    Love the video what we really need is a video on activations for example hit tactical team before hitting attack pattern Bata. Hit kemocite laced weapons before hitting fire at will. Hit emergency power to weapons before hitting aux to battery. These are game mechanics that no one ever touches. All your videos are great but unless people know and understand why things work in a order then all this info is for nothing.

    For those wondering about Kemocite-Laced Weaponry and whether or not to pull the trigger on buying it (pretty hefty purchase within the 15mil EC limit), from a DPS standpoint the difference is very dramatic.
    Especially if you're running a beam boat, I'd highly recommend it. Keep in mind, this is one of those abilities that are way more expensive for the tier I rather than the III. This is simply for the flexibility offered by slotting it into a lower end (as well as everything covered in the video). Also, for you newer players, remember to slot this into a Bridge Officer you plan to keep forever. The Fleet Romulan from the Embassy (someone correct me if I'm wrong), is a great candidate if he/she has Superior Operative. Nausicans are also pretty great on the KDF side due to the Pirate trait.
    Great video as always man. Thanks for taking the time to do this. The amount of useful and in depth information is highly lacking nowadays and the learning curve is pretty steep for new players.

      Thanks for the added insight on Kemocite-Laced Weaponry!
      As for added clarification on the Romulan BO from the Fleet Embassy, the only one available there with Superior Romulan Operative trait is the rare version of the Romulan Male Tactical officers (it's really weird, but that's the way it is...). All the other ones there are normal or basic romulan operatives. If you happen to be a Romulan-faction captain though, you can get SRO's for your entire bridge crew for space combat off of the exchange for rather cheap by just looking at the traits of the bridge officers of the romulans there.

      Males only. I remember now. Thanks for clearing that up. KDF needs Superior Pirate in their lives.

    Learning abilities is one of the Problems with STO. Stats on weapons are shown differently when in space/on Ground in sector space. Descriptions are very poor and when in battle, there's 20 or so Icons on your enemy and on yourself as well - with numbers Jumping all the time. Finding the Icon you look (ie polaron drain) and see how much Energy you drained can be impossible in battle. And numbers may not Show the real Thing and descriptions not reflecting reality. Big mess - glad you do this series now. I am sure that I (20+ characters and Veteran of many years) find out many misconceptions I have

    Distributed Targeting will trigger the 3 Piece Mycelial Lightning electrical damage from the Stamets-Tilly Field Modifications set (Discovery Legends rep). While it is kind of situational, it does wonders for clearing out someone else's hangar pets.

    Love to know more about PvP usage of these abilities. Thank you for putting in the time to do these videos.

    Another really well done & explained video. You do a good job of offering the, subjective & objective, pros & cons, & the facts & knowledge then letting us decide out of the possibilities we might want to choose. Absolutely, BO abilities are definitely numerous & can be convoluted. So far from your videos, even if I disagree somewhat or have no interest at the beginning of a subject in, I learn something & that to me is valuable. Looking forward to the next one.

    This should be updated to account for the new traits that impact BO and CSV. Plus the change to how BO now works is a huge change. At the very least, a comment should be pinned to explain the new changes/updates.

    Thanks Mr. YOLO even if I have used sto wiki as a guide point, I have realized it's not completely accurate; therefore, I am glad your providing information in a more accurate & updated manner.

    great video , thank you for taking time to do this ! , yeah about the wiki sometimes it's outdated but mostly because Cryptic 'Stealth change things' many Traits /abilities got modified but wasn't mentioned in patch notes ! most recent change is the Delta reputation space trait tier4 'enhanced rending shots' : it used to have a 15sec cooldown with no lockdown on stacks and counts all weapons together ( very very bad) ! now it got changed into 2sec cooldown and locks on the number of stacks for 2sec than re stack again ! so if you manage to get 10 stacks that's 15% critical chance for 2sec ( lockdown time for the cooldown than restack) and it uses each weapon separately meaning that if 1 weapon gets a crit and lockdown on ish stacks that it got 2/10 or 5/10 ! it won't lock the other weapons ! the weapons if they don't get a crit they will keep on getting more stacks for them-self ! after doing tests the traits increases my total crit numbers to about 5% to 8% on a full run duration and that's with 30% critical chance ! so if you have lower chances from the build ! the trait will offer you even more critical chance ! it is now a must have on all my alts with budget builds without good crit chance

      I have no idea why they stealth buff/nerf so much. You used to see it in other companies like GGG (Path of Exile) and DE (Warframe). As for lockouts, my biggest offender is probably Rock and Roll from the Pilot specialization. Being locked out of that "oh shit" button due to other passive traits going off constantly has gotten me killed multiple times. Due to this, I find myself almost always running Strategist as the secondary even on squishy ships.

    Nice Video!
    I fully agree with that the early levels in STO are much more fun and strategic whereas later it's just a undefinable amount of flashy stuff on that clutters the screen. It's a pity.

    As of the crafting and skills reworks, none of the rank 3 space abilities are exclusive to boffs.
    The target subsystem 3 manuals can be crafted immediately by tactical captains.
    Putting 2, 7, 12, and 17 points in engineering allows them to craft manuals for Dispersal Pattern Beta 3, Attack Pattern Omega 3, Beta 3, and Delta 3, respectively.
    Putting the same number of points in science allows them to craft manuals for Tac Team 3, Dispersal Pattern Alpha 3, Beam FAW 3, and Overload 3, respectively.
    Putting the same number of points in tactical allows them to craft manuals for Canon Rapid Fire 3, Torp. High Yield 3, Canon Scatter Volley 3, and Torp. Spread 3, respectively.

    I prefer this separation between the careers for the vids. One vid going over everything I think would be to long.

    Good day. I am pretty new to the game and cannot wrap my head around something. I am a full Commander and promoted one of my officers to Lt-Com. I'm trying to train this officer to use Torpedoes: Spread III but the manual is not available in the store. Why is this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    • @CounterYoloGaming
      @CounterYoloGaming  2 роки тому +1

      There are many abilities in STO that are either crafted abilities, or are ones exclusive to lootboxes. Torpedo Spread 3 is a crafted ability, so it's not in the normal bridge officer trainer. Look on the player exchange for it, and you should find it.

    ??? When its using fire at will, does it divide power .

    • @josht9518
      @josht9518 5 років тому

      It only adds to the power. A standard beam attack is a volley of 4 shots at a single target. FaW not only increases that to 5, but sends 5 *more* at a second target (10 total). This applies to all of your beam arrays with just one activation, not just one of them. Keep in mind, it only adds 1 extra shot per array if you only have a single target in your arc. This is because with only one enemy, your beams simply volley 5 shots instead of 4.

    How do you have boff with rapid fire 3

    • @CounterYoloGaming
      @CounterYoloGaming  5 років тому

      Any tactical officer with just a few points in the tactical space skilltree can make training manuals for Cannon: Rapid Fire 3 (which should basically be from any tactical officer in-game). You can also find them being sold on the exchange. It is a Commander Tactical ability, so you need a starship with a Commander Tactical bridge officer seat to use it.

    You always refer to a operation called tanking..please define. I have a idea what you mean by tanking.

    • @jimsolo5739
      @jimsolo5739 5 років тому +1

      Will Adams Tanking is a word to describe a player that literally acts as a tank. They are tough and can keep power levels up. Engineers and tactical characters would make the best tanks.

      It's a fair criticism. If you ever watched my old Survivability Guide from May 2018 it was all in-game commentary. I tried out some PowerPoint stuff as an experiment and received both more positive reception and more views for it, so that is what I have stuck with for a while. The gathering of in-game footage, combined with the extra time it would take to actually edit a video would at least quadruple the time required to put out one of these videos (which already adds up to 10+ hours/video on average on this channel -- and I just do it for fun). None of my videos on the channel (as of this comment) have been edited at all. It is just a straight record from either in-game or from a PowerPoint in one take. I'm currently working on a more engaging way to present my STO Lore content -- but will probably be closer to the PowerPoint stuff than the full in-game commentary of my earliest videos.
