Four and a half minutes of incredibly useful information. Besides the tips themselves, an equally important benefit to beginners like me is knowing that these settings are available and being shown EXACTLY how to see them and adjust them. Thanks!
Your a bloody LEGEND. love these little nuggets of info, makes my life so much better. Just picked up another MacBook M1 today so I’ll be setting up my FCPX later.
Excellent tutorial-- thanks. One question: if I'm in the middle of a project, should I wait until I'm finished to make these settings changes? Will in disrupt my project if I make them now? Thanks
The only setting that may impact your current project is the "leave in place" setting. But all others are good to go and change up! Thanks for watching and the comment!
Wow!!! i love how crystal clear you explained everything! i did everything you said and voila!!! already editing my first video !!!! Although i am not sure why every time i add a piece of footage the clip gets super exposed without me even doing anything... any ideas why is this?
For the overexposed footage are you using iPhone Footage or other 10bit HDR footage? If you are you need to do a color space override to REC.709 - I go over how to convert it here ua-cam.com/video/zDA9Xc74sB0/v-deo.html at the 3:30 mark of the video. Glad the video was helpful! Happy Editing! Thanks for watching and the comment!
I will for sure! But after I go through the FCP ones. I want to have a library of videos for each program. Focusing on Final Cut right now. If you have any questions for DR in the mean time let me know!
These setting are awesome!!! Was always wondering, where I can find the settings, which eats up so much storage, but didn't find a complete list. This video did it - thanks a lot Rafael!
No Bullshit in this video, I have used FCPX for almost 5 years and this video blew my mind, cos those things are details but but necessary when you manage video editing as your job.
REALLY VERY HELPFUL AS I AM NEW USER OF FCP, I HAVE MACBOOK AIR (M2) AND IT FREEZ FREQUENTLY EVEN WITH A SMALL CLIP. IS THIS A PROBLEM BECAUSE I HAVE BASIC MACBOOK WITH 8GB RAM OR ANYTHING ELSE?
Rather fast but i think i got there in the end my FCP screen differs somewhat to e.g. menu ? no but settings yes. can i add effects like things in FCP?
Super usefull video! I am very interested in your settings for animated GIF exporting. I recently did a project compressing 4K footage in to very small gif dimensions (100x200 for example) and I found the result looking very unsharp. Final cut does not do a good job of compressing images/pixels in comparison to Photoshop. My current exporting workaround would be to export everything frame by frame in 4K then have PS downscale it and convert it into a gif/video file again.
Not at all, it'll just render during the export. The only benefit is if you need to export again it'll save time. Thanks for watching and the comment Dale!

From someone who is new to FCPX and NLES I thank you. You have done exactly what you said, Save me a bunch of time in the future! Amazing🔥🔥🔥
I use all the NLEs but keep coming back to FCP, it's the fastest in and out as a crew of one! Thanks Luis as always!
You ARE the Final Cut Pro. 😎

I like these types of tips. Can you do one for Resolve? Knowing what things could be off or on to help efficiency is always great input.

THIS. IS. EVERYTHING! Thank you!
It's just the tip of the FCP iceberg!
Thanks for a great video. What's the setup preference in FCP if you got a new power mac ?
I would set it up almost the same,
Thank you!

Thanks Raf
i’m tryna turn off that import pop-up, the minute my SD goes in FCPX OPENS n wants to import! NEED IT TO CHILL
Check out Commandpost.io it's free and that is one of the MANY things it improves about Final Cut. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Came from a PC to a mac and why the heck would you need to use the
FN key before using a dedicated Fkey? This is lame.

I've never had a First comment! This is my first FIRST comment 😬
Thanks Sergio for watching and commenting always good to see you!
Brilliant... but....Is there a way of slowing these tutorials down so a human brain can follow the tips as opposed to a brain of a fly?
Working on it, I get too excited! Thanks for watching and the comment

Way too fast! Talk slower and take your time!
