Best Iris tutorial on sequencing I've seen so far. The Neewer C28 wireless mic works great for me. ~ C $150. This made my Saturday, thanks.

Nice video man, i have been watching this thing on the ab forum but just can’t make up my mind on it! Dope way to use it with koala to get some different sequencing than the inbuilt koala one. I just finally started learning loopy pro and my brain already hurts LOL but this thing is probably going to be my next sequencer purchase

Glad you liked it! Lol. Loopy Pro can get really complicated for sure because there are a million options.

@@bjamminsincebirth3494 so many options haha. I’m stuck on some midi issues atm but hopefully can figure that out. Then imma make an attempt at creating some templates. Prism looks complex too… but what you did looked like a quick approach and way to use it.

Just an FYI if you haven't realized by now, at 5:27 when you discuss adding swing to your Skaka track it's not going to work in the way that you think because of 2 things:
    1. Skaka has its own built-in sequencer which takes charge of creating (or not) a swinging feel for the articulation of its percussion phrase. In this case we can clearly hear that the Skaka sequencer does have some swing already going on, but as you can see when you modified the swing parameter value in Prism it did nothing.
    2. Your 2 Skaka MIDI notes in Prism are on odd steps and so they don't get affected by Prism's swing parameter either, which in this case played in your favour because if you would have placed your MIDI notes on even steps, considering that you had configured some swing in Prism directly, it MIGHT have caused the entire Skaka percussion phrase to sound completely wonky.
Anyhow, IMO Prism is clearly evolving in key aspects, such as the recent inclusion of CC parameter controls per step in particular and that's encouraging. Considering the trig conditions and the probability based trigs functionality, Prism is on its way to become a very serious product that doesn't really seem to have any competition on iOS for now aside from Drambo. Regardless of this unfortunately, I find the whole UI to be unnecessarily cryptic and as interested as I am in the product due to its very powerful functionality, this functionality seems to come at the cost of a rather clunky user experience in terms of navigating the UI from what I can see, and so sadly I'd rather keep the tool out of my workflow completely for now. In full honesty if I didn't own a Digitakt and a Digitone I would have bought Prism by now, but the way I see it, this sequencer is going to need probably at least a full year of development just to iron out what are in my opinion major UI design issues. Because there are absolutely no guarantees of major improvements on that front and because Prism is the work of a single person (which raises burnout concerns long term), while I really wish things were different, for me Prism is still a skip for now.
