I found a shoebox of old football cards (and Pokemon, and Star Wars) from back in the 80's. Nothing amazing, but I did find some Houston Oilers, and since they don't exist anymore, I got excited. I definitely like finding baseball cards more, but this just blew me out of the water.

The picture of Ted Williams with Ted Kluelski from the Cincinnati Reds was taken at the 1950 All Star Game in Chicago's Commisky Park. Warren Spahn won 363 games for the Boston/Milwaukee Braves and won 23 games in 1963 at the age of 42. His card is valuable. The card showing Mantle, Maris, Cash and Kline was taken in Detroit at Briggs Stadium in 1961. Ted Williams was the greatest hitter in baseball history. I bought a lot of baseball cards that weren't in the greatest form but to have a piece of history is a nice feel. I got a 61 Clemente for $10. Corners are good but it has a slight crease. I got a 72 Frank Robinson that has a little wear and tear on the corners for $5. I spend a $100 on almost the whole 1976 tops set with a lot of star and hall of fame players. I love a good grade 8 or 9 card but if I can get a sweet deal on players like Mickey mantle, Yogi Berra, Roger Maris, Hank Aaron, Willie May's.etc as a grade 4 or 5, I'll take it. I love to collect baseball cards and will continue to buy them. Nice find. Those are classic cards even if they aren't in the best shape

This is exactly how i once found a cigar box with 1952 53 54 66 and 67 Topps Bowman cards.Most in mint to good...many were with rubber band creases but for the percentage of 25.00 for the box the cards i found gave me back a sum of 1,000.00.You can find deals without spending thousands of dollars and these are deals.
Ted Kluszewski was a feared home run hitter for about a half dozen seasons (no where near Ted Williams' level though). Although he hit 35, 40, 49 and 47 Homers in a season (Williams' high was 43). Notice his sleeveless jersey, I think he was one of the first to wear 'em like that. Cool find, I'd be happy with that. That Clemente is nice even though of the rounded corners and the creases, hurts the value tons, but I'd still price it in the low/mid double digit range.
Alternative Guide Heh, you mean Kluszewski, no problem ! Eh, I'd still price that Clemente a bit higher, closer to the $100 range, hell i'd buy it for around $75-$80. My cards hold more of a sentimental value to me although I don't mind the "what's it worth" part either. My earliest single Clemente card is from 1969 although i have a League Leaders from '68. That's a really cool find. Can't believe you didn't get them all. Just FYI, you value expectations are really inflated. Most of those cards are worth more like $30-50. For $2 each that's amazing, but not the $100-150 you are thinking.
Let's put it this way ... other than the Fox, you'd have to pay at least $10 to buy any of those in that condition. So, you got a steal if you're down to own some really beautiful cards, even if they're really not valuable due to condition. All collectors are different, and I'm at a point where I really don't care about value. I love finding vintage cards to build personal projects out -- and I'm cool to do it on the cheap with some cards that have seen better days. Some vintage cards are gorgeous -- like art, as far as I'm concerned -- even with rounded corners or a crease.

Pretty cool...several years back I bought over 10 thousand cards for only 45 dollars from a pist off white girl who donated them to a salvation army, it was her boyfriend collection because he cheated on her before there wedding day...her girlfriend didn't help either with her voice in her ear...it had cards from the 50...60...70...80...90 from all sports from...Football...Basketball n Looney Tunes n puzzles from the 1930 to 1950 baseball players that I still haven't found yet on google...Michael Jordon Cards alone was worth big money by themselves...n maybe 24 boxes of 36 pack card each from football to baseball that was still factory sealed from the 80-90 era...whom ever collection this was, it was time consuming n very neat because most card were in protectors n some counted by 5 or more the same cards. I never even knew soccer n hocky card have value...but I'm not a sport person...I collect comic books n I have hundred from the 1960 n up.

Youll see that in my estate find video how I mention the Pete Rose 1965 I got was "worth" about $50 in the condition it was in. Psa 6 or 7 it looked. Even though I don't collect cards for thier worth, I'm always gonna quote what it may SELL for IF I ever had no choice but to sell my beloved finds.

There are many differences here, but try and understand that you (an experienced hobbyist) selling cards which you know the value of, is much different than someone at a garage sale selling cards which they DON'T know the value of. I was sold these cards at what she considered to be a fair price. To answer your quip about "not being in the collecting game for real" -I purchase boxes regularly and singles at standard value on Ebay all the time. This was a one-time incident where if I hadn't of bought those cards at the price they were offering, someone else would have.

'Book value' is designed to make you buy those stupid pricing guides for $6.99 every year---all cards are worth what someone else is willing to pay you for them. The $2,800,00.00 Honus Wagner card was worth that much because some guy at the auction was willing to pay that.
I would have said “can u please hold all the cards” as I go get the $40 from either some friends or ur parents. The cards are nice finds but they look about a 4 grade at best. Nice though.

You can get an accurate value of these cards by seeing what they sell for on eBay. No way would you get $100 to $150 apiece for any of them. $5 to $10 would be more realistic.
You'll be lucky to get 25% of Beckett value from a baseball card dealer. the Dodgers were robbed as Roberto Clemente was an outfielder for their Montreal AAA club and couldn't hide him from the league.
What are you talking about.....booking those cards at ridiculous high prices....there's a lot of these around in PSA 7 or lower condition....the highest I see in your stack may be a PSA6.. ...if you were to get one graded...it would come back I believe a lot lower condition and the price would be so much cheaper....especially if it was graded. But, for $10 you did well. You need to learn a lot more and it takes time but, it'll pay off in the long run if you stay with it.
It's quite possible that all of them still exist just two blocks from me.I threw them away in an open field in 1965,which soon had a housing project built on that site.A century from now when the project is demolished,some of the 7,000 or so cards may emerge.

They're semi-rigid card sleeves. I don't usually use them, but I was planning on having these cards graded- and they need to be sent in semi-rigid sleeves
Cards can book for $1000, everything is about condition...you'd be lucky if those came back from PSA with anything higher than a 2 on them....$15-$30 on each....
The cards are worth basically no more than 5 bucks each until you get them graded......and by the looks of them (rounded corners) etc.....they are not going to recieve very good grades......you will be lucky to get 100 bucks for all of them.....But hey that's more than 10 bucks.
In their condition, Fox is 6 bucks Gehrig is about 12 bucks Williams is about 13 bucks Mantle is about 14 bucks Clemente is about 12 bucks. They might all be worth $100 by 2075.

He had altered his shirt (sleeveless) because his arms wouldn't fit in the sleeves. His biceps were huge!

Book value is out the window unless it's in NM-MT condition. All those cards conditions well below that, still at $10 a great deal.

There are many differences here, but try and understand that you (an experienced hobbyist) selling cards which you know the value of, is much different than someone at a garage sale selling cards which they DON'T know the value of. I was sold these cards at what she considered to be a fair price. To answer your quip about "not being in the collecting game for real" -I purchase boxes regularly and singles at standard value on Ebay all the time. This was a one-time incident where if I hadn't of bought those cards at the price they were offering, someone else would have.

'Book value' is designed to make you buy those stupid pricing guides for $6.99 every year---all cards are worth what someone else is willing to pay you for them. The $2,800,00.00 Honus Wagner card was worth that much because some guy at the auction was willing to pay that.
I would have said “can u please hold all the cards” as I go get the $40 from either some friends or ur parents. The cards are nice finds but they look about a 4 grade at best. Nice though.

@davidmcintire Actually EBay does Dictate Street Value Prices Around 90% of the time...Even back in the day, Beckett’s and Tuff Stuff Prices only applied to Mall shops like “Field Of Dreams” etc...Go to a Card Show and it’s all streetValue and or whatever price the vendor feels like selling it for. As for this video, $10 for the cards this guy got is a fun Score, But they aren’t worth much & Definitely not worth grading. You can get an accurate value of these cards by seeing what they sell for on eBay. No way would you get $100 to $150 apiece for any of them. $5 to $10 would be more realistic.
You'll be lucky to get 25% of Beckett value from a baseball card dealer. the Dodgers were robbed as Roberto Clemente was an outfielder for their Montreal AAA club and couldn't hide him from the league.

What are you talking about.....booking those cards at ridiculous high prices....there's a lot of these around in PSA 7 or lower condition....the highest I see in your stack may be a PSA6.. ...if you were to get one graded...it would come back I believe a lot lower condition and the price would be so much cheaper....especially if it was graded. But, for $10 you did well. You need to learn a lot more and it takes time but, it'll pay off in the long run if you stay with it.

It's quite possible that all of them still exist just two blocks from me.I threw them away in an open field in 1965,which soon had a housing project built on that site.A century from now when the project is demolished,some of the 7,000 or so cards may emerge.

They're semi-rigid card sleeves. I don't usually use them, but I was planning on having these cards graded- and they need to be sent in semi-rigid sleeves

Cards can book for $1000, everything is about condition...you'd be lucky if those came back from PSA with anything higher than a 2 on them....$15-$30 on each....
The cards are worth basically no more than 5 bucks each until you get them graded......and by the looks of them (rounded corners) etc.....they are not going to recieve very good grades......you will be lucky to get 100 bucks for all of them.....But hey that's more than 10 bucks.
JUS SUMGUY except when you pay to have them graded, spend gas or shipping to get them there. Always more too it.

Williams is about 13 bucks
Mantle is about 14 bucks
Clemente is about 12 bucks.
