Rivalries can often form between two major cities in one country. Doing some quick research, here are some city-pairs that seem to have a strong sense of rivalry: Madrid - Barcelona, Tokyo - Osaka, Rome - Milan, and Sydney - Melbourne.
And, so, in Lithuania, the best-known city rivalry is between Kaunas and Vilnius.
