What Happens After Submitting Your FAFSA® Form?

- If you’re submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, make sure you know what to expect next.
After you’ve completed your FAFSA form, the U.S. Department of Education’s office of Federal Student Aid will begin processing your form. You’ll receive a confirmation email with important information, so make sure you review it carefully.
Keep an eye out for any additional communications, including your FAFSA Submission Summary, which you’ll receive after your form is processed.
The 2024-25 FAFSA form is available for students attending college between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. When you submit your completed FAFSA form, you’ll get an email confirming that we received your form with preliminary information related to your eligibility for federal student aid. We’ll provide your FAFSA eligibility information to your school(s) and state in the first half of March. More information: StudentAid.gov/announcements-...

Put a finger down if you go through the entire form then get to the part that asks if you have any circumstance that prevents you from contacting your parents, you say no, then it says you are independent THEN you click continue and instead of allowing you to sign the form it takes you back to demographics over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Put another finger down if you try to complete the form on different browsers for the past 2 weeks and the same thing happens. Put another finger down if you try to contact their phone number which sends you to an automated voice that basically says "high call volume goodbye!" and hangs up. Put another finger down if you try to do a live chat and it never actually connects you to anyone for help. Put another finger down if you email FAFSA and they never respond. Put another finger down if you try to find help online from strangers on reddit but nobody has an actual working solution and time is running out. Put another finger down if your application is just a draft because it refuses to ever let you sign and theres NO SUBMIT BUTTON. :) Thank you FAFSA, and application developers, you guys are so big-brained I just knowwwwwwwww Harvard is calling

We didn’t receive any confirmation number after we submit our form but showed submitted on our login.
There is no signature form, what is next? Also, one of my parents is showing SSA not verified even though there is no issue with SSA, they went to the SSA office and there is no way to "verify" a SSN. Please put the right info on the form page because it is confusing!

hey having the same problem id you get it figured out
take a few weeks or you can go back in and create the account and add the signature instead of waiting, you can do that usually a few days after you submit it

@@Abraham75872 if there isn't a signature it will take longer to process, you can log back in and add your signature, it's been long enough that it should work by now

why can't my father approve the fafsa. it is processed but with errors it says to approve but is not letting him do, it is not clicking on approve. what to do shall wait till the corrections \?
Me and my parent submitted our both fafsa forms and signed it, but a month later it asked to sign it again so we did but we still can’t submit our both forms. after we sign it still says that action is required and it needs a signature. I tried multiple times but it didn’t change. I asked my college/career counsellor and she doesn’t know how to fix it. we even called a person in college who’s responsible for financial aid and they don’t know how to fix it either. should I and my parent start a new form ? if not what do we have to do?
I submitted my fafsa form about two weeks ago, and it says it was processed. But I keep receiving reminder emails telling me I have not yet submitted it? Is this concerning or is it just a general reminder? I also never got an official confirmation email, but when I log in it says everything was sent, is this also something I should worry about? This is my first time with fafsa and I’m very confused. Can anyone help?
Honestly, this wasn’t working for me for 3 to 2 years like this in my junior and senior year like this around 20 21,22 and I still haven’t received nothing right after this point even my parents were Bangladesh immigrants, Italy, even my sister as well applied for FAFSA and then get didn’t anything 😢🇮🇹🇧🇩

I have a question about the Fafsa. I put my mom as my contributor and Also the one filling the parent part. I also put my dad for contributer. I invite both of them. They are married together and also do taxes jointly. Does my dad needs to do a fafsa ID and fill out the fafsa too?
no he doesn't only one parent is needed, since they are married and file taxes together the information for both parents will be in there and you only need one parent signature, I am an FA counselor for 10+ years

@@eddyatumonyogo1270 there should have been a section on her FAFSA asking for the contributors email, you should get an email asking you to enter your information

just go back in and it either click make a correction or click add signature there should be one of those options available

something is wrong, go back and see if all the information you entered on the form matches what is on both of your FSAID's, check names birth dates and ssn's they all have to match exactly

both my daughter and myself submitted the form, however it said my signature is required but no idea where i can submit my signature.
Did this for my daughter yesterday, you have to hit continue and click the checkbox with your name. That's your signature.

Bro it's been 2 months since I submitted my FAFSA form and it's still not processed. Is it the same for everyone or only me?
I submitted in Jan and it was just processed last week. Didn't get a notification email when it was processed. I logged in to FAFSA and found out.

What does -1500 on the SAI means??
It means students qualified for the Pell grant.
the form did now allow me to provide my signature, when can i make corrections?

@@jaclyncortes4593 you have to wait till your FAFSA is processed which I "submitted" mine of January 3rd. Still haven't been processed. Which takes around 3-5 days.
@@Carmeno05Thank you! thats what it seemed like to me. mine got submitted the 2nd but i wasnt sure how long they took to process and havent been able to get ahold of any help centers
