I use a mouse and a trackpad together over two screens and have found Stage Manager difficult. Mission Control has been there lurking in the background but I now see how useful it could be for me. Many thanks for the video.
I’m trying to find out how to arrange the windows that are in my Mission Control. They seem to be scattered haphazardly all over the screen and I would like to put them in a particular order and keep them there. As well as how to figure out why they keep reordering themselves. Do you have a video that covers that?
Thank you for the tips. Is there a way to make the windows not move if I have like 3-4 of them on one desktop? I mean that every time I swipe up the few windows I have are in a different place than the last time I swiped up. Even if I switch between 2 all the time, windows are always organized differently, which makes my "eye memory" useless in productivity aspect...
@@haihao2942 well thanks that was helpful. as far as im concerned there are none. only to keep desktops not moving. not the 3 fingers swipe up windows.
I too would love to know how to keep the windows where I left them! It's driving me insane and killing my productivity with work. There has got to be an easier way than the previous response. For F#@%$ Sake!!!
Thank you for this tutorial. Do I need to set up more than one desktop to directly access files on my desktop to drop them in my Zoom meeting? I think I need to have at least 2 desktops, one empty without several pages to copy the file and then paste it directly into Zoom chat.
This is helpful, thank you. I used to be able to do this with Adobe applications, ie Photoshop InDesign. These applications don’t seem to be moved to a set desktop. I’m using OS Monterey & most updated Adobe CC.
hello, thank you so much, you are helping younger audience too Does it works for "app" and sticky notes as well? or even folder? I hope its clear but if I have folders and utilities app on my main screen, and I make a new one using mission control and get rid of them, if I go back to the first window will they reappear?
They actually wrecked how great a feature this was for MAC. I used to be able to assign a key or even the mouse wheel click to activate Mission Control. Making work flow extremely fast. Now I have to navigate the mouse all the way over to the Dock and click the icon. garbage. Might as well not even have it anymore.
Hi there! I can still do that with my mouse but only for Google Chrome by pressing down on the wheel (Logitech mouse).... trying to figure out how to use mission control while using safari but I have to use F3 to make that happen now. I'm not sure if hot corners is still a thing but I used to use that on an iMac a long time ago but so long as you don't do a lot of work in a particular corner you can reassign moving your cursor to the far corner to activate it that way, so you don't even have to click on anything. It was even faster when I used to use it but figured there's got to be a better way. Hope you have a good night!
Not sure anyone will see this a year later: my work is switching to Mac. On windows, if I want to switch between open apps, I just use alt+tab. It’s super quick. This seems like a clunkier way to do that. Maybe I’m not entirely understanding the point of multiple desktops? This will be an adjustment for me, but I already use an iPhone so I think the integration will be nice once I learn how to operate the laptop
It's a huge plus to have multiple desktops once you get used to it. I have applications running on every desktop and switching between them is super easy. it really helps with multitasking.
You've probably figured this out, but holding Cmd + Tab & using left or right stole keys lets you cycle through apps on Mac too. If you do want to use these Mission Control spaces, just cycle through them with Ctrl + left/right arrow 🙂
You forgot to mention the keyboard hotkey to open Mission Control without a mouse or trackpad, and keyboard hotkeys to switch to the exact desktop without swiping all of them one by another.
Very simple explanation. Very helpful! Thank you.
Great explanation!!! Thank you!
Easy to view format, hilarious.
Thank you, very helpful!

Of course Mark! I’m happy I could show you, I love Mission Control. It’s been such an incredible tool to have.
Super cool! Thanks.

Thank You. Cant see if we can rename a window- is that an option?

It’s a great feature!!
Really helpful :) now its a breaze :)
I love to hear that I’m so happy I could help you!
When I use Mission Control the windows are shown extremly small. How can I change their size?
I don’t think there is a way to change the size, I think showing it small is the point so that you can see what windows and applications are open.

can Mission Control been turned off? its absolute hell....

You’re right!
What are the keyboard short cuts for it, can you list them here?
Great, but how do you turn off multiple desktops entirely? I can't stand them. Sorry.
