- Hitting the entrance to the pit road wall is one of the scariest things in motorsports. We’ve seen it a lot in other categories like Indycar, but In NASCAR it is a rarity. We’ve seen close calls of drivers who narrowly missed the pit road entrance. Its safe to say that going full speed straight into the pit road wall could produce some of the scariest moments. So I’ve put together 10 of NASCAR’s Scariest Pit wall entry crashes in NASCAR.

God bless Dr. Jerry Punch for the penultimate clip ! 🙏
Dr Punch is a hero.
Dr Jerry Punch is a true hero & really nice guy.
Wish Fox or NBC would hire him. He was one of the things I liked about ESPN return.
Others that were missing was Michael Waltrip's pit road water barrel crash from 1995 at Rockingham. And Brian Vickers at Michigan in 2005.
A video on times Dr. Jerry Punch helped at races would be a great idea.
The last fatal crash in NASCAR was with Carlos Pardos (Mexican series) in 2009. One of these incidents after the finish, with no time to slow down at all before t-boning a wall and "evaporating" the car.
Pardos died after that hit
That in my opinion is in the top 20 most disturbing crashes
U forget about Mark Martin 2012 Michigan crash into the pits
He didn't hit any sand barrels. Where he hit was the Garage wall.
@@shelbysolko7783 still counts as something
@@awesomeseth01Not for this video
Are you NFJJ? I don't remember this channel but I've watched previous videos on this channel
Yes, he is NFJJ
@@_Yuu.gen_ ahh, thank you
Great compilation! Thanks for the upload...Killer editing!
I was at the first one where Jim Bryant flew into the pit entry, it was Lancaster Speedway now known as Lancaster Motorplex, possibly the craziest thing ive ever seen.
I came to the comments hoping someone verified that it was Lancaster. Appreciate ya! I’ve seen some wild stuff there, but I didn’t see that one.
It Definitely is Lancaster Speedway!
Yeah, I love being there, it's always fun for the whole family.
How was Matt Kenseth wrecking at Dover pits in 05 not on this?
Time for a part two!
Correction it was 2004 here’s a video. ua-cam.com/video/sgUM4aTogvQ/v-deo.html
I was there
Denny Hamlin Watkins Glen is missing as well
I know it wasn't a pit road entry crash but Mark Martin's wreck on pit road where the wall pierced through just behind him driver's side always scares tf out of me
Nice video. I think Robby Gordon’s pit wall crash in Spring Richmond 2002 race was quite a big one though.
Some hard crashes !
Definitely do pit wall crashes. Like hitting the wall where the crews are at, i know we got a few of those
At my local dirt track, a driver hit the track exit square in the front of his car. He had to be cut out of his car. He broke 3 rips, punctured his lung, and had a concussion. Lucky he survived and was back racing the next year.
I was at that Dover race in 2017. Jeffery's crash was quite literally the only highlight of the race outside of the finish. Was such an awful race
I dont care for tracks with that type of wall or large gaps in the wall, etc...very very dangerous. We drag race & wont run at tracks anymore where the clocks are on i-beams next to wall. Seen folks get hurt & witnessed a horrible death
Obviously Ross Chastain is to blame for something here...
That first car was insane
Mark Martin was dang lucky the day he lost control entering pit road and the side of his car impacted one of the open sections. Had he hit a smidge further up, driver's door, he may not have made it.
i think there is 2 more worthy explamples:
first one is the 2013/2014 denny hamlins wreck at the glen
the second one is that one flip and watkins glen too in like 1995
As others have said, Victor Sifton at WG and Matt Kenseth at Dover
0:01 that has to be the funniest wreck I’ve ever seen
Sheldon Creed. You really wonder about him sometimes....
Dunno if it's been suggested, but maybe a compilation of tire barrier crashes. Keselowski almost flipping over at the Brickyard and Kenseth at Dover 2004 come readily to mind.
If you do a part 2, I’d add the Busch Series flip at the Glen. I don’t remember who it was, but it was in the 90s I believe and a guy got hooked into the pit entry and rolled his car off of the giant tires
It was Victor Sifton during the Busch north race at the Glen, 1995
I was gonna say that
2018 new hampshire xfinity race jeremy clements hit the barrels. That was my 1st ever nascar race too!
Not the pit wall entry per se, but Mark Martin's crash at Michigan into the opening is one of the scariest crashes I have ever seen
it's crazy how at 5:58 the camera quality looks like something filmed in 2023
1989 Indy 500 Kevin Cogan used the pit wall to tear his car in half and somehow managed to walk away.
5:14 Watkins Glen was a killer track in the late 2000s.
Strangest "start your engines" announcers?
I have a suggestion for a video, make one on racing skills. Drivers have all types of skills from avoiding wrecks to finishing first on that last lap. Everyone can easily find videos of wrecks and mayhem.
Today, Josh Williams narrowly clipped the barrels @ North Wilkesboro.
This week race had one
But they don't like Carlos pardo's accident, however he died in 2009.
Danica Patrick would have shown those neophytes how to take out a wall.
Victor Sifton had a hard crash and flipped after hitting the pit wall at Watkins Glen back in 1995.
4:28 thats why u never say *pretty quiet tonight huh guys* on the radio
I seem to remember Kenseth hitting the pit entrance hard somewhere but maybe I'm thinking of something different..
David Stremme spun off turn four at Michigan and hit the barrels head on. I think it was 2009. I was there.
Worst wreck EVER !!! Michael Waltrip~ Bristol 1990. He hit the opening of the exit wall head on. His car was literally 2 feet tall, and broken in half.
I don't wanna be that guy but except for the last 2, these are the lightest crashes I have seen in NASCAR.........
Kyle Larson Hitting The Barrels At The Glen In 2016??
I thought for sure I was gonna see this one, but it never came. Victor Sifton rolls his car after a brutal impact with the pit wall safety barriers during a NASCAR Busch North Series race in 1995.

Does anyone else worry someone may hit the pit road entry in the Indy 500 with how low they go to get clean air
Kevin Cogan tore his car in half in the 1989 Indy 500 hitting the pit wall. The fact he was able to not only get himself out of the cockpit but walk away was a miracle.
@@indyxpbullion2422 yes & that was a horrific crash, but he had hit the inside wall prior to hitting the pit wall. Im talking about if someone hit it full speed
Who is Bob Blaney?
Tyler reddick💀💀💀💀
i thought carlos pardo's fatal wreck would be on here
That wasnt the pit wall
That's a little clickbaity. 🤨There really wasn't a "scary" crash until about the 4:43 mark, which is where I'm paused at....... but I'll keep watching.
Most of these are stupid and not scary at all.
"Could have went"?
Why not slope the end of those walls??
