@@Nitram4392 We just gotta show Level-5 in 2025 all the support we got for the New World of Steam^-^ I truely believe that it's possible for Layton to be a living cultural niche once again, kinda like AceAttorney :D
Can you listen to the soundtrack for Ratchet & Clank (2002)? Its like a combination of sci fi and orchestral mixed in with beats from the 90's. The soundtrack is so underrated and I've honestly never heard anything like it before. Definitely worth a listen and it kicks ass. If you'd like I can give a list of the most popular tracks to listen to.
I hope you do touhou music in the future. The entirety of the series help caused the creation of undertale and all of its music. As a plus the creator of the series is very lax with the copyright for his characters and music which allows for anyone to create derivative works of touhou from song remixes to selling your own games. For some song suggestions they are Gensokyo the Gods Loved, Broken Moon, Maiden's Capprico, Love Colored Master Spark, Flowering Night, Hartman's Youkai Girl, Idolatrize World Voyage 1969 Kobito of the Shining Needle Border of Life Wind God Girl The Sea Where One's Home Planet Reflects and U.N. The percussion in Partners is actually tap dancing! I was so surprised when I heard for the first time
Me too, and its so fitting

Great Ace Attorney. The Twist Simulator
She definitely needs to do another episode of great ace attorney she only got barely even a taste of the soundtrack it’s soo good
Hot take: this/these game(s) are the best Ace Attorney game(s). (It’s a duology, but it’s one continuous story)
I don't think that's a very hot take
@@legendaccount3247 there are those who prefer AAI 1 + 2 to TGAA 1 + 2
@krisisgod666 the correct opinion
The temperature in the room decreased 4 degrees with that take

I mean, its still an interesting observation considering what happens in the game. It makes sense to add a harpischord to his theme.
I wouldn't be too surprised that the harps are in there cuz of him being tied to Barok
19:37-20:10 DUUUUDDEEEE I CAN’T STOP LISTENING TO THAT PART, IT’S SOOOOOOO LOVELY AAAAAAA
😂 your take on Barok Von Zieks theme is fairly spot on. "Oh I'm so screwed" when it kicks on..
Herlock Sholmes approves your deductions 😂

Eh, no, Barok van Zieks is not likely to burst in in the middle of a case, given that he's the prosecutor.
He does turn your case entirely on its head though.
Gotta give props for figuring out the intended feeling of the theme though

Confess the Truth is kinda wrong. Most AA games outside of AAI goes for Announce the Truth. Because this theme is when YOU explain what happened.
