This reminded my of a toy I had back in the late 90's early 00's called Teksta (Tekno in the US and oddly all UK ones still have this on the battery door), he is a Dog rather than a Cat but he would walk around and respond to voice and button presses, certain sequences would make him do things like a packed in Card trick or in my usual case perform the Lone ranger theme and then sneeze and fart. I still have him now in my 30s, his dalmation dots a bit worn (he was a Toys'r'Us exclusive), one ear glued back together and blue marker on the power switch but bung 4 AAs in and he'll trundle on like he did back then.
You should try and repair one of those Karma Chameleon telephones. I'm not sure how much they go for in the US but my broken one was only £5. The mechanism is really complex and from what I can tell it only uses a motor or two for all of the movements. Just something I thought would be cool.
Couldn't be further from the truth... A hidden video of me and my cat that will do tricks and is spoiled rotten. ua-cam.com/video/hK1RSGA-a2I/v-deo.html
From afar it looks like a gremlin; on close inspection it sure has the japanese "pokemony" appearance; as for the action...it looks like a neurotic creature having a seizure :p
I love ur Vids Randi. Ur so clever to put these back together. Iam trying to learn from ur vids but its not easy what ur doing. Thank you as I too have a passion for Toys and Games.
17:28 The bumps on the programming gear are shaped as a sitted kitten! Two bumps for the ears and one for the tail!
I really admire Japanese product- and packaging design, it is always so aesthetically pleasing for some reason.
They know how to do that stuff for sure.

Lot of creaking plastic as that cat finally opened! That aside a nice relaxing video as always, thanks.
Oh, that's a meow! It sounded suspiciously like a couple of plastic gears grinding past each other at first :)
See, shows what you know. It was a piece of plastic grinding on a gear.

Tomy is so wonderful! Have you ever fixed any of their weird marble games or pocketeers before?
None of the pocket games that wind up, but I've done some TOMY games.
Amazing to see something so mechanical that today would be done with a microcontroller
Yep, and I have a video coming where I build my own robot. It does way more, and way smaller.
@@RandiRain really looking forward to that
soooo you would open a cat but not pet it even if it dose a cool trick and meows huh............... 6:28 the worlds most blood curdling scream ever

@@RandiRain oh....
Fun one. Thank you. I sure needed this today.
You are so welcome... Have a good one... Or try at least.
Pretty cute cat-bot!😻

Blasphemy.
I wanna have one
This one came from Japan, and that's the only place I've seen them.

Glad you like them. The way I learned to do it was by doing it.
I got cooler stuff.
Yeah right.
